StanSP Posted 19 November 2010 Author Posted 19 November 2010 Detox will be out by the summer, with only 1 leak from it. I dont think Eminem will be out til this time next year. Doubt Drake and Lil Wayne will release a album together, but the Carter 4 should be out in time for the summer. And I'll eat my hat if an Outkast album is out next year, more likely to get an Andre 3000 album According to NME, Detox is out in Feb.
Head Honcho Posted 19 November 2010 Posted 19 November 2010 I'm liking that. Will definitely look out for any more stuff they produce One of my friend's bands, Le Carla (may have mentioned them on here before) could be releasing something too next year. They've had 2 EP's so far (most recent in May of this year), and have toured with The Blackout, We Are The Ocean and My Passion amongst others. Here's another nice tune of theirs that will probably make the album
StanSP Posted 19 November 2010 Author Posted 19 November 2010 Here's another nice tune of theirs that will probably make the album Yeah liked that too. Ended up listening to the rest of the tracks they have on YouTube anyway
Nickwell Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 The tune is good and liked them all, would like to have all tunes on CD. rap beats

James. Posted 1 December 2010 Posted 1 December 2010 Strange you like James Blake but struggle with Mount Kimbie James Blake is pretty challening at times. But it's well worth it because when he gets it right I think it's some of the best, most innovative stuff I've heard in ages. Mount Kimbie, unsurprisingly, has grown on me. Appreciate you recommending that. And yes, Cut Copy - how could I forget - see their playing Manchester in March. May try and go to that although my friends who saw them at Lovebox said they were a bit disappointing...
ajthefox Posted 2 December 2010 Posted 2 December 2010 Lasers by Lupe Fiasco is gonna be huuuuuuge amazingly talented nd massively under-rated
The Doctor Posted 2 December 2010 Posted 2 December 2010 just been listening to radio one interview with wierd al yankovic - said he was releasing a new album next year - name yet to be released.
StanSP Posted 6 December 2010 Author Posted 6 December 2010 BBC Sound of 2011 Nominees: James Blake Anna Calvi Daley Esben & the Witch Jessie J Clare Maguire Mona The Naked & Famous Nero Jai Paul The Vaccines Warpaint Jamie Woon Wretch 32 Yuck I imagine, after glancing through the 2010 - Your Year in Music thread, that Nero and James Blake will be somewhere near the top of the results list, as will The Vaccines as I've heard their name bandied around here too. Any thoughts on the rest?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 I saw this on BBC Teletext earlier and it said the list were compiled by 110 "tastemakers". You can't "make" taste. Everyone has a different taste, but there are far too many people who, when you get down to the core of it and quiz them enough, listen to music that they don't actually like because they think it's what they "should" be listening to or that it is "in". Previous winners have been safe-as-houses, media-friendly, music-by-numbers, sale-unit-shifters such as Ellie Goulding, Little Boots and Adele. I'm not getting too excited.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 there are far too many people who listen to music that they don't actually like because they think it's what they "should" be listening to or that it is "in". Pretty much what that Sound programme is. For people who all look the same, wear straw hats, and listen to gash "indie" music like Razorlight. *To add, I really hope Nero don't make it big if it means unsufferable cunts will be into them. Yes, I am that petty.

Yes, I am that petty. Know how you feel. I like finding bands/artists and for their own sake I sometimes wish they don't get too big and commercialised!
Samilktray Posted 6 December 2010 Posted 6 December 2010 Yasmin and Katy B will be massive in 2011. Yasmin is fucking fantastic, Shy FX produced her first single and shes just generally better than any other female artist for me. And Katy B is signed to Rinse, so her album should have some sick production.

I'm just hoping she doesn't get over exposed cos I've liked what I've heard so far.

purpleronnie Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Yeah, I reckon dance music went down the pan in the early 90's but I have heard her songs and thhey were pretty good.
Samilktray Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 I reckon the majority of her album production will be handled by Benga, which should be pretty good.
