Forest Post-match Gloating

Anyone heard the interview with Billy Davies after the match?

Seems to think their shout at a penalty was stone wall, and seems to think that the ref also told him this after the game.

I've never seen a more obvious dive in my entire life. Who the hell does that guy think he's kidding? it was so obvious to everybody at the game, and everybody watching it on tv apparently that it wasnt a penalty so what the hell is he talking about. He's pretty much based his interview on not getting that penalty. And what about the stone wall penalty that we got turned down, that was obvious to everybody apart from the ref and linesmen, funny how he dosnt mention that at all.

Oh well, we got three points :D Ner Ner Nerrrrrrr :scarf:

I'm one of Earnie's biggest fans, there are Florist supporters that'll never care for Earnie the way I do!

But it was a clear dive. Vassell, however... Vassell!!!

Puts the loss at Bristol in to some context really. A lot was said about their league position and how poor they were on the day, and I certainly wouldn't excuse us losing there.

But on the back of things, looking at that, it makes it look a bit less shabby.

I didn't. Must've been the beer :D

Although, I thought we time wasted pretty well near to the end. Was surprised we didn't pick up a booking for the long drawn out throw ins.

Which was for about 10mins unlike there 60 mins from the KO. I can't understand how you noticed our minimal attempt, and I hate it just as much - get a 2nd goal FFS but not theres.

Sure was, to which he replied fook off that was a stonewaller!

No complements for us though, reckons we only won because they were shite! (bitter).

Reckons Yuki is crap because he can't shoot, tried explaining thats not his game but it doesn't seem to be getting through :frusty:

We were better than them, that's that.

I think this was summed up towards the end of the game, when they were 'chasing' an equaliser and couldn't even get out of their own half

Thought Vassell was EXCELLENT today did great blistering runs and caused trouble his experience really showed today :scarf:

King another great performance

But what do we think to Roman Bednar the new boy? i thought he played ok not great lost the ball alot of times

I don't think he got much service, but one thing I noticed was how many free kicks he won us around the box, as opposed to how many Howard gives away.

Also, his hold up before the goal was simply brilliant.

Paddy Kenny was their main culprit rolling on the floor like a swiss roll.

I must admit Camp was very lax, even in injury time he seemed in no real rush to lump the ball forward.

I was saying it all last season and last night reaffirmed my beliefs, Camp is a top flight keeper and I see no reason why he shouldn't get a England call up. His reflexes are second to none.

my fb status last night was about how camp is not a top flight keeper its unreal

Wellens reminded me a lot of Robbie Savage back when he played for us. Just the kind of player you need for a big derby. Like Robbie Savage some of his tackles were a little suspect but he was up for the challenge and really got into the game. Perhaps Abe, King and Wellens could be our new Lennon, Izzet and Savage.

The BBC website says that Forest had 58% possession. Is it just me or did it feel like we had more?

I noticed that, but i think 80% of their possession was knocking it around their back four trying to find a way through.

I seem to remember him only having one shot all night, that granted went well over, but you can hardly base someones skill on one shot they had during a game. I thought Yuki really put a shift in last night, he did better than any of their midfield players anyway. The lot in the middle for forest were woefull, they dont look anywhere near as good as they did last season as a team in general.

On the way home me and my mate were saying he does the unspectacular & unnoticeable jobs but then you think back to the game and how many times you thought well done Yuki good work. Its fair to say there not enough fingers and toes to count on!!

I can't believe how deluded some Forest fans are on that forum. Saying we are a "physical mid table team" at best and "they were poor and we made them look good." True, it wasn't the best performance I have seen by Leicester (first half was poor imo) but we seriously outplayed them for the majority of the second half and should have won by 1-3 more goals. Many teams have said "that was the worst perfomance of the year when we played Leicester" but at the end of the day we didn't allow them to play due to the quality of a midfield three and back four. Abe was fantastic again, so was Wellens and Kingy is getting better and better. Then when all else fails they critisise the attendance, which was under par (i predicted another 1500-2000 more), but how can they critisise us when they didn't even sell their allocation out? They harp on about how great their away support is but even Derby (who have the worst away support in terms of numbers) filled their allocation. They counter argument would be it's on TV, middweek or we "don't care about you" but I could safely say that we could have filled 3300 seats against any of the "rival" teams on any day of the week. Marvin the martian was looking for the penalty today but I have seen them given but Vassell was wrestled to the ground last night, that was the clearest penalty of the two and the ref bottled it.

Anyway a good performance and we fully deserved the three points against a very negative, timewasting Forest team.

Forest's best attendance all season is 24,986 v leeds on saturday at the start of the season on tele.

We more less matched that on a monday night, on tele, 30 quid a ticket and arctic conditions.

If it was a Saturday game would of been more or less a sell out.

I bet there were 5000 Leeds fans there. There must have been 2000 Forest maybe 2200 there last night, I am not the best of judging numbers but there was clearly no one in the seats towards the side closest to the family stand.

Still laughing at the big clubs inability to sell out as been said even Derby, with one if the worst away supports around filled it. Cold or not, sky or not it's irrelevent when 25 miles down the road. Pitiful.

Should've, could've, would've scored three goals last night. Campman in goal made the difference (and some lucky defending by the Reds and/or poor finishing from our "strikers").

Thoroughly deserve the three points, F"*çst were abysmal and apart from two occasions never really made it past our back four.

Instead, they simply resorted to playing it a bit dirty, by retreating waaay back into their own half and by wasting time in various fashions.

I'm particularely impressed by our dominance and ball possession, at times it felt like the Barcelona of the East Midlands was on the pitch. 60 to 40 is no understatement.

As already mentioned, Cunningham, Davies, Hobbs and Naughton put in a very decent performance and took the swing out of the Notts F"*çst attacks early on.

Especially a good tackle from Davies on that diving tw*t Earnshaw in the second half springs to mind, took the little Welsh gimp some time to get back onto his feet.

Adebola suffered the same fate, couldn't find a way past the two rocks in the centre and the one time Little Gimp made it towards our goal (that awkward back header by Naughton in the first half), Weale was nothing but spectacular with his positioning.

Speaking of our keeper, how fantastic was his save from that long-range shot in the second half, where a couple of players were blocking his view. What a rocket of a shot, what a reflex!

Midfield - wowzer, the first time all three proper midfielders came up with the goods. Wellens has improved his work rate quite a lot over the past few weeks, runs like a tractor up and down, puts in good tackles, intervenes with the opposition's build-up attempts.

At times still a bit too selfish and fell theatrically twice. Two lame attempts at getting a penalty. Abe omnipresent - passing, marking - even his headers were quality...!

King did what he does best - he scores. Moves into the right spot at the right time when no one is watching. For large stretches, however, it felt like he simply vanished from the field once more.

Which you can hold for or against him.

Vassell, who was unlucky not to score, also fell rather easily in the second half when he was allegedly held back. The referee had most decisions spot on, I must say.

Bednar definitely reminds me of a younger Howard (that I never got to see). Built like a brick and keeping possession up front, hassling the F*%çst defenders quite effectively.

Gallagher was the only one to disappoint yesterday. A bit too chicken for my liking, evading a couple of long balls and had another one of these "sorry, not totally bothered" games.

What else? Sven's emotions and head movements (à la Pearson) during the game - priceless. He's just so much into the game. He loves this sport. Quality, what dedication!

The chanting was superb at times, in particular the "Clough" thing that shut them F"*çst bastards up for good. A bit of a sucker punch, really.

The foreign Chubby Squad right next to L1 - pathetic. Bunch of fat bastards. Should've been ejected for bad influence on innocent kids. My eyes still hurt. Nightmares, nightmares of big bellies and hanging tits!

Sky commentators - pathetic. "Forest blah blah blah. Forest blah blah blah. Forest blah blah blah. Forest blah blah blah." I think they never realized that the game was actually played at the Walkers. You're not biased, nonononono.

Daily Mail - pathetic. Match report is about fifty square centimeters large, figures amongst "further notices" and begins with "Aaron Ramsey made a welcome return to football, ..." Ramsey blah blah blah. Ramsey blah blah blah. You're not biased, nonononono.

And it contains this brilliant piece of observation:

... they (Leicester) had to wait until Vassell squirmed his way past three red shirts. Lee Camp blocked his shot but the ball fell for King at the far post who slipped it into the net.

Err... No, he didn't.

Now all we need is starting to put a winning run together away from home. Ideally beginning against Watford on Saturday.

P.S.: Still no goal from a corner...:/
