Edmund Posted 29 November 2010 Posted 29 November 2010 Good result and a decent all round performance from the lads. Thought we dominated from the start although we lacked that killer bite up front in the first half. I was thoroughly pleased at our work rate and that ultimately won us the match as we just kept pressing and got our just rewards. There's no doubt that we deserved all three points and should have won this by 2 or more goals but you've got to give full credit to Camp, he really is a top class keeper and is too good for Forest and this league. The difference today was in the midfield. Abe, Wellens and King dominated the Forest midfield. Wellens worked tirelessly, Abe's distribution was top drawer and King's runs were stretching the Forest defence left right and centre. The defence was solid and I thought Hobbs looked very assured along side Davies once again. Naughton and Cunnigham did their job well albeit a potentially goal scoring error from Naughton. Cunninghams delivery's from free kicks were quality. Bednar looks like a more mobile Steve Howard and I thought he looked slightly off the pace but I'm sure once he gets his match fitness up and gets used to playing in the team he'll come good. Full credit for his part in the build up to King's goal. Vassell looked the best I've seen him this season and Gallagher looked sharp. Weale has to keep his place after pulling off two great match saving saves. You just can't drop a keeper after a very competent display and most importantly a clean sheet. Personally can't pick a fault with any of the players today and I think the most pleasing aspect was they played as a team and not eleven individuals. Special mention to Howard as he looked lively when he came on. Dyer didn't get much time but didn't do anything of note and I was hoping he'd be a major impact sub. Considering he was our brightest attacking player at the start of the season he looks a different player but I may being a tad unfair as he didn't have a great amount of time on the pitch. Sven and Derek's blue white army :city:
lcfcsnow Posted 29 November 2010 Posted 29 November 2010 Not that keen on the England 'style' for the first 45 minutes, seems to happen under Sven in every game whenever we're attacking the family stand. Vassell was all over the place tonight, did something great and then gave it away so cheaply, but finally showed his class for about 15 minutes in second half. Cunningham is class.
Matt Posted 29 November 2010 Posted 29 November 2010 Very happy, and £5 richer due to a bet with a Forest fan....let's be honest the only bet i've won in weeks. Gonna be great at work tomorrow, especially as the foreman's a Forest fan, TBH don't think i'm gonna say anything just smile, think i'll get more of a reaction with that. The match, Not a classic, not the greatest, and if i'm honest don't think we deserved to win, a draw would have been about right, 1st half especially, 2nd half maybe not. That said i'll take it, and more than happy with it. We just have to win Saturday now
orangecity23 Posted 29 November 2010 Posted 29 November 2010 Kingy Vassell - best game yet Bednar - excellent debut. When the rest of the team gets to know the passes he wants to make, he will be a real asset. Forest - got what they deserved for spending 60+ minutes attempting to waste time at every throw in, free kick or goal kick. And exclusive photo of Yuki Abe's back pocket-
Ozwin Posted 29 November 2010 Posted 29 November 2010 I said it last season and I'll say it now, Forest are a bunch of time wasting nancy boys. Billy Davies does this with every club he's at and it's embarassing.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 29 November 2010 Posted 29 November 2010 Good win and deserved. Would have been godd to have scored more, but the three points is the main thing.

Edmund Posted 29 November 2010 Posted 29 November 2010 That is a quality picture. It would've been more apt if you got the name on the back of the keepers shirt in the shot as well

StanSP Posted 29 November 2010 Posted 29 November 2010 How did we only have 42% Possession? We had 77% at one point in first half
Daggers Posted 29 November 2010 Author Posted 29 November 2010 2028% of statistics prove that Lee Camp is straight.
broughtonblue Posted 29 November 2010 Posted 29 November 2010 Great performance, thought abe was class, not a bad performance by any individual really, although bit frustrated with some of the basics really, mixed up throw INS and not beating the first man from a corner. Strangely after a 'boring first half' with two many passes in our own half and going sideways too much, I thought the turning point was when earnshaw came on. He harrassed our back four when we had the ball, causing us to go forward with more urgency, this seemed to give us the impetus to create in the final third Play offs at least!!!
themotivator Posted 29 November 2010 Posted 29 November 2010 E I E I E I O... great night. lovely walk home in the snow. i just have one question... can we play these every week?
Fosse Boy Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 Delightful. Genuinely starting to get worried about top flight clubs sniffing round King come January though. Kop bouncing down to the front in the last 10 says it all really. Marvellous. Beaut work.
lildave3 Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 Yuki Abe and Vassell my heroes tonight. Both fantastic, then again so was Davies. And Hobbs. And Cunnin....sod it, they all did well (except Gallagher ) King is an icon.
Haydos Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 Not much mention of cunningham's set piece delivery. Looked very dangerous throughout.

Would be awesome to see that again in future.
