Guest Mee-9 Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 1-1 draw. Doncaster have some decent players, don't think it'll be as easy as everyones making out I'd go with the same side as Watford, or Dyer in for Gallagher.
orangecity23 Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 I'd certainly agree that this not going to be a cakewalk. I'd expect Doncaster to flood their midfield, and camp out inside their own half like Forest did in the first half against us, looking to hit us on the counter attack. Hopefully we'll be able to get an early goal to force the game to be more open, and we avoid any more suicidal defending.
The Doctor Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 their away form has been patchy, our home form impressive. We've only failed to score twice at home this season, they haven't kept a clean sheet away since the start of august. All set up for a scrappy 1-0 win for them then. I reckon 3-0 us - king, bednar, vassell
Christoph Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 2-1 to us IT will be scrappy, it will be uncertain and it will be nailbiting but we must get a streak going
Kingylcfc Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 easy 4-1 win Weale Naughton Davies Hobbs Cunningham Abe Wellens King Vassell Howard Dyer
hackneyfox Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 From my northern monkey Donny mate 'We're shit at defending from free kicks, corners and crosses, but if you try and pass it through us and we'll win 0-4.' 0-0 then Vitor is fit and needs to play. Kirkland is back anf if he's fit needs to play. I wouldn't change anything else but go 442 with Bednar and Vassel up front and gally behind them as Davie G said. Vassel isn't getting tired, he's slowly getting match fit, I'd always start with him and bring Dyer on if needed later.
RowlattsFox Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Weale Naughton Davies Hobbs Cunningham Dyer Wellens King Gallagher Bednar Waghorn Subs: Logan, Vitor, Berner, Vassell, Fryatt, Howard, Abe I no we've had problems with 4-4-4 in the past, but with us struggling to score I think we need 2 upfront. Got nothing against Abe, think he's been excellent of late but one the midfield 3 have to go and at home to Doncaster I think he's most likely. I do think 4-3-3 is long term option. Doncaster not be the best side to go 4-4-2 against with their pretty passing in midfield though, could go back to 4-4-3 with Waghorn coming to the left and Gallagher playing in the hole. Will probably be unchanged though.

StanSP Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 From my northern monkey Donny mate 'We're shit at defending from free kicks, corners and crosses, but if you try and pass it through us and we'll win 0-4.' Maybe we'll score from one on Saturday!
hackneyfox Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010  Maybe we'll score from one on Saturday! If we're dependant on corners I'll stick with 0-0 They like to go at you and they are poor at the back so ..................
StanSP Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Yeah they play some attractive football and have been labelled the Arsenal of the Championship. I'm not expecting this to be an easy match by a long way.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Some people never learn! 4-4-fockin 2 Logan Naughton Davies Vitor Cunnage Gally Abe/Wellens King Dyer Waghorn Bednar (1 more start) Dont think we require Ritchie for this as we should be all out attack and Abe should provide enough cover.
clarkeylcfc Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Kirkland naughton,davies,vitor,cunningham dyer,wellens,abe,king,moussa . Bednar
RowlattsFox Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 That should definitely help us win, 1 or two extra players. No idea what happened there <_<
Legend_in_blue Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 This should be a walk in the park. But we all know what happens against these small town clubs... :sge: "Well... if we play good football, we should win the game. We'll see."
marbelladave Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 I am somewhat surprised by the sheer complacency of the posts in this thread, making just the odd change to a team that has been poor in two of our last three games and contrived to lose both, against very modest opposition. Ok, I know we won our last two home games but we won by the narrowest of margins even though both Derby and Forest were a long way from their best. Under normal circumstances I would be calling for some big changes, given the talent we have available I think our performances are unimpressive and we need big changes in both personel and the way we play. Our defence has been shoddy, to say the least, so I would make at least one change there, bringing in Vitor for either Hobbs or Davies, the latter preferably. Our midfield, though hard working, is one paced and predictable so one of them has to drop out to bring some variation and we cannot continue to play with forwards who have no pace or are clearly not yet match fit. So something like this... Kirkland Naughton--Hobbs--Vitor--Cunningham Abe--King Dyer--Gallagher--Fryatt Bednar I accept that there is no chance of anything like this happening on saturday, but I am fed up with our wholly predictable playing style. We dominate play but can't score, get caught out easily in defence then fall for the sucker punch chasing the game. Badly in need of a shake up in my view!
Wymsey Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Marbella Dave i would stick with Berner at left back as Cunningham 'isn't there' yet with how to play a game in this league.
marbelladave Posted 8 December 2010 Posted 8 December 2010 Marbella Dave i would stick with Berner at left back as Cunningham 'isn't there' yet with how to play a game in this league. Fair comment. Personally I think he is very promising but as you say, perhaps not quite there. I would persevere with him but either he needs to be a little more conservative going forward so that he can be a bit tighter in defence or we need to give him more cover when he does get forward. My setup (above) does the latter. In addition I think he will benefit from playing alongside a left center back who is less jittery and error prone than Hobbs, that man should be Vitor but he appears to be made out of glass, shame.
MikeyT Posted 8 December 2010 Posted 8 December 2010 This will be my first game of the season i've been able to afford to get to, so hoping for a good win. I think 3-0 to City. Abe, King and Vassell with the goals.
Bausor Posted 8 December 2010 Posted 8 December 2010 weale naughton hobbs davies berner abe wellens king gally howard wahorn bednar or weale naughton hobbs davies berner wellens abe gally king howard waghorn bednar
StanSP Posted 8 December 2010 Posted 8 December 2010 weale naughton hobbs davies berner abe wellens king gally howard wahorn bednar or weale naughton hobbs davies berner wellens abe gally king howard waghorn bednar That's called cheating
Bert Posted 8 December 2010 Posted 8 December 2010 I'd like to see - Kirkland Naughton Cunningham Davies Hobbs Wellens King Abe Dyer Vassell Waghorn. Saying this, I think Vitor will come in for Hobbs, and Kirkland for Weale.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 8 December 2010 Posted 8 December 2010 People dropping Cunningham? I think hes a very decent player, aint done much wrong in my opinion. Seems daft people saying hes poor.
dannythefox Posted 8 December 2010 Posted 8 December 2010 Weale Naughton Davies Vitor (Hobbs wont get a sniff this week) Cunningham Wellens King Abe Dyer Bednar Waghorn
StanSP Posted 8 December 2010 Posted 8 December 2010 People dropping Cunningham? I think hes a very decent player, aint done much wrong in my opinion. Seems daft people saying hes poor. I don't think they're dropping him because he's poor. Think they just see Berner as a more accomplished player. But I agree with you saying he's not done much wrong. Even if Berner is more accomplished and experienced, Cunningham has to get experience too. He's not on loan just to sit on the bench. I think he's a solid player with lots to give.
