Bob Weasel Fox Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 WEALE - 7 BERNER - 8 HOBBS - 8 MORRISSON - 7 NAUGHTON - 8 ABE - 7 WELLENS - 8 KING - 7 GALLAGHER - 7 VASSELL - 8 DYER - 7 Subs# OAKLEY - 6 WAGHORN - 6 WELL DONE CITY
acooling08 Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Weale - 7 - Nothing to do. No chance with goal. Naughton - 6 - Ok, didn't get forward like he normally does. Hobbs - 8 - Very solid. Morrison - 8 - Same as Hobbs. Berner - 9 - MOTM for me. Such a wise head, never got beaten, and scored. Abe - 6 - Not in the game. Wellens - 7 - Got stuck in. King - 6 - Not in the game and not playing well recently. Dyer - 6 - Wasn't in the game but he tried hard and ran all game. Gallagher - 6 - Not a very good game BUT his deliveries for both corners got 2 goals. (remember that boo-boys) Vassell - 7 - Ran, harried, scored.
Webbo Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Weale - 7 Naughton - 7 Hobbs - 8 - Very solid. Morrison - 8 - Good to see him back. His presence in the opposition box is what we've been missing from corners. Berner - 8 - MOTM for old times sake as much as performance. Abe - 6.5-Poor Wellens - 7 - Okayish King - 7 - In and out. Had hard luck with a header. Dyer - 6.5 Gallagher - 8 - I don't care what anyone says. His set pieces were the difference today. Vassell - 7.5-Worked hard and scored, job done.
lcfcsnow Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Weale - 5 I've no confidence in the guy, beaten from long range so often and no communication when Hobbs was running back towards goal on a few occasions. Naughton - 7 Hobbs - 7.5 Is playing superbly of late not in his preferred position, I assume Bamba and Mee both play on the left side of defence, Hobbs should thrive off that. Morrison - 7 See below. Berner - 8 Love the guy and a great performance, but sadly won't be the answer and hope Sven has someone else in mind here. Abe - 7 Wellens - 7.5 King - 6 missed a few chances and dithered abit which was unlike him. Dyer - 5.5 - bags of pace but zero technical ability, Bernard Parker the replacement? Gallagher - 7 thought he put in a good shift today, won some headers too. Vassell - 7.5 getting better by the game.

alex walker Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Weale- 6.5 didnt have much to do but what he had he dealt with it decent performance Naughton - 6 didnt play as usual he gave balls away not as many runs as normal didnt win much did one or two good runs thats it. hobbs- 7 1 or 2 mistakes didnt communicate well with weale won a few tackles won headers and he could of done better. Morrison- 7 was strong in tackles but gave stuff away not as good as when he played hull. Berner- 8 was strong won the headers and didnt give anything away solid performance MOTM King- 6 drifted out the game no where near his best gave balls away one or two good balls through to vassel thats about it. abe- 5.5 bad performance gave lots of balls away got tackled got nowhere wellens- 7 did OK played some good balls through won tackles he was strong in the middle dyer- 7.5 played well sometimes went out the game he beat his marker put crosses in gallagher- 6.5 quality corners got tackled whilst trying to do to much skill vassel- 7.5 got the ball and got past his marker unlucky not to get 2 goals that match played well
Legend_in_blue Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Weale - 7 - Didn't have too much to do. Not sure about their goal. Possibly could have done better. Naughton - 7 - Sinclair gave him a torrid time in the 1st half but improved over the 2nd. Hobbs - 7 - One miscommunication with Weale (Hobbs' fault imo) in the 1st half but otherwise solid. Morrison - 7 - Solid. If he could keep the ball down he could become a great centre half. Berner - 9 - Superb pro. Nothing but admiration for the guy. MOTM. Abe - 6.5 - Went missing on occasions. King - 7 - Positive runs forward but not as influential as Wellens. Wellens - 8 - Ran ragged in the 1st half, Pratley had him but in the 2nd his tenacity shone through and he ran the midfield imo. Gallagher - 6 - Hit and miss. He never will become a tackler. Luckily for us today it didn't cost us anything in terms of a result. 1st half defensive duties were completely absent from the field of play. Vassell - 8 - The more he plays, the better he becomes. Loved the sliding challenge by the touchline in the 2nd half. Not afraid to mix it. Dyer - 6.5 - Ran and ran and ran but with no end product. Subs: Waghorn - N/a Oakley - N/a :sge: - 8 - Well... good football.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Weale - 6 - Didn't have that much to deal with. Naughton - 6 Morrison - 8 Hobbs - 8-The CB pairing looks as strong as it was last season Berner - 9 - Glad he's back, Sterling performance. Man of the match for definate. Abe - 6 Not the best today, won the ball back some times well. King - 7 Wellens - 7.5 - Mr Consistent Dyer - 7 Gallagher - 6 - Still the weak link in the team for me. Even though his crosses created the goals, he's so frustrating to watch. Vassell - 8 - Looks quality as a centre forward.
cairnsy Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Weale - 6 shaky Naughton - 5 worst game for him, stood off saintclare so many times and got beaten every time Hobbs - 8 solid Morrison -8 solid Bruno - 9 great game but looked shaky once dyer came on King- 6 never got in the game Abe - 5 never got in the game Wellans - 7 tried hard to be physical and win the ball got bounced off by the big Cms 80% of the time Gallagher -7 one of his better games Dyer-6 runs forever but nothing comes from it Vassel - 7 decent game, should have came off 20 mins earlier
leicester4life Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Weale - 5 Did nothing but make piss poor hoofed clearances. Naughton - 7 Hobbs - 7.5 Solid Morrison - 7.5 Solid, shit decision from the ref to book him. Berner - 8.5 A class above, deserved the goal and the chants. Abe - 8 Does things quietly, like a ninja Wellens - 7.5 Battled well, daft challenge to get himself booked. King - 7.5 Put himself about a bit, made some decent challenges. Dyer - 7.5 - Ran and ran, chased things down Gallagher - 7 Jumped and won headers, miracles never cease. Vassell - 8 Unlucky not to grab a brace, closed down and chased a lot. Oakley - 6 Waghorn- 6
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Weale - 7 Naughton - 6.5 Morrison - 7 Hobbs - 7 Berner - 8 Abe - 7 King - 6 Wellens - 7 Dyer - 7 Gallagher - 6 Vassell - 8
Haydos Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Weale - 6 - Hardly anything to do, communication with back 4 during back passes seems questionable. Well beaten for their goal. Naughton - 6 - Got forward a bit irresponsibly at times and not very effective today. Left a huge gap for Sinclair who should have levelled. Morrisson - 8 - Looked very solid and seemed to communicate much better with Jack. Ball playing let him down a bit. Hobbs - 8 - Won his headers and challenges well. Berner - 8 - His experience showed, good positioning and reading of the game. Rarely caught out of position. Wellens - 7.5 - Strong game again, fought well and always looking for the runs of Vassell. Better in 2nd half. Abe - 7 - Harried well, great energy. Offered little going forward though. Gave the ball away quite a bit. King - 7 - Played the simple game well, always offering himself and closed down. Quiet but efficient. Needs to communicate a bit more with Wellens in defence I feel. Gally - 7 - Deliveries were improved, still a few hitting the first man though. Caught in possession a few times but usually offered an option. Vassell - 7.5 - Movement was good. Pace caused trouble again, won his fair share of headers and showed great strength on the ball at times. Dyer - 6.5 - Good energy until he was subbed, did a lot of running off the ball. Misses out on a 7 because he just didn'y cause any problems going forward. Sven - 6.5 - IMO should have switched to 4-4-2 after 55/60 mins. Bringing Howard on for Gally and pushing Abe onto the right. We were playing a lot of long balls and possession often seemed to find its way straight back to their midfield.
Thracian Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Weale 7 (We seemed much safer than with Kirkland around. Yes, he had little to do but that's what you want. I didn't see that he had any chance with the goal - the fault was in our failure to close down allowing a free strike - but he did come out fast enough to prevent a breakaway equaliser in the second half). Naughton 7 (Won his battle with Sinclair in the end and, in doing so, Swansea lost a lot of their threat with their energy levels dropping noticeably). Hobbs 7 (He always seems a bit of a calamity waiting to happen with his poor touch, poorly directed headers and poor communication at times but he did dominate the aerial battles and we conceded very few chances). . Morrison 7.5 (Waste of time expecting him to play football but his header made the chance for one of our goals and he dug in there well enough so that what I said above about chances applies to him as much as Hobbs). Berner 8 (Deserves an extra point for being right in the mix to take his tap-in goal but he also ensured that Swansea got little encouragement down their right). Abe 6 (Won lots of headers and was quite involved at times but his re-distribuition was sometimes inaccurate or ill-considered. He's been in the team long enough to do something with the ball rather than just passing the responsibility to others, especially backwards) King 7.75 (Slowish start but otherwise had an excellent game. Might well have scored with a glancidng header when unmarked. Linked really well with Vassell, Wellens and others with his little one-twos - one move he started being continued by Wellens producing a brilliant save to prevent another Vassell goal. He helped out defensively too and I particularly watched him in his role as skipper and he never stopped organising people or communicating. And from what I could see people were listening and responding). Wellens 7.25 (Made his usual errors and bad choices, particularly in refusing to shoot, but he and King were monsters in midfield, particularly as others tired during the second half. Having passing options around them helped and I could see King benefitting hugely from the control, vision and selflessness of Vassell). Gallagher 6 (Deserves something for his goal involvement but the bloke still looked to be a weak link overall. He's so frustrating the way he takes an extra touch or fails to contest balls that could be won). Vassell - 8.5 (Man of The Match by a diustance for me. Poacher's goal, almost a spectacular second, played the lone striker role as well as could ever be expected and with the vision, selflessness and competitiveness I've referred to earlier. The bloke made something of almost everything and was a real handful for his markers. He held the ball when suport was a bit slow in coming yet moved it fast when the runners were around. Smashing. And his sliding tackle was the sort of old fashioned tackle that was almost worth the ticket price on its own. Dyer 7 (Might not have scored or made a goal but his positive determination was a worry to Swansea and provided space at times for others. I just wish we'd use more width when we get possession because we do have players now who can exploit the wider spaces. Subs: N/A (A credit to the team in itself).
reynard Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Weale 6 Poor communication and some iffy clearances as well. Naugton 5 Not great. Gave away possession, beaten continuously by Sinclair and not great coming forward either. Morrison 6.5 Good threat from corners but defensively didn't really have a lot to do. His quality on the ball is probably not good enough for a higher level but he's a good honest pro. Hobbs 6.5 Generally sound performance against a toothless attack. Berner 8.5 Truly excellent performance though he did tire towards the later stages, A goal as well so probably MOM. Wellens 6 Not one of his best games. Tries to be to tricky sometimes and gives away possession. Great through ball for Vassell though. King 6 Anonymous at times, dangerous at others. Not strong enough in the tackle today and though he got forward well at times his final pass often went astray. Abe 5 Not really that good especially first half when he looked lost. Again gave the ball away too cheaply. Gallagher 5 A few good set pieces and one or two bits of skill but his overall play means he is a bit of a luxury. Can't tackle rarely wins a header and a couple of passes straight into touch. We need more from him. Dyer 6 Good pace as usual but didn't really pose too much danger today. Vassell 8 Very good performance. A goal and almost a second. Leads the line well and worked very hard. Getting better each game.
themotivator Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 very pleased we managed to grind a result out today against a high flying swansea. hope we bought them back to earth. i dont think anyone particularly shone though, we did well to prevent them from scoring although they managed to **** their comeback up themselves. on todays performance, i dont hold out much hope of getting a result against man city. we did however show more than one glimpse of the team we can be. some excellent one touch passing and a maturity that showed throughout the team. this is how i rated the lads performances: Weale 6.5 - loved and hated his risky dummy to let the ball run out of play when under pressure, but all in all wasnt anthing to write home about. Bruno- 7.5 got his goal! had a very decent game and managed to change my mind over wether he could still do the job. Morrisson - 7 was solid enough on more than one occasion and seems to work well with hobbs. strong phsically, but i'm still not convinced he has enough ideas to become a really good player. sorry. Hobbs - 7.5 was very good today. Naughton 7 - his pace got us out of some sticky situations, but he wasnt as effective going forward like he has been in the past. Abe 6.5 - good at winning the ball and slowing the play down so we can regain composure, but was inconsistant today. Wellens 7 - great ball over the top for a vassell chance and his commitment was summed up when he got his yellow card. he was an asset today, but didnt quite shine as brightly as other performances. King 6.75 - had a few chances to make things happen, but failed to make his trademark impact Dyer 7- battled hard and caused problems, could have done better with some of his chances again though. Vassell 7.5 - vassell manages to impress me enough everytime i see him play. put in one or two great tackles and was unlucky not to score two, forcing a good save from dorus. Gally 6 - decent deliveries for the two goals, but swansea have earned a reputation for not being able to deal with corners. frustrates me to no end because i can see he is talented. im bored of it now. subs: Waggy. - can't really give him a mark for a ten minute display, but i cant remember him touching the ball. you could tell from his body language that he was up for it. Oakley - bought on for dyer to stop us conceding. cant remember much of him either.
Bugg Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Weale 6 - Distribution poor, but had little to do. Naughton 6 - Not his greatest game Morrison 7 - Solid enough Hobbs 7 - as above Berner 8 - MOTM for me, good defending and got himself on the scoresheet. Wellens 7 - Played Okay King 7 - Drifted in and out of the game, but played well Abe 7 - Played Okay Gallagher 5 - Mediocre Vassell 7.5 - Played well and got himself on the scoresheet Dyer 7.5 - Played well
okie fox Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Weale 6 No chance with the goal. Distribution poor at times Naughton 7 Couldn't go forward much because had to mark Sinclair. Kept Sinclair under control most of the time. Hobbs 8 Solid at the back Morrison 8 Dominant in the air, shouldn't be sold Berner 8 Back at his best, please stay Abe 7 Pratley didn't do much probably because of Abe Wellens 7 Did a lot of good things and made a few bad decisions. King 7 Good through ball to Vassall, should have scored with header, needs to win the ball more Gallagher 6 Occasionally brilliant, but mostly a weak link, needs to challenge with more conviction Vassall 8 Our best centre forward by a mile, fast, plays much bigger than his actual size Dyer 7 Ran his socks off, sprinted back to prevent a Sinclair breakaway in second half SUBS: Waghorn 5 Poor first touch, ducked out of aerial challenges Oakley 6 Did OK
Swampdog Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Weale - 7 - didnt have too much to do really. nothing he could do for their goal and came out well for the 1 on 1 with sinclair Berner - 8 - solid simple as and scored. Hobbs - 8 - as above Morrision - 7.5 - not too bad, didnt do anything wrong that i can remember Naughton - 7.5 - i think he did alright, dealt with sinclair ok.. hes a good player not surprising the team had to double up on him King - 6 - not really in the game.. standard thing for king, normally he scores so it saves him but not today so cant give him anymore then a 6 Abe - 7.5 - ive seen some people rate him badly for this game but to me he covered the back 4 pretty well. Always getting back and supporting the defence. did well in my opinion Wellens - 5 - ran around a lot but gave the ball away a lot too. Did nothing of note. the only reason he gets a lower rating then king to me is because of his ability to pass the ball to the oposition. Dyer - 6.5 - didnt get stuck in in the first half at all and was pretty ineffective. in the second half he was a lot more determined and made a lot more of an impact. Vassell - 8 - Did well to lead the line, scored and had a really good effort saved. no idea how the keeper held it, if he hadnt it would have been 3 with dyer coming in from the right to tap it in. Gally - 7 - Can be very frustrating at times but he puts in a lot of effort and in patches can be very useful. made good use of him in the air and he was winning the ball from their fullbacks flicking it on everytime.. shame he isnt as consistant throughout whole matches. Honestly dont get why people give wellens a good rating.. he reallying does suck. Yes he puts himself about but he gives the ball away a lot.. maybe has one good game in 5 if u ask me.. today he was crap
eastendfox Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 We deserved it, really good organisation against a decent Swansea side Weale 7 - Nothing much to do Naughton 8 - Thought he did really well against Sinclair, which meant most of Swansea's game plan went out of the window Hobbs 9 - Thought he was immense today, won pretty much everything that mattered Morrison 8 - Good at the back, but also a real threat from set plays with his movement Berner 7 - Great to see him back, but a bit rusty at times Abe 6 - Seemed to struggle a bit at times Wellens 7 - The usual mixed bag, a superb defence splitting pass to set up Vassell in the second half, sloppy at other times. King 7 - Lost his radar a bit up front, but at the heart of organising the midfield and defence to stop all the Swansea passing getting dangerous Dyer 6 - Didn't get on the ball enough really Gallagher 7 - Really impressed with him in the second half when he worked hard and managed to keep hold of the ball. Good set piece delivery as well Vassell 7 - Don't think he's ideal playing as a lone striker, but made the best of it and a real poachers goal
dannythefox Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Weale 7.8 (did what he had to do well) Naughton 7.3 (not himself) Morrison 8 (soild) Hobbs 8 (solid) Berner 8.2 (solid) Abe 7 (didnt win enough tackles) wellens 7.2 (made to many mistakes) King 6.9 (didnt really get him in the game today) Gally 6.7 (give moussa a go) Vassell 8 (looked sharp put the effort in) Dyer 7.8 (caused problems)
Corky Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Weale- 6 Naughton- 6 Hobbs- 7 Morrison- 7 Berner- 7 Dyer- 6 Abe- 5 King- 6 Wellens- 6 Gallagher- 6 Vassell- 7
