MrSpaM Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 money wouldnt be wasted getting the yak surely Most people seem to think he's unfit and overweight, including Everton supporters. Really not sure about this one, having seen Bednars few games with us i'm really against us getting in players that arnt fit enough to play at this level.
Finnegan Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 If injury free he'd be okay here but not if he costs tidy Prem money. His prem days are over, imo. He'd be coming down to his level.

Exactly...massively unfit (even Cahill is being picked up front ON HIS OWN before this guy), not to mention huge wages & probably 4-5 million price tag. This is a no brainer for me...way to much of a gamble. I'd shell out a couple of mill for Charlie Austin instead. Much better investment
Bert Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 If we get davies, it'll be on loan. He'll only sign for someone permantly if they're premiership. So we'd need to go up.
Finnegan Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Someone ban this guy if he says Charlie Austin one more time.
STUHILL Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Someone ban this guy if he says Charlie Austin one more time. hahahaha Is it the same guy every time!? Is it actually Charlie himself??
Bugg Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Someone ban this guy if he says Charlie Austin one more time. Everyone is on about him now
dave_the_fox Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Someone ban this guy if he says Charlie Austin one more time. Why dont we look at that guy from league one - Charlie Austin That mixed with my signature should make Finners explode
Babylon Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Someone ban this guy if he says Charlie Austin one more time. You mean Charlie "only seen him play once on sky, but he's mentioned in the papers a lot and linked with Nigel Pearson so he must be good" Austin.
Fox92 Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Need proven players at Championship level. If you are referring to my comment about Charlie Austin, then your theory can be proved wrong. Steve Morison never played Championship football when Milwall took a gamble with him, yet he scores in this divsion. And there are many more. Just because Austin has played in the Championship, doesn't mean he won't be good enough.
poggypogpog Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Mateja Kezman is currently without a club. Brilliant striker when controlled properly. Would be a big task getting him in though. If not, that Charlie Austin looks ok.
Bert Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Yes, but because morrison proved a success, it doesn't mean austin will. We need a striker that's going to be able to score towards 30 in this league, and 15 plus in the prem. Austin won't get that in the prem I don't think.
Finnegan Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Speakin of Morrison, I just seen Robbie Fowler...

But anyone doing that is either sewn up or several Prem Clubs will be above us in the queue should there be a hint of their becoming available. Someone on an upward curve is probably preferable to someone on a downward one, a battling attitude is needed in this division and some of players we're linked with or some that people want just don't have it We have a proven Championship striker on our books - he perhaps needs to be given a couple of games before we look outside. WAGGY

I know it doesn't, but if we don't take a gamble, we'll never know. He may score 30 goals or around that, he may not.

Guest Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 You could say the same thing about every single player in the world. Except Bednar.
Jimmy2Drags Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Someone ban this guy if he says Charlie Austin one more time. Come on dude...I only mentioned his name twice...and they were in different threads too...we are a grumpy Welsh boy today aren't we! (Post Xmas blues...I understand) I have only seen him a few times (on SKY...good call Babylon) but stats don't lie...31 goals in 50 games Plus he's only 21...gotta be worth a punt!
Finnegan Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Sign Bert up. He's got at least a goal a game whenever I've seen him.

Better stats than du du du Matty Fryatt and people cried when we sold him.
