Guest Mee-9 Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 I think we should name it Raw Dykes. I'd rather lick the gooch of a sweaty primark sweatshop worker. Filbert Way any day of the week, but to be honest, I can't see this happening.
The Padster Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 T E R R A C E S Best suggestion on the topic. Unfortunately also the least likely to be implemented.
Ozwin Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 I think we should get a little letter/petition type thing together as I said last night. Maybe get together a Facebook group set up and create a little wishlist and send it Tops way. Obviously they'd need to be realistic suggestions but if he's a footballing man, which he strikes me as being, and someone who wants to get on the fans side, I reckon he'd be happy to bring some of the things into fruition. I'm dreaming I know, but imagine if he actually agreed to a terraced section or to switch the kop with the family stand. He'd become an absolute hero around here.

Good idea, would need some clear points and suggestions of what the majority of fans want and a person who is a clear and well though out writer. I genuinely believe that Top would take the ideas into consideration.
C.J Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 Not strictly the stadium, but i've always wondered why they don't chop the shrubs down and show the cascading waterfall thing that runs behind the stadium. A bit of open panning onto the canel would make the area look alot better and surely wouldn't cost too much. , its called a weir. Cant we get somebody to lay a decent pitch?? This ones terrible. It was starting to cut up when the players were warming up before the Sunderland game!
wattolcfc Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 Out of interest, what is the issue with this happening? Why can't it happen? I was told that it is because there are cells under the away fans, there would be more risk of trouble having away fans walking half way around the stadium which in turn puts up policing costs and there is no real barrier between the fans in the Kop. I think they were the main reasons, I remember there were some more but I can't remember them now, it was about 3 years ago

What do you think though?, would be ovely in the summer with an icecream hut next to it.
Jakemoore Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 If you want the Kop to be moved then surely we could campaign? They can't argue with us, we're the ones that matter If you want the Kop to be moved then surely we could campaign? They can't argue with us, we're the ones that matter
Jakemoore Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 Oh I'm a bit late I didnt see that ^^ carry on
wattolcfc Posted 12 January 2011 Posted 12 January 2011 A petition didn't work before and it wouldn't again! It's all due to high policing costs and health and safety.. It's not going to happen so can we please stop talking about it NOW!
The Padster Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 It's not going to happen so can we please stop talking about it NOW! Calm down dear.... It's only a suggestion. (+100 internets for anyone who read this in that voice)
Jackirius Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 I'm still waiting for Ozwin to to volunteer himself to write a letter.
Ozwin Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 I'm still waiting for Ozwin to to volunteer himself to write a letter. So far I've got: Dear Top mate, bredwin, sensei or tileThese are our demands:
samjohnson Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 The stadium needs to change and change fast... Add another tier to the kop, add a few pillars, a triangular roof, a pylon floodlight or 2, rip the seats out of the bottom tier and ban all ******. Im not really asking for much
Len Finsbury Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 I have always thought that we were cheated when we got the new stadium. I know we were going through a financial crisis at the time but the finished article wasn't nearly as smart as the original plans, as I recall. Perhaps this is the time for us to have it finished off.
VampLCFC Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 As someone has stated on here, would be fantastic for the club and city in general if the stadium could be altered to cater for concerts and other events. Really don't see why the Thai owners would be in a rush to "extend" any stands, we struggle to fill it now.
Ross-Kemp Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 What's the difference between 31000 fans jumping up and down and singing and a concert with about 15000 people singing. Makes no sense to me !
The Padster Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 So far I've got: Are you also cutting the individual letters out of newspapers?
Rich Fox Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 What's the difference between 31000 fans jumping up and down and singing and a concert with about 15000 people singing. Makes no sense to me ! Dont laugh but I think its because fans at a concert all jump up and down at the same time and this would damage the structure of the stands. I think they can strengthen the structure of the stands but have not had the money, maybe they can do it now, not sure how much it would cost?

I think they were the main reasons, I remember there were some more but I can't remember them now, it was about 3 years ago That explains why the away fans can't be moved, but not why they can't just call the family stand the Kop and the Kop the family stand, and alter the ticket prices accordingly?
skyblueinpeace Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 your ground needs better foundations in my opinion.... when we played u and did THE poznan.... the whole stand was shaking!!!!
