Now watch Stringer get absolutely mauled on here when he simply provides a message for us all that any transfers in question didn't go through, as if it was his fault.

And the fact is that it'll be a loan deal obviously so will probably end up going through next week, even if it's not news tonight.

Oh get over. No ones blaming Stringer for the transfers, it's how he builds up any information regarding the club. He knows he's a point of information for the fans and takes advantage of that by trying to be a bigger journalist than he is.

And btw I personally love his commentary, before you accuse me of not liking the guy at all.

In fairness he's closer to the club than any other radio presenter that I can think of - if anybody remembers Mr. Barber, he's certainly a few steps up! And I don't begrudge him a bit of manipulation of his importance and contacts - in his job it's all about profile. Fair play to him.

I don't mind that, but I'm talking about how he then conveys the information he knows! Wasn't as bad in this transfer window tbh, but I remember in the summer it was pretty awful. Kept the fans hanging on his every word about Waghorn.

Sometimes he's held under 'secrecy' so to speak and isn't allowed to reveal anything until it's official or he has permission. I think if he were to release specific info about something private at the time, it could cost him his job!

Or at least all his contacts would not tell him anything in the future. You have to think that the point of him knowing things is to be able to research and be able to provide us with insightful analysis or commentary when he is allowed to announce things.

Benni Mccarthy

http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/football-hotline/2011/02/13/west-ham-s-to-pay-benni-mccarthy-to-go-on-loan-and-team-mate-zavon-hines-ready-to-leave-in-summer-102039-22918425/

West HAM are trying to get Benni McCarthy out on loan – and will pay more than 80 per cent of his £60,000-a-week salary.

The striker, 33, is being offered to Championship sides who are being told they would only have to fork out £10,000-a-week.

Another Upton Park attacker, 22-year-old Zavon Hines, is set to quit the club at the end of the season.

I did but Yakubu > McCarthy anyday so I wasn't too worried about his chunky frame. McCarthy's a bit too average for my liking though.
