I am Rod Hull Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 Whats the best beer you`ve ever had on the road watching Leicester ? 2 stand out for me... 1. A pint (few) of Mild in Blackburn (like honey) 2. Tetleys in Sheffield (4 pints in 20 minutes. didnt touch the sides) Yours ?
Unabomber Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 If you are on about beer in the ground then I tend to no waste my money. Loading up on some quality beer before is a different story though.

Matt Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 Had a few decent Cider's in Hereford in our League One season, beautiful in the sun. Can't remember what any were called. Don't tend to drink ale's or anything on most aways just stick to your bogstandard lagers and how different can a pint Stella or pint of catpiss Carling, Fosters, e.t.c be?!
Marmite Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 Definetly Cheltenham Away in the blazing sun and downing pints of Stella around the pubs in the city centre. Nice city is Cheltenham along with some quality fans
Unabomber Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 Not been to an away game in a while, but having the day off of work to go up to Sheffield nice and early. There are some seriously good places to drink up there, and having spent the last 3 years there it will be good to back up and sample some of the fine beers available again.
Uncle Phil Posted 26 January 2011 Posted 26 January 2011 Doombar, aswell as many other cornish ales, in Plymouth.

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 It annoys me that you guys can't drink in your seats, what else are you meant to do when your teams playing crap
The People's Hero Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 Doombar is a fantastic shout. Tastes great down in the SW.
Guest Bilo Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 This place is an essential ingredient of any South Yorkshire away day. Went there for a couple pre and post Barnsley this season and loved the place, some superb beers to be had.
Fosse Boy Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 Dev Cat. Nuff said. Can easily spend half a ton in there without even realising you've taken it out of your wallet. Great staff as well. Honourable mention to The Fawn in Stoke from a few years ago (we lost 4-2). I was 17 at the time, got off the train and immediately get told to wait in the pub and buses will be laid on. No joke our group were the oldest lads in there. Quote from the landlady - "We've had Villa, Spurs, everyone in here, but you're the lairiest of the lot!"
Simmo86 Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 Pubage at Preston last year was pretty good, name escapes me tho! Rotherham away promotion season was also top notch, far to intoxicated for my age!
General Smuts Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 Bar in the ground at Quorn - 3 bottles of Strongbow for £3. Wear a sparkly pink hat and shout at Ricky Sappleton. Interviewed for the radio about the nightlife in Brighton. Steal a stewards hat. Don't mind if i do.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 Never drank it before a footie match (there not being many teams in the SW) but I'll join the Doombar love-in. Top beer!
Maybes Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 Where's everyone going for sheff utd? I'll be in the Cavendish (Scream pub) from 3pm ish.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 Plenty of Doom Bar and Proper Job down here, quality pint before footy. Special shout out to Leyton Orient's supporters bar with plenty of Ales available, had many a nice pint there. Yeovil and Hereford were nice, too.

If you did mean in MK you'd have to be joking, I seem to remember the pub in MK not having any bottles, and then they were changing all the barrels, then they had no glasses, took us about 20/30 minutes to get served and it's no exageration.
PAULCFC Posted 27 January 2011 Posted 27 January 2011 The Barrels in Hereford in our l1 season......met a couple of locals before the game.Butty Bach is a really nice pint (wye valley brewery) aranged to meet up after the game as well and they told me about the beer festival they do down there in August.....so we've been for the last two years......that's what i miss about the L1 season.
Webbo Posted 29 January 2011 Posted 29 January 2011 I had some Doombar on holiday last year, rancid catpiss. Anyhoo. I had a lovely pint of Barnsley bitter bought for me by Gazzer of this forum a few years ago. I still feel a little guilty that I've never seen him since to buy him one back.
Sparky Posted 30 January 2011 Posted 30 January 2011 Zulu bar ,Fulham The Metropolitan / The Globe(Baker Street) , any London away games Couple of good uns on Southend front Couple of good un at Grimsby
Tommeh Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Papillon in Southend. What a dirty, filthy, hectic legendary and down right incredible night that was. Only place that let Leicester in after we'd won the league and ended up with 50 of us bossing it, telling the DJ what to play and old bill on every entrance.
