MC Prussian Posted 16 March 2011 Posted 16 March 2011 Now try to read that with Milan's voice off-screen. I bet first they'll get relegated to League Two, only to go up the following season and Mandy will be hailing himself as the "saviour". I feel sorry for the disgruntled and disappointed Sheffield Wednesday fans. Going from playoff contender to potential relegation fodder within a couple of months must be heartbreaking. If they were financially stable (like Mandy claims in said statement), don't you think that would reflect on the team's performance on the pitch?
Corky Posted 16 March 2011 Posted 16 March 2011 Milan isn't the most patient man in the world? His honesty is refreshing.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 March 2011 Posted 16 March 2011 I don't see how you can wish that on any club and/or any fans. Well I do. Nothing against Wednesday, but I can't help but like seeing they've lost at the minute.
CKB Posted 16 March 2011 Posted 16 March 2011 I'm counting down the days this thread title changes to... Mandaric sacks Irvine and appoints Megson then sacks Megson and appoints Dowie
tartanowl Posted 16 March 2011 Posted 16 March 2011 How has this happened Tartan? I know Peterborough are banging in goals left, right and centre but surely you shouldn't be conceding four at home to them? We are conceding 2+ goals every game without fail at the moment Corky. Our defence is atrocious. We are the worst team form wise in the League by an absolute mile. I was being serious when I said put money on us to go down! We've been chopping and changing constantly and nothing seems to work. Players like Clinton Morrison, Neil Mellor and Darren Potter have thrown the towel in. They have given up and don't care. If I could sack all 3 of them tonight I would. Rubbish, living on past reputations, not giving 50% nevermind 100%, they are stealing a wage. Michael Morrison has been back in the side the last 2 games and yet again he has been absolutely atrocious. I'm beginning to think we've been mugged. Not as bad and error prone as our other new signing Reda Johnson but he looks equally club footed. Morrison was at fault for a goal last night and looks good for gifting at least 1 goal a game to the opposition. Unbelievably Reda the other centre back is worse. This is without doubt our lowest ebb and it will be our lowest ever finish in over 140 years of playing football. I'm absolutely terrified that we will sink to the bottom division for the first time in our history. At present the way we are playing it is a distinct possibility. We're on SKY on Saturday playing Southampton at St Marys so have a watch and see for yourself. We're going to get battered again. Yet again I'll be going but I'm questioning my support just now. They don't deserve me and thousands of others going week in week out. Now try to read that with Milan's voice off-screen. The week Milan tookover we were comfortably in the automatics, 2nd in the league, 3 points behind Brighton, with the best goal difference (+17) in the league. Three months later we are now 16th, 18 points off the playoffs, 7 points from relegation, with a -2 goal difference. It is absolutely frightening the way we have fallen. As for financially stable, we now have no debt other than what we owe to Mandaric which is nominal. The Co-op wrote off the near £20m that they were owed.
Nick Posted 17 March 2011 Posted 17 March 2011 The Mandaric Playbook running well then, business as usual: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/sheff_wed/9426497.stm
Finnegan Posted 17 March 2011 Posted 17 March 2011 I was never one of Morrison's huge fans at Leicester but he's definitely a good enough player for that level. I'm sure he does appear rubbish at the moment but he came to you lacking confidence and it doesn't sound like you're much of an outfit to improve that side of his game. Stick with him and try not to use him as a scapegoat. I don't mean to pull the "we're a massive side" card, but he was a big part of our promotion campaign and helped get us into the Championship play offs. Not being funny but, "if he's good enough for us..."
Wymsey Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Massive game for them tonight at St.Mary's. With the injury problems Southampton have at the minute, i reckon the Owls will win this one.

Im honestly bewildered about your comments concerning Morrison. Not because i dont believe you - i have no reason not to but he has had a few good games for us this year in the championship and a few average ones also. he was a rock in our promotion winning year from the 1st division too and became a big hit with the fans. I can only assume the circumstances he now finds himself in are a complete shock to him and his confidence is shot. I am beginning to think that he gained alot of confidence from playing with the experienced players he had around him at leicester and gained that little bit extra breathing space from being around better players. That isnt intended as an insult. He joined us from non-league football and immediately joined a team that had a Pearson winning mentality very quickly drilled into them. so im guessing part of the issue with him is his lack of experience in being in a team that is losing alot of games and is struggling for confidence and cohesion as a unit. He thrived in having leaders around him. Pearson being a defender himself and a well organised manager seems to of brought the best out of him aswell, it seems. However crap players cant play blinders but good players can play badly. If the team gels together you will see a remarkably different morrison and a much more confident one too. That might not happen this season but give him a pre-season with his team mates too with the slate wiped clean and the pressure of not being in free-fall will help him no end. A fresh start with allow him to breath.. - I refuse to believe you will get relegated no matter how badly you are playing right now... Good luck. i mean it.
