filbertway Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 If you don't appreciate svens overall impact, you're clearly a bell!
Simmo86 Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Thought this was going to be a thread with a news story about how Sven had started laying the pipe throughout Leicestershire! How dissapointing!
Corky Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 The Wednesday fans have wanted him out for months, they are closer to relegation than promotion and have been playing below expectations all season with apparent 'negative football' against the likes of Yeovil and Walsall. I think you'd need to be pretty tolerant to give Irvine any longer, this isn't a Mandaric random sacking, you could see this coming a mile off. They'll be over the moon with this appointment then!
Guest Bilo Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Sorry Wednesday but here is a brief synopsis of your next game. KICK-OFF Hoof. Hoof. Hoof. Head. Tackle. Throw. Hoof. Hoof. Hoof. Head. GOAL! Defend. Defend. Defend. Tackle. Hoof. Hoof. Hoof. HALF TIME Swap right winger for right back. Swap striker for centre back. Hoof. Hoof. Hoof. Hoof. Defend in greater numbers. Defend in greater numbers. Hoof. CONCEDE GOAL, Defend to sit on draw. Hoof. Hoof. Hoof. Head. Tackle. Hoof. FULL TIME.(BOOOOO!)

Guest Bilo Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Fantastic stuff, then. Sheffield United at home, 2007. Megson rumoured to fancy the Bolton job. We were absolute shit and the chanted pleas of Megson to Bolton were granted when he pissed off the next day. Fan power.
Corky Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Watch out for startling team selections too. We had a great win at Aston Villa in the Carling Cup, our strikeforce of Fryatt and Hume played very well, so for the next game he drops them both.

Wednesday were the best team I've seen us play at home since Spurs at the National Hockey Stadium. They were fantastic everywhere, playing great passing football. I think problems ran deeper than people thought and Irvine would have sorted them out.
Salieri Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Megson is a decent appointment by Wednesday, reckon he'll take them up either this year or next. If he sticks around, of course.
Blue Bob Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Wow! Totally amazed by this one! Meson shafted Mandy a couple of years go, and now he has one back for more!!! Very odd!!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 I know Megson is a gash manager for the most part, but he did give someone their debut.......
ajthefox Posted 5 February 2011 Posted 5 February 2011 Wow! Totally amazed by this one! Meson shafted Mandy a couple of years go, and now he has one back for more!!! Very odd!! This is what surprised me the most as well, can't believe MM would want him back. Feel sorry for Wednesday fans, although with the squad you've got it'd be hard for even megson to go backwards.

I think problems ran deeper than people thought and Irvine would have sorted them out. There was little middle ground with Irvine. We were either brilliant or atrocious. I agree we were fantastic at your place, we were even better at Hartlepool and should have scored double figures that day, but equally against Exeter and Leyton Orient away we were appalling. We have one of (if not) the strongest squads in the division. We are criminally under-performing and a change was needed. I'm just gutted that it's Megson that has been brought in. I hope he will turn it round for us and he will have my support like any Wednesday manager, but he wouldn't have been choice. We don't have the players for his 'brand' of football.
Corky Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 3-0 defeat at Tranmere tonight, Wednesday now 16th in League One. Tartan
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 Hahahahahahaha! *Not due to a Wednesday dislike, merely a Mandaric / Megson HATRED

accessory Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 Could Mandaric soon have ANOTHER relegation on his CV?
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 Could Mandaric soon have ANOTHER relegation on his CV? If he says how much he backs Megson and says how much of an honest guy he is, it would be a good idea for him to start looking for another job.
davieG Posted 16 February 2011 Author Posted 16 February 2011 If he says how much he backs Megson and says how much of an honest guy he is, it would be a good idea for him to start looking for another job. Megson probably already is, well he did at LCFC.
Corky Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 I don't think Wednesday will go down, but they won't get in the top six.
accessory Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 There's no way they SHOULD go down, but as we all know, the same was said about us in 07-08.
