cc_star Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Not adverse to him going out on loan, just shame its to a closer rival than Derby or someone. As to what will happen in the summer with only Bamba & Tunchev on our books... we'll have to wait & see where we are I suppose, although even if we get knocked out of the playoffs (assuming we get there) I can see Sven signing a whole new team
MikeyT Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 SSN Hull City manager Nigel Pearson has raided former club Leicester City to finalise the loan signing of Jack Hobbs. The defender has joined the Tigers until the end of the season after falling down the pecking order at Leicester in recent weeks. Foxes boss Sven Goran Eriksson is confident that the 22-year-old will benefit from the opportunity to play regular first-team football under Pearson at the KC Stadium. "It will be good for Jack, of course," said Eriksson. "He is young, he is our player and he needs to play football. Good talent "He is a good talent and you don't know how good he could be in the next couple of seasons. "I don't think the manager of Hull would have asked him if he hasn't plans to play him. "It is good for Jack. We loan him out but we do it for him and for ourselves as well. We want him to develop through playing as much football as possible." Hobbs arrived at Leicester from Liverpool in the summer of 2009 following a season-long loan deal at the Walkers Stadium. He has now made 130 appearances in total for the club and only last season was voted player of the year and players' player of the year.
Wymsey Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 only last season was voted player of the year and players' player of the year. This is why i'm against him going out on loan to a another play-off contender.

Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 if pearson gets him playing like he did last season then he wont come back
davieG Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Hull fans seem somewhat bemused as to why they've signed him, I'm betting that if he starts they'll be asking the same questions as many fans on here - why are we playing a loanee when the present incumbents have been performing well and done nothing to warrant being dropped - it's a funny old game. http://www.ambernectar.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=6729

But we need more mobile ball playing centre halfs now and he doesnt fit the bill! Onwards and Upwards :sge: I get the impression from that Hull Forum that they think they're signing all our top players??.........don't think they realise Hobbs and Fatty couldn't get a sniff anymore!
Babylon Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Rather he wasn't going hull, but I could see it would end in tears when Cunningham seemed to give him a bollocking almost every game for doing something stupid when he had time to play the ball out.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 I feel for Hobbs a bit, anyone who's met him has always said what a decent, 'feet on the ground' type of person he is, and he was monstrous last season. There can't be any room for sentiment in what we're trying to acheive though, and, if Sven can bring in better, he should. If Hobbs can iron out his flaws he could be a reliable Premier League defender in the future, unfortunately I don't think it'll be with us. Can't help but wish him all the best, and thank him for being solid for two seasons.

Problem is, being at Hull isnt going to make him any better on the ball, he will go back to NP style centre half just hoof it away. He won't be back and we'll have better in the future.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Have you actually been to any of the training sessions to know that he hasn't been working his arse off? Are you actually questioning Svens decisions?
Fox1651 Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Have you actually been to any of the training sessions to know that he hasn't been working his arse off? He cant be working that hard or playing that well else he would be in the team and not loaned out, are you actually questioning SGE and his judgements? In Sven :sge: we trust
B52 Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Lets see, Hull meets Cardiff, Millwall and Norwich at home. And Forest, QPR, Swansea and Watford away.... If Hull makes it difficult for them I think Pearson, Hobbs and Fryatt can be a semi-heros for us.. Maybe they can follow us up....

That's how I'm trying to see it, but they are 3 pts behind us with a better GD, so if we slip up they could be above us. If we keep winning it won't matter, but one slip up & Hobbs will be assisting a team in keeping us out the play-offs. Crazy situation. Let's hope we keep winning

Let's hope we keep winning I can honestly say that if Hull is above us and we miss play-offs we're not ready to go up. I'm an optimist but enough realist to realize that. If so we always have next season but I will enjoy this season first instead of being a miserable moaning fan. I don't think Hull will have better GD when we reach April.

Does that make me an optimistic pessemist and you an optimistic optimist and furthermore does that make Gennaro Gattuso a diplomat?
blueredswed Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 I must say (as I not have following Leicester so long) that Hoobs is the man for the future. He must learn Svens thinking and probably does when hes come back from Hull. And during summer with Sven he KNEWS what heas gotta do
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 bluewedsred. You're more English than high tea at Buckingham Palace.
