MC Prussian Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 Been mentioned on tonight's Radio Leicester Phone-In. Celtic, apparently.
Jay Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 International transfer window is closed so he can't go to Celtic on loan
JamesLCFC Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 International transfer window is closed so he can't go to Celtic on loan is celtic "international" surely its classed as a british transfer?
Jimothy Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 is celtic "international" surely its classed as a british transfer? England and Scotland have different FA's, so surely it's International.
Edmund Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 It's a shame if true. This time last year we were dubbing him as a future England centre back. If he does go out on loan, I'd rather see him at Celtic than see us strengthen Hulls defence.
Jackirius Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 I saw Neil Lennon with Jack Hobbs at Morrisons earlier.
crazylegs1984 Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 He isn't getting game time and I certainly don't mind him being sent out on loan espially to Celtic would be great game experience then sitting on the bench here although I do think he deserves a starting spot here rather then somewhere else
cc_star Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 Stringer said Waggy was joining Derby & one other was leaving this week, subject to a replacement signing. Realistically Derby ain't getting in the play-offs so if someone assists them in taking points off our play-off rivals? Just a bit of local pride we'll have to swallow, worth it to get in the Prem?
Dan Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 I'd love to know how loaning Hobbs out to Derby would boost our Prem push.
Matt Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 England and Scotland have different FA's, so surely it's International. So do the Welsh, but Swansea/Cardiff seem to go under both.

Derby wont make the play offs. they get good players, they play better. they might do well against other teams hunting for the play offs. we benefit.

Derby wont make the play offs. they get good players, they play better. they might do well against other teams hunting for the play offs. we benefit. Of course it could realistically mean that he doesn't see them as being here in the long term. After all if we do manage to go up this season what are there chances of playing for us in the Prem? It could also be that even if we do not go up this season they may well be surplus for next season. I know they are favourites in many peoples eyes and I like them too but if better players are to come in and they need to be moved on because of it then so be it.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 Poor decision wherever he goes on loan (Celtic preferable though)

He was the player of the season for a reason. Very few people would have said he couldn't play in the Prem last season. This season's been a struggle for him but class is permanent and he showed he has class last season and this season in patches. It annoys me that we are just letting a player like this go. I'm convinced that if he had a run of games with Bamba we would see his form from last season.
Matt Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 Centre-back Bruma to join #lcfc on loan from #chelsea and Jack Hobbs to join #celtic until the end of the season. Could all happen tomorrow

cc_star Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 Thank goodness he's not going to a rival, shame its not a footballing side though. He'll get game time which he needs but it would have been nice if went to a team where you had to be comfortable on the ball so as to improve one of his development areas. Good lucks Hobbs
Kitchandro Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 I'm sure plenty believe this is the right choice but I'm very disappointed. Gutted even. He's still got loads of potential IMO.
Salieri Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 Disappointed, but clearly Sven doesn't rate Hobbs (or Waghorn).

I'm convinced that if he had a run of games with Bamba we would see his form from last season. He's shown nothing this season that suggests he can re-capture his form from last season. Even in the games he's played well in (Millwall away for instance) he's still cost us goals. One thing that was missing from Hobbs's game even last season was toughness. And I mean a real mean streak that most central defenders need. Last season he left that side of things to Wayne Brown. Going to Scotland will do him the world of good and playing under Lennon might help him bring that side of his game to the fore. He does have it in him otherwise he wouldnt have belted Sousa. Unfortunately he reverted to type and cried about it after. Can you imagine the talent of Hobbs combined with the attitude of Steve Walsh? If he had that in his game he really would be irreplaceable. At the minute though he looks so shaky on the ball it's best he doesnt play at this level as his confidence is diminishing with every second he stays on the pitch.
