Webbo Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 Tis quite cheap as well. My mum changed her name. Think it cost her, like £20. The thing is that's what I'm known as. I can't just ask people to start calling me something else. I'm used to it now. I can stand a little embarrassment.
Uncle Phil Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 Me and a couple of other uncles, Monty and Benn, planned to make this place Uncle Foxestalk. Hence our uncle names. It's still gonna happen. You'll see.
lcfcadam Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 Makes me to think i may change my name as i don't live in the Leicestershire village for the time being. That reads like a dodgy Google Translate... On the topic, well doubt mine really needs any explaining at all.

I can stand a little embarrassment. Yeah i get what you mean and to be fair no matter how much i loathed my name i don't think i could ever change it. It's part of who you are.
davieG Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 After Davie Gibson the very best player I've ever seen playing for Leicester City FC. My real name is John and I'd loved to have been called Webster.
StanSP Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 Webster's alright. Never known someone called it and I like it! Keep it. Unless you're gonna change your name to:

StanSP Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 Wasn;t having a go. Was just saying how great a name it is and it'd be pretty good to change it to Mr Phani. How about Phani Webster? That way you keep the original
Jimothy Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 My last name used to be Aistrup before I changed it by deed poll, (long story) and it was always my nickname at school. Playing football once everyone kept shouting my name and the lads we were playing against misheard and asked one of my mates why everyone called me Facecloth, which apparently sounds like Aistrup. It's stuck ever since and become one of my many nicknames.

Bellend Sebastian Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 A simple childish play on the name of probably my fave band of the last 15 years and also the name of my imaginary tribute band to same. It seemed like a good idea at the time (and probably still is) but it had never occurred to me that people would cheerily greet me as 'Bellend' when meeting other FTers. That's not great planning

Jimothy Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 It really doesn't though. Well the first part of Aistrup is pronounced ace so I can see where they got from, but yeah, strup and cloth sound nothing alike. Oh well I guess Facecloth is different.
Matt Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 Because i'm not inventive enough to come up with a quirky user name, so I just used my name.
Jimothy Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 Because i'm not inventive enough to come up with a quirky user name, so I just used my name. I would never have guessed.
Libertine Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 Because i'm not inventive enough to come up with a quirky user name, so I just used my name. Ah, I've always wondered...
Bellend Sebastian Posted 17 February 2011 Posted 17 February 2011 You sure it's a greeting ? Well I THOUGHT they were FTers...
