Jimbo Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Lets not forget that while it may add pressure on Ricardo, it's also questioning Sven's team selection. I'm sure he'd be more unhappy at the chanting than anyone. The only good that can come of it is that Chris Weale gets a bit of an ego boost, but I'd guess that even he is embarassed by it Seems to be the same set of fans every week starting up stuff like this, they've all of a sudden decided that they are better fans than everybody else. Usually the clowns sat behind me in SK3/4. When they start singing songs that everyone enjoys, or stop singing the ones that we can join in with at 100 mph, then they might get more of a response. As it stands most who sit around me, while we can be loud, purposely don't join in and you will hear the odd muttering of "shut up you b*ll ends" So then we get chants of "it's so ****ing quiet we'll sing on our own" which makes the rest of the crowd dislike them more. I love it when they chant "loyal supporters though" Kinda ironic when they start the anti Ricardo chants and they're the first to boo if we're not playing well
Aylestone Fox Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 I dont see what all the fuss is about, what did Ricardo do SO wrong tonight? Yeah he dropped a couple of crosses but bare in mind he was being challenged heavily by the strikers at the time of trying to do so, we should be thankful we have the option to choose between the proven calibre of Ricardo and the obvious fans favourite of Weale. I like them both so dont mind which one gets the nod personally, I take alot of tonights moans with a pinch of salt as it was a poor performance from us compared to what we have witnessed recently, but no-one is going to lie down and let us dictate the game. Lets keep the faith with Sven and his choices as he has taken us to within a point or two of the play offs with plenty of games left to achieve the target, no need to fear the likes of Cardiff/QPR or Norwich either as they arent as good as they'd like us to think they are.. We are Leicester City, and we are going up...! :sge:
Austin Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 I did feel at times that I'd have prefered Weale in goal but like whats already been said it's not helping Ricardo hearing fans chanting Weale. My main concern is with teams like cardiff coming up and the ability of Bellamy, Bothroyd and that little shit Chopra if Ricardo plays we're in for a real tough test That said, support who's on the pitch. Simples.
phillthefox Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 firstly last night was a game we didnt deserve to win, yet again we got 3 points. second ricardo is new to english football as was abe as is ben mee(well first team football) so lets give these guys a break..... think back to where we were under sousa to where we are now... secondly. i agree that people pay there money and can chant sing shout abuse do what ever they like, but we all need to sing from same hym sheet and get behind the boys... thirdly.. some people that come on these forums really need to chill out a bit, and some of the comments certain moaners make seem to be while the games being played, home or away so i question why they are moaning so much about peoples comments when they dont even go to the games....... fourthly.... see you all at cardiff tuesday night for another showing WAGHORN WAGHORN WAGHORN FEED THE YAK AND HE WILL SCORE SOL SOL BAMBA GAAAAAAAAALLAGHER GAAAAAAAALLAGHER ANDY KING ANDY KING AAANDY AAANDY KING WHEN HE GETS THE BALL HE SCORES A GOAL AAANDY AAANDY KING IN SVEN WE TRUST ... :sge:
FuriousFox46 Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 The negativity from some fans was shocking last night One person commented at 80 minutes that there was only 10 minutes left of the season. Do they expect to win EVERY game?
LCFC_ED Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 i think that weale has been treated unfairly tbh, he was playing well. we should have let him carry on that way and then give ricardo a chance if weale got injured or started to play badly. having said that as it was ricardo who was selcected i think shouting weale chants was not going to help the performance of the team.
Fosse Boy Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 I'll shout Weale for 90 minutes straight. Ricardo's shocking. Distribution worse than Wayne Brown. You absolute wand. I am, and always have been, one of Weale's biggest advocates. Even in his rough spell earlier this season I still had an inkling he'd come good again and, by and large, he has (the odd shot from raneg aside). Ricardo does make me shaky, he adds nothing to the side and I'd vastly prefer to see Weale recalim his spot in goal. That said, when you're a Leicester City supporter you SUPPORT the XI who are on the pitch. If someone's having a shocker getting on their back ain't gonna make them play any fucking better is it? Get behind the lads. Fuck just singing when you're winning, the lads need you most when they're not at their best. If we were 6-0 down last night and all six goals were the direct result of a howler by Ricardo then I could maybe understand the Neolithic drones of "WEE-UL! WEE-UL!" emerging from all corners. But at 1-1 it's downright embarrassing. If all the morons who only ever raise their voice in anger if the ref's done summat shit or a pass goes wayward actually sung up in support of their team we'd probably have the best atmosphere in England.
Messi Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 I thought it was pathetic, and he didn't play too badly. Although I prefer Weale, Ricardo was playing so I supported him. L1's chants of 'Loyal Supporters & You only came for pie and pint' was abit stupid aswell to be honest. I'm a ST holder so it dosent apply to me, but the people who went last night have still spent money to go to the game, and are injecting money into the club so its only a good thing. Yes it does wind me up that some of the 6k that went Man City wouldn't be seen dead at Bristol away etc, but to have 28k at home on a Friday night is a good effort.
MC Prussian Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 I see the happy-clappies are out in force because we won. But can anyone really say they'll feel more confident against Cardiff or QPR with Ricardo in goal? I'd feel more confident about Cardiff or QPR away if I knew the midfield would actually be doing the job they're paid for and step up to the plate. I have more of an issue with Wellens, Oakley and King after their awful performance last night than I do with Ricardo (who actually made a couple of decent saves). To single out your own (new) goalkeeper, who has been with the club for about two to three weeks now, and to chant the name of the other No.1 during a match is part-disgraceful, part-moronic. There's probably still some bitter haters out there who can't forgive Ricardo for kicking England out of two major tournaments in the past. Next time, they'd better offer a pint & brain for the desperate in L1/K1.
Bugg Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 For the record, I'm in K1 and I didn't join in with the Weale chants because I don't want to get on Ricardo's back (let's face it, he won't play better with it). Don't tar us all with the same brush because there's some moronic chants that go around in L1/K1.

tomtom Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 L1 fans can't think of anything intelligent to sing so have to come out with that pie and pint shit, they sang something similar the night we lifted the league trophy! They should ask the fosseboys for some of theirs!!... and even though I really want weale in goal you support whoevers between the sticks during the match!!
jamesmilner Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 i paid for my ticket to shout what i wanted ! but was for shouting for oakley to be replaced all game , why is he playing ? gave the ball away , easily knocked off the ball andhis marking when needed was non existant . AND HE IS OUR CAPTAIN ! ricardo is shocking too ! i think we could have brought off oakley put weale in goal and ricardo on pitch for oakley , would have been better !

tomtom Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Obviously not everyone in there is a complete doghnut but the majority don't do the rest any favours!

Don't disagree with your point but it's hardly a constructive way to spend your time is it? He's in a blue shirt, so you support him as far as I'm concerned.
Itsthejoeker Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Anyone who pulls on a Leicester shirt deserves the full backing of the fans. To be honest I didn't think he played that bad. How many of the fans chanting Weale's name slagged him off about not being able to save long shots?
jamesmilner Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 he wears a blue shirt and waves at opponents fans (derby at that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and not his own . works both ways im afraid .

He said that he only did it because he left them suddenly and never had the chance to say thanks to the LOYAL fans. He probably wishes he stayed there sometimes with some of the stupid chanting going on during games. Sven is the best manager we have had in years and one of the best in the world imo. If he picks Oakley, then I back his decision and support whoever plays which is what you should do. If you are unsure of what to do during games, look up the definition of supporter, I assure you it doesn't say slate your own team whilst they are playing. Chanting against your own players can only have negative consequences so just shut up and moan afterwards! Edit: I paid for my ticket to support Leicester
Corky Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Really don't see the point of it. Chanting for other players isn't going to help the confidence of those who are playing. Get behind the first 11, then support the replacements.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 I agree noone should openly sort of condemn Ricardo whilst he's playing. But i wonder if the same people who agree with this also reuse to book Oakley

But you've let yourself down generalising about L1 fans being unintelligent. Yeh there are some right nobs up there, I sit three rows in front of one. As for the pie and pint chant, I don't see the problem with that. I thought it was quite witty and also true!!
Bettsj2 Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 I wonder how many people who feel it's acceptable to chant Weale whilst Ricardo is in goal thought Mandric was out of order having Paulo Sousa as his guest at the play offs last year?
