darko2k7 Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 Confidence in the camp is high after the Foxes recorded their fifth successive win by beating Bristol City 2-1 on Friday evening. The home side could have gone ahead within the first few minutes of the game, but Yakubu hit his effort from 10 yards well wide. The Nigerian striker did make amends for his earlier miss on 21 minutes. Sol Bamba drilled the ball into the six yard box before Robins' goalkeeper, David James, spilled the ball for Yakubu to tap home for the opener. After not offering too much in the first half, the visitors levelled the game on 57 minutes. Marvin Elliot grabbed the equaliser after he converted Jamie McAllister's corner kick. Albert Adomah then went close for the Robins when he tested City 'keeper Ricardo. Adomah fired in an effort from 20 yards which Ricardo did well to push away for a corner. The game looked to be heading for a draw until Martyn Waghorn found the winning goal deep into injury time. Lewin Nayatanga's clearance hit Matt Oakley to set up Waghorn. His rasping effort left James stranded and sparked celebrations amongst the 28,000 strong home crowd. Eriksson's men will be looking to make it six wins in six as they face promotion rivals Cardiff City on Tuesday evening. A win could see the Foxes move into the play-off positions for the first time this season. The Bluebird's go into the game having lost just one game in their previous six. The defeat came in their last match against fellow promotion candidates Nottingham Forest. Forest took the lead at the City Ground on 32 minutes when Wes Morgan rose above the Cardiff defence to convert the corner. Peter Whittingham levelled the game from the penalty spot after Swyi Olofinjana was felled by Forest captain Paul McKenna. The 2,000 away supporters' celebrations were cut short three minutes later, when the home side took the lead once again. Rob Earnshaw slipped in behind the visitors defence and calmly slotted home past Tom Heaton in the Cardiff goal. Dave Jones will be looking for his team to consolidate their position in the play-off zone with a win on Tuesday evening. The Bluebirds will also be looking to avenge the 2-1 defeat they suffered at the Walkers Stadium earlier this season. topharry123 Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 If we're really going to challenge for the play offs and the top 2, we need something out of this game. All the teams above us with the exception of Cardiff have games they could easily win, so a loss hear could put us back to where we were a few games ago.
Haydos Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 Wheeeey, 6th Cardiff match thread 4 hours and counting
Bausor Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 Both teams will score goals imo it`l be either 2-1 0r 3-1 but to who i dont know
darko2k7 Posted 22 February 2011 Author Posted 22 February 2011 Don't know why but a maybe silly thought crept into my head today, with everyone talking about it being a tough game and being tight , I can just Imagen us surprising everyone and stomping them into the ground 4/5-1 . Don't know why just get a funny feeling the game will not go as expected . <_<
ousefox Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 Have a feeling this will end up in a 0-0 bore draw
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 2-1 loss. Will bring everyone on here down to earth. Take the lead, and then get over powered.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 We will lose - sad to say (and desperately hope im proved wrong) 2-1 to Cardiff
cc_star Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 City: Ricardo, Van Aanholt, Gallagher, King ©, Dyer, Bruma, Naughton, Wellens, Yakubu, Bamba, Mee Subs: Weale, Berner, Vitor, Oakley, Abe, Waghorn, Vassel Dyer in for Vassell & Bruma makes his debut in for Oakley, so either him or Bamba is playing the deeper role
Joeb.lcfc Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 First XI: Ricardo,Naughton,Bamba,Mee,Van Aanholt,Bruma,King,Wellens,Dyer,Yak,Gally Subs: Weale,Vitor,Vassell,Oakley,Abe,Waggy,berner
STUHILL Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 I went for draw as my heart says win, head says loss, so a draw it is!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 Bruma in midfield is interesting, its good that Oakley isnt starting though. Dyer in for Vassell was likely due to DV not being fully fit.
Wymsey Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 Not sure considering Dyer's on there + maybe Ricardo too. Is Dyer up front? or is it a 4-3-3 with Gally, Yak and Dyer upfront?
davieG Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 Is that 5 at the back or Bruma/Bamba in midfield?
Joeb.lcfc Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 Is that 5 at the back or Bruma/Bamba in midfield? Bruma in mid
Guest ttfn Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 Is that 5 at the back or Bruma/Bamba in midfield? Presumably Bruma in midfield - Sven has never been one for 5 at the back. Astonished Abe not starting - you'd have thought he'd be just the chap to chase Bellamy all game
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 Is that 5 at the back or Bruma/Bamba in midfield? I'd assume usual formation with Bruma/Bamba in midfield (most likely Bruma) Cant see us playing 5 at the back, with two central midfielders and three attacking options. Unless its 5-4-1, but why would we change the formation?
ScouseFox Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 5-2-3? Surely not. Bruma/Bamba behind Wellens and King I'd assume.
B52 Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 Wonder if Cardiff will know what hit'em tonight. Abe, Vassell and Waggy as subs if a change is needed. Great last 15 minutes. 4-1 maybe 4-0 if Bruma makes all the difference.
MikeyT Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 Interesting team selection. Where on Earth will Bruma play? Thought he was an out and out CB? No Abe or Vassell? Weale on the bench. Confused.com
StanSP Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 I thought Bruma would be centre back and Bamba as DM instead of Abe/Oakley. Same formation as previously, just a change of personnel I think. Hope Sven's choices pay off. Come on Leicester!!
lcfcadam Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 Sven must know something fairly serious that we don't - well I guess let's have faith until things get going and we can figure out if this selection was inspired or stupid... :sge:
lcfcsnow Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 I suppose Sven has to fit these loan players in considering how much they've cost.. Not sure about Dyer starting, more of an impact sub for me.
Libertine Posted 22 February 2011 Posted 22 February 2011 Guess Bamba is in midfield for an added bit of steel over Abe. Not a bad idea considering they have Olofinjana in their team.
