Matt Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 I didn't expect much honestly, a draw at best, but due to a late goal I think playoff hopes are over. Feel more than free to "bump" this thread if we do make the playoffs - or even better win them, I'll be more than happy to be proved wrong, believe me! Prove me wrong City! ...I dare ya!
Webbo Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 Blackpool weren't certain of the play offs until the last game of the season. Keep the faith lads.
Narborough_fox Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 5 points behind 6th with 33 avaliable. Anything is possible!
zynxus Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 we have got to the point where there is very little margin for error, a last minute qualification to the play offs will make victory taste that much sweeter i love an exciting climax :sge:
Uncle Phil Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 Still quite a few games, the teams above us will drop points. It's gonna go to the wire. The dream is not over yet!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 Come on City i hope i dream . . . play-offs PLEASE!!!!
LCFC94 Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 Keep our home form going, put in displays away like today as against a lesser team we would of took 3points and i think that the play off's are still a realistic target, remember we've still got to play Burnley at home!
ScouseFox Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 Whacked it in the QPR Post Match thread, but yeah, did a predictor after today's game and the final table looks like this: So yeah, it's gonna go to the wire I reckon.

dave the caveman Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 Projections of season form suggest we'll need 76 points to finish 6th. 24 points from 11 games. So 8-0-3 or 7-3-1 will do it. I don't think we'll make it now personally, and we certainly don't deserve to now that we've come up against the top teams and been found wanting.
Callabinho Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 5 points behind 6th with 33 avaliable. Anything is possible! that kind puts things into perspective, 5 points behind with a possible 33 to play for, sounds very silly when people say its over, me included....
shailen Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 Forest are dropping, norwich and leeds will drop points so can we take advantage! Firstly norwich we must beat and then scunny! From our remaining 11 games i think at minimum we need 7 wins. But go on a 5 game winning streak now, that makes 2 wins from last 6 needed. We can do this! Not many top teams left to play now! Norwich, forest and burnley will be our hardest but two of them are at home!

Exactly my point, the worry is though due to the amount piled in by the owners this year just purely on loans mean the losses could be disastrous, and what happens to players like Wellens and King, as Loyal as the lad is if Everton offer a good enough deal to him he may well find it to good to refuse, Thats why I am hanging on to a glimmer of hope. If we do not go up part of me is worried to what the summer break holds.....

One player doesn't make the team and in the Thai owners and SGE I'm confident that we will be promoted this season or next.

I see your point, I think is Sven was willing to let him go it would not be cheap, Andy Carrol has now sent the Transfer market Yappy following his obscene price! I wouldn't put it past Sven to slap an £8 million price on his head!
Corky Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 There are 33 points to play for, by this time next Saturday it could be looking a lot better for us.
deep blue Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 There are 33 points to play for, by this time next Saturday it could be looking a lot better for us. You can read positives into any situation. A few games ago I was more confident of getting into the play-offs, but not of winning them, because of the quality of the other teams above us. But if we get into the play-offs from our position today, it will require a fantastic run to have achieved it. It follows that we will be the most in-form team when the play-offs start, and therefore in the perfect position to "do a Blackpool" and to gain promotion. Now, where did I put that white powder...

Nobodys going to prove you wrong my dear boy, you have made a wise choice of words, I am sure you are sad, maybe even abit blubbery.....Here's a strong comforting arm around you....
m00nie Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 thats the 3rd game in a row now we are saying theres still time and so the more we keep saying it the less time we have so i think we may have blown it now..
B52 Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 If someone wonders if we have a chance, look at how much Notts Forest have lost...
The Doctor Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 jesus - we are 5 points off with 11 games to go and have been averaging 2.1 points per game since the turn of the year. it's still very much possible.
acooling08 Posted 6 March 2011 Posted 6 March 2011 Still possible but our chances are slipping with every point lost. The last 3 games have been very damaging.
