I geniunely don't think King would leave us for them.

Maybe not West Brom, but I can guarantee there'll be other clubs sniffing around. Only a week or so ago there were rumours that Everton would go for him (granted, it was the Daily Mail). If he ends the season well, there'll be some clubs asking around.

Obviously, I'd rather keep him than sell him to anyone. He's too key to lose right now and I think Sven knows and sees how important he is to us and in our 'mission' to get to the Premier League.

If they do come in for him, let's hope it's a derisory offer so we can tell them where to go.

I'd be looking to keep him for a while yet.

Never gonna happen:

1) Kingy is Leicester through and through

2) He needs to be a regular starter to get in the Wales team.

3) Sven/Thais won't let him go.

4) If hodgsons' only time watching King was against Norwich, then they won't want him!

I'd like to think that 1) is 100% true, but there's just a little thought in the back of my mind that if enough money was offered to him and/or his agent, then he might leave. I don't want it to happen, obviously, but loyalty is scarce in football these days. Mattock was Leicester through and through, followed the same route as King i.e. through the academy and being an established first-teamer, but he jumped ship.

And as for 4), they won't base opinions just on one game. They'd be naive to.

Wouldn't be suprised if he leaves it will only be a matter of time till he gets pissed off with playing in the championship! But hes much better than west brom if he goes somewhere like that he could be back in the championship the season after. Anything under 7.5M would be a bargin if charlie adams worth 10M!

Whilst i think there will be a big turnover of players this summer - I can't imagine us losing loads of key players/not spending much........cos surely the thai's have bought us with a plan for if we didn't get up this season. I think this season's plan was get promotion if possible - but with a low amount of player investment.

We didn't actually spend much at all before the season so i think that proves this.

Reasons to not worry about next season's investments........surely if we had got promotion as they wanted - they'd be investing in the team anyway? I know that lots of that would come from getting promoted in the first place

Fact remains anything could happen........They could give Sven 10-15 M for the summer and we could storm the league next season or.......it could go very different

He doesn't have the kind of impact on games that Adam does though. He's a good player but our five man midfield has helped him this season, he's alot less effective in a 442, much similar to Lampard (for England). I'd rate Dorrans as a better player too, he was the driving force for WBA when they went up, King isn't able to stamp his authority on a game yet.

heres a question - would you rather have king who doesnt have much of an impact but scores often or a midfielder who doesnt score many but sets up lots of goals with creative play

Probably the latter, because if Yakubu got more service from our midfield he'd probably be getting a goal a game. As it is he isn't being fed.

Mmmmmm that's a tough one

11 goals per past 2 seasons in 442 not really a lot less efective though

King is a major part of our team, valued by the management and has been the captain on occassions, plus we do not have to sell.

Thus we can slap on a heavy price that will either scare these clubs off or make a huge ammount of money.

You mean Wellens? :P

If we get a £5m+ bid, and Kingy wants to go to a struggling Premiership team, then let him go. Personally, i'd love him to stay here.

Surely you have just contradicted yourself in the same sentence? :dunno:

No? I said/meant; if he wants to go we shouldn't stop him, whats the point of having players that don't wanna play for us? ..but personally i'd love him to be a long time player at the club :)

Never understood people when they say "why have a player, playing for you if they dont want to play for you". Personally, I would make that player play for you if you felt he was important. He's not going to play shit or act up as he has to advertise himself to the other clubs he wants to go to. So if anything, wouldnt he play better to try and get recognition for the club he would want to go to :dunno:
