the_fosse Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 Is the Kamara deal a week or so too late? Blog entry here. http://sportales.com/sports/the-flash-of-the-kamara-brings-the-last-hope-of-a-photo-finish/ The lads strike rate at this level can’t be argued but has Sven pulled the deal off a little later than we needed it? Hope he goes 4-4-2 now aswell, bring the best out of the Yak!
ajthefox Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 If we get in the play-offs I don't think it will be down to Kamara, he might score a couple but I think it's a little late. I still don't see how he'll fit in, 4-4-2 is still out the question for me because our midfield hasn't changed.
MrSpaM Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 I kinda get the impression the deals with a view to sign him in the summer rather than to push us into the playoff's. I know it's a long shot (and yes i'm not completely convinced by the rumours either), but with all the talk about sven being interested in bringing Heskey back to the club, just imagine a front two of Kamara and Heskey, the stuff dreams are made of imo.
Kingylcfc Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 ive got a feeling that sven will play 4-3-3 with Vassell, Yakubu and Kamara up front....but imo i would still like to see gally in the team

Do you remember Collymore/Heskey a few years back ? We beat Sunderland 5-2,we were planning an assault on Europe, and Emile buggered off to Liverpool ! Great times though

somebum Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 I remember that magical game. Didn't little Scott Oaks score a free kick?

STEVIE B Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 It only lasted one match didn't it? I'm sure you're right.Colly got a hat trick,his first 2 were crackers !
deep blue Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 I'm sure you're right.Colly got a hat trick, his first 2 were crackers ! I remember Stefan delivering a peach of a long ball out to the wing, with his wrong foot, to set up one of the goals. Next season he was sidelined by Taylor and just slipped down & down. On the topic of Kamara, I pointed out in another thread that several of our rivals made loan signings just before our game with Norwich. If we'd signed Kamara just that little bit earlier, what a difference it might have made. Why do people think Sven has waited till now? I fear it will be just too late for us, but I hope not!
colbo68 Posted 27 March 2011 Posted 27 March 2011 It only lasted one match didn't it? Yep, but WHAT A MATCH!
topharry123 Posted 28 March 2011 Posted 28 March 2011 It's DEFINITELY not too late. We're 5 points off 6th place and we still have to play Burnley, Forest, Reading and Watford. It's an uphill battle but definitely very doable. If he makes an instant partnership with Yakubu then Sven could have just pulled of one of the greatest signings in our clubs history. Granted it's a longshot, but with the table being so tight you never know. We've had one awesome run this season, nothing to say that we can't do it again.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 March 2011 Posted 28 March 2011 As I'm sure someone else has mentioned, he's out of contract in the summer, no? Pretty certain this will be a little period for Kamara to dip his toes in the Championship water, if he comes good, Sven will offer him a deal.
cambridgefox Posted 29 March 2011 Posted 29 March 2011 ive got a feeling that sven will play 4-3-3 with Vassell, Yakubu and Kamara up front....but imo i would still like to see gally in the team This is a tough decision,do we go for broke for a couple of games and see if it works and if it does keep that formation, or err on the side of caution and plod along grinding results imo,we have spluttered of late so need a change, but the teams above have done the same.Worth a risk,as we are not so close that it could ruin a strong position, but not too far away that this change could make a big difference for our push. Im quite pleased we have a few of the teams around us to play, that way its in our hands.Get behind the team whatever, and when i return from Thailand on 14th April be in contention for a play off position please!!
Number 6 Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 Not a lot to lose I don't think. Gives us an opportunity to see how he could fit in. With regards to the league I only hope that we go into the final game of the season less than 3 points of 6th. Then...who knows!
Wymsey Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 Drop Vassell and go 4-4-2 This. We don't need players that haven't made enough impact so far this season to ruin our already low chances of reaching the play offs. I would bring Kamara in over Vassell.
