tomtom Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Exactly the same team as against Burnley, no one deserves to be dropped! Must say it astounds me some people on here still call for a 4-4-2 ? Oh,..and if sven plays Bruma instead of mee, get behind him, don't boo him! We don't need to make him the next target for the boo boys

thybluefox Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 He was a bit cagey about Bruma on Foxesplayer, makes me feel nervous about him sticking him back in.
MC Prussian Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 I'd field almost the exact team from Saturday: Weale Van Aanholt Mee Bamba Vitor Wellens Abe King Gallagher Kamara Yakubu
Corky Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Naughtons not fit to play....problem solved!!!!! If Bruma plays I will walk out the stadium! I bet you won't.
themotivator Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 i predicted PVA would get the winner on sat (and he did! yes the last goal is the winner if you win 4-0.... ) so tonight i would like to see bruma upfront to bag a brace. i dont think i will be wrong this time either.
Thracian Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 It was hard to see anything I'd want to change in the team which beat Burnley although I'd wonder about Oakley getting through another near full game so quickly. As fo our chances it's down to approach and attitude the same as it was when we underperformed. If we abandon passing and moving just because we suffer a setback or if we start letting our fear of losing affect our approach we'll do no better than we did when it cost us points. If we work hard to win possession, then pass and move for each other we'll likely succeed. McIlroy showed himself an outstanding golfer for much of the Masters but once he ended up not knowing whether to defend or attack he was lost. And did lose. His only attitude should have been to play as if it was day one and he was trying to build a lead. We should do the same. Treat it as the first day of the season and the first day of our campaign to get as many points and goals as possible. It's far more fun too, for everyone.
sphericalfox Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Palace don't have a great history of winning away at Leicester and they have the worst away record of all teams this season. But I think we can afford to shuffle a couple in the midfield to keep everyone fresh, I think we should leave the back four alone. However, I suspect that Bruma and Naughton will be back in the team regardless. Sven might surprise us all, but I doubt it.
muzzy1981 Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Agree that I would just bring Abe in for his energy in the centre of the park. Most of Palaces's threat comes down the middle from Danns, Ambrose and Vaughan, so hopefully if we boss it in the middle of the park then we will get a result! Can't wait!
Messi Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Weale Naughton Bamba Mee PVA Vitor Wellens King Kamara Yakubu Gallagher
leicesterseddon Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Yeah. Let's completely change our back line after a 4-0 win. Get football better. Slotting Naughton back in will obviously have it's benefits but it means 2 changes again. At CB and at RB. Keep it the same, bring him on 2nd half if needs be, maybe on the wing. I hope to **** Bruma doesn't worm his way back in the team. I think Oakley should retain his place if he can handle it. But we were told when we signed Vitor that he was a centre-back - if the argument for keeping him in the team is for his form, then surely the answer is to play him alongside Bamba in the centre, bring Naughton back at RB and drop Mee, leaving Van Aanholt on the left? Keeping a clean sheet against a side that were ****ing useless is no reason not to play one of our best players just because it would mean changing the team. In any case, keeping the same team during spells this season has not shown to produce consistency of performances anyway.

At least with Mee you get a natural balance of having a left footed hoofer player.

I just see more advantages in leaving it unchanged than mixing it around again just to fit a (possibly not fully fit) Naughton back in. Unchanged Bamba and Mee have always seemed solid from what I've seen of them. PVA looks more comfortable with Mee inside of him ( ) Vitor was faultless. Naughton a second half option on the wing. Vitor not left footed. Change Best back 4 on paper. Inclusion of Naughton.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Naughton is out.... Sven confirmed this to the Merc..
