davieG Posted 22 April 2011 Posted 22 April 2011 I thought it was an even game both teams failed to 'click' both gave the ball away, neither team dominated more than ten minutes at a time, a draw would certainly have been a fair result which would have been useless to us anyway.
Merging Cultures Posted 22 April 2011 Posted 22 April 2011 I was impressed by Vassel's work rate. Their defence looked scared to death of him.
Dames Posted 22 April 2011 Posted 22 April 2011 Yaks form has deserted him since Boro away.. I disagree with people saying he doesn't give a shit etc. Quite a few times today he cut a frustrated figure, things just ain't going well for him at the moment and after todays performance i have to jump on the bandwagon slightly and say that i don't think his future is with us now. Weale was dreadful again, two goals on a plate for them. Cheers mate you alone have cost the team more points than anyone. You can't really blame the defence for his mistakes as he routinely lets in hopeful shots from outside the box. Other than that i feel that the team looked too nervous and this affected the performance badly.
Fox 4 Life Posted 22 April 2011 Posted 22 April 2011 I was impressed by Vassel's work rate. Their defence looked scared to death of him. Definitely, he needs to start up front, wasted on the right.
Haydos Posted 22 April 2011 Posted 22 April 2011 More of the same next season with Sven in charge. He just has an inability to motivate the players, especially at this level. We may hit around the play offs again but our current slump is alarming in the sense that other sides have figured City out. I doubt Sven will last another season. Yeah he needs to motivate Weale into being a competent keeper. What a dickhead.
Petchy Posted 22 April 2011 Posted 22 April 2011 I was impressed by Vassel's work rate. Their defence looked scared to death of him. I loved the fact that he actually ran at them. We haven't had an attacker do that for a long time. It was especially effective when we kicked off straight after they scored.
Guest DavidJCW Posted 22 April 2011 Posted 22 April 2011 Thats harsh. We need a new GK ASAP. As the saying goes.... Weale sucks donkey dick! Weale sucks donkey dick! Weale sucks donkey dick! Weale sucks donkey dick! Harsh? What part of any of that was harsh!?! We couldn't defend... Bruma was a joke as was Weale. I was a big fan of his last year and in League One and yet this season he's been a joke. In midfield, sure we had Wellens who did fairly well, Oakley scored a good goal but that's about it and then there's King who was non-existant which negated any benefits Richie had! As for up front... Kamara, nothing. Yakubu was about as useful as a large turd and Gallagher just kept losing the ball! You know things aren't going well if Vassell, a SUB, comes on and probably achieves more to the team than the rest had up until that point... Some of these players can **** right off. Sven needs a DAMN good summer to really sort this team out. Get them bonding and organised as this can't go on. Not good enough, and as such, not good enough for the play-offs. Come on Reading!
sbfox Posted 22 April 2011 Posted 22 April 2011 Unbelievable.... no-one looked particularly bothered today. Vitor was the only player on both sides with any modicum of class. Weale makes two huge errors. Even a 10 year old Sunday league keeper knows not to push shots out to the penalty spot. Just knock it for a corner you div. The third goal was just the worse goalkeeping I've seen for a very long time. Sven can't legislate for the keeper being so shit, but the fans who booed and jeered at Ricardo need to have a long look at themselves.
Matt Posted 22 April 2011 Posted 22 April 2011 Season Over. Thank-Fuck. Sick of hoping/thinking if we win we'll go within 'X' amount of points of the playoffs only to fail. Played well let down by the defence or goalkeeping debate once again.
martyn Posted 22 April 2011 Posted 22 April 2011 Defence generally looked solid, but unfortunately, our complete inability to keep possession allied with goalkeeping calamities made it tough for us. We lacked cohesiveness and movement in midfield and the work ethic up top is not going to get it done in this league. We urgently need a solid, dependable GK, a grizzled experienced centre half, a midfielder in the Abe mould but with strength and a strong, hard working striker. The team lacks the character to come through tough times currently, both in personnel and perhaps in the management structure. I'm sure Sven knows where the problems are, he gambled on a run to the playoffs and despite everything, we should be grateful we are safe in midtable and have a full pre season to rebuild.
Guest Col city fan Posted 22 April 2011 Posted 22 April 2011 Pathetic. That was the most disjointed, haphazard and disorganised performance I've seen from us in a long time. None of the players were particularly outstanding, the passing at times was shocking, defending once again non-existant. Good bye play-offs, here's hoping that Sven sorts this shite out over the summer. I absolutely agree... It's bad enough to lose but what sort of performance was that? So many players... Fat yak, kamara, king, weale just went missing and if ANYONE thinks that that team and performance are a patch on last season you are seriously deluded. Sven has got an awful lot of work to do, if he's the right man for the job... IMO past couple of months we have been utterly fookin dreadful
FrankieADZ Posted 22 April 2011 Posted 22 April 2011 its rather gutting to lose the game on a goalkeeping error....but hey ho, life sh*ts on us from a great height then f**ks everything up I suppose. thought we played quite well in spells, really hope we can get Mee and Naughton permant deals in the summer....even just one of the would make me happy. Either way it was there cup final Still lets look to next season.

Leicfox Posted 22 April 2011 Posted 22 April 2011 It's all over, but we gave it ago and never lied down. Defensive and goalkeeping mistakes in too many games this season have set us back, although, i do think Weale is a good keeper in general. We need to press teams more and actually not be scared to put a tackle in, we stand off teams far to much. Yak's goals have been vital, but do we really need a high profile player who imo sets us back when attacking, i say this as the best teams in this division double up on him and also have a good defensive midfielder covering, and that then effects us breaking teams down, it happened today and the game changed almost instantly when Vassell came on. Inability to break teams down, (see above) in vital games against the leading teams. I hope we can sign Ben Mee and Kyle Naughton in the summer. Finally........We'll be back next season, bigger, stronger, and better. We`re Leicester City. We rule supreme.

easilee Posted 22 April 2011 Posted 22 April 2011 Time for Gordan Banks to make a shock comeback. He'd have done better in goal.
Guest DavidJCW Posted 22 April 2011 Posted 22 April 2011 And I'm amazed that some people on here thought that that was a cohesive defensive display! What part of shipping in ANOTHER 3 goals, having a couple of nightmare goalkeeping moments and barrage of errors makes that a solid performance? Seriously people... this was poor. All over the pitch we looking weak, disinterested and slow.
Matt Posted 22 April 2011 Posted 22 April 2011 , it's not officially over until it's mathematically impossible, It still isn't impossible just yet amazingly! You're deluded if you still think we can make it though. Feel free to quote me if we make it. I'm quite confident you won't be. (Although i'll more than happy if you do quote me)

CKB Posted 22 April 2011 Posted 22 April 2011 It's pretty simple in my eyes, Weale cost us that game.. Should have done better with there second goal and as for there 3rd? well what can be said? He has cost us probably more points than Ricardo but we all know what the fickle fans wanted? the god that is Chris Weale, well you got him and what's he done?? Praise goes to Oakley, i'm not his biggest fan and if we are to progress next year he can only be a bench warmer but he's done well at a time where we needed others to do well aswell The defence looked ok in my opinion, a few wobbles but not bad... Wellens put in a good shift, King did his vanishing act again, Yakubu looked ****ed, Kamara tried hard but nothing came good for him, Vassell give us some spark and probably will start the next game i'd think..

More solid goalkeeper and we would have won that game 2-1
MikeyT Posted 22 April 2011 Author Posted 22 April 2011 Urghhh just had a text of someone i know who is a Forest fan saying "3-2 to the famous Reds, 3-2" <_< .
ScouseFox Posted 22 April 2011 Posted 22 April 2011 We were pretty poor as an attacking unit, but solid as a defensive unit, limiting them to shots outside the area. That's the only issue though, shots outside the area and Weale in goal. He's so shit. He's cost us points yet again.
