Stadt Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 This season we've had a large number of loanees, fans have taken to some more than others so I compiled this list. We've had 11 loanees this season, some took longer to settle in whereas some fans took to some loanees, straight away like Kyle Naughton. Its argued whether loanees show as much passion, grit or determination as a player perhaps playing at the club who is under a contract . People complain that premier league 'stars' like Yakubu and Kamara are overpaid and couldn't care less about the club. Some loanees were disappointing to say the least as players like out of favour Kirkland returning to his hometown, ended in disaster as he failed to keep a clean sheet in three games conceeding 7 in the process. Another the fans didn't take to was Roman Bednar, also out of favour at his parent club West brom, his championship pedigree was unquestionable but the fans soon were on his back as he failed to score in 5 appearences and was wasteful in front of goal. Carl Ikeme - Miss - Conceeded 8 in 4 says it all. Chris Kirkland - Miss - Failed to keep a clean sheet let in 7 goals from 3 games also injured after just 3 games! Kyle Naughton - HIT! - Scoring 5 goals from right back is no easy task, but his marauding runs and flair have made him a fan favourite. Curtis Davies - Mixed mainly hit - The towering centre back was part of a successful run. Miguel Vitor - Hit - The Portuguese centre back brought in from Benfica by Paulo Sousa, has proved largely successful, with his cool head in defence we've looked stable and ascertive. Jeffrey Bruma - Miss - More effective in midfield but suspect defensively but scored two stunning goals. Ben Mee - Hit - Made his senior debut with Leicester after a poor debut conceeding 2 penalties but since has proved that he is one for the future. Greg Cunningham - Hit - His perfomances were steady but his loan spell was cut short by a horrific injury. Patrick Van Aanholt - Mixed - Often left the defence exposed after bombarding forwards but after returning from injury has been more consistent. Diomansy Kamara - Mixed - Scored on his home debut but since ineffective. Ayegbeni Yakubu - Mixed - Lazy, but scoring 9 goals but not spread out enough and overpaid. Feel free to copy and paste your own views.
sven-your-smiling Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Carl Ikeme - Miss - poor Chris Kirkland - Miss - injury prone and didnt want to dive! Kyle Naughton - HIT! - fantastic going forward and is also a rock at the back. hopefully we can sign him Curtis Davies - Mixed - good for first couple of games, but got the feeling he thought he was too good for us Miguel Vitor - Hit - BRILLIANT. whenever he was needed even after being on the bench for 10 games still also preformed fantasticly Jeffrey Bruma - Mixed - miss in defence but we saw against watford his posistion is midfield. he also has a rather good shot on him. Ben Mee - Hit - first two games for leicester werent the best but he has proved him self to be one of our best players. hopefully we can sign him in the summer Greg Cunningham - Hit - didnt really get to see much of him before his injury but i think sven would defo have him back. Patrick Van Aanholt - Mixed - good going forward but left the defence with a hole as he doesnt like to get back i dont think Diomansy Kamara - Mixed - good against burnley, not done much in the other game Ayegbeni Yakubu - Mixed - scored 9 goals and a spectacular 1 against derby. but lazy and has been too ineffective too many time all in all ben mee, bitor, cunningham, naughton and yakubu have been our best hopefully we can sign all o these at the end of the season
cc_star Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Carl Ikeme - Miss Chris Kirkland - Other keepers might have made a fumbling error, but Kirkland was the worst all round displays I've ever seen Kyle Naughton - HIT - of course Curtis Davies - Mixed Miguel Vitor - Hit Jeffrey Bruma - Miss Can't change my opinion of the DEFENDER just because he scored 2 spectacular goals Ben Mee - Hit! would love to sign him Greg Cunningham - Mixed, not as effective as Berner going forward, or as experienced at the back, but much better than PVA & will improve, would be a good signing Patrick Van Aanholt - Miss - just an all round terrible defender, like sticking Franz Carr at LB, not much use going forward either - headless, clueless chicken Diomansy Kamara - Mixed - Looks lively for 30mins, but if stuff doesn't come off soon loses interest Ayegbeni Yakubu - Mixed
Christoph Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Carl Ikeme - Miss Chris Kirkland - Other keepers might have made a fumbling error, but Kirkland was the worst all round displays I've ever seen Kyle Naughton - hit - too good for us Curtis Davies - Mixed Miguel Vitor - Hit - Should be in the defence every game and works well with mee Jeffrey Bruma - Mixed. I can sense talent and i reckon he could brew to a decent cdm if he gets some time to gel Ben Mee - Hit! Wears his heart on his sleeve and commits more than the rest Patrick Van Aanholt - Miss - Like having a winger (not a very good one at that) in defence. Cant tackle and has no positional awareness. Has potential Diomansy Kamara - Mixed - Play him 4-4-2 with a striking partner and lets see what he can do Ayegbeni Yakubu - Mixed - He scores goals but he should have way more considering some of the chances hes had. Too lazy and overpriced. Drop in wages and maybe T

Haydos Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Cheers I've waited til i gained a bit of respect so i didn't get picked apart by the FT Vultures I think that's where a lot of people go wrong tbh, they sign up and immediately start making comments, often controversial or against the general opinion without clocking the mood first. Not much you can do really apart from have an open mind and argue your points well
evs_the_fox Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 What do you think of the thread? its my first big post really. Carl Ikeme - Miss - Never play for us again Chris Kirkland - Miss - Only play for us if you can stay fit Kyle Naughton - Hit - Please play for us again Curtis Davies - Okay - Play for whoever you like Miguel Vitor - Hit - Play for us for at least another year Jeffrey Bruma - Okay - Play for Holland again and maybe we'll see what all the fuss was about Ben Mee - Okay - Stick around and play for us a bit more Greg Cunningham - Hit - Hope you get fit soon and play to the potential you showed whilst here Patrick Van Aanholt - Okay - Try playing like the 'next Ashley Cole' more and like the 'next Celestine Babayaro' less. Diomansy Kamara - Okay - Play for us some more, you're decent in Championship Ayegbeni Yakubu - Okay - Play for us again if it's not going to cost the GDP of Romania
Fox92 Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Carl Ikeme - Miss Chris Kirkland - Miss Kyle Naughton - Fantastic - Sign him whatever the price. Curtis Davies - Good - Would have liked him to stay, but has obviously moved to Birmingham City since. Miguel Vitor - Fantastic - Sign him whatever the price. Jeffrey Bruma - Good Ben Mee - Fantastic - Sign him. Greg Cunningham - Fantastic - Sign him. Patrick Van Aanholt - Good Diomansy Kamara - Mixed - Not to bothred about him really. Yakubu - Fantastic - With the right service and support, he can be lethal in this division because of his ability to turn a chance into a goal from nothing. If I was manager, I'd certainly sign the players in bold.
ajthefox Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Carl Ikeme - Miss. Not as bad as some make out from what I saw but not good enough Chris Kirkland - Miss. Never showed any quality that most thought he did have in his locker Kyle Naughton - Hit. Should win player of the season and is a priority signing Curtis Davies - Mixed. Prone to an error or two but I'd have him back Miguel Vitor - Hit. Has got better and better and would be great to hang on to but looks unlikely Jeffrey Bruma - Miss. I don't want him back particularly but we could do and have had worse not too long ago Ben Mee - Hit. Has also got better as time has progressed and would like to see him on a perm Greg Cunningham - Mixed. Not the best going forward or defensively but will improve. Would have back. Patrick Van Aanholt - Mixed. Can't see him being anywhere near as good as Cole like the supposed claims. Diomansy Kamara - Mixed. Looked a different class from what I saw, but that's just the first 70 minutes of the Forest game. Can't really judge someone fairly on so little but I'd be keen on getting him back since I think he's a free agent after all. Ayegbeni Yakubu - Mixed. So lethargic at times but he's scored what, 9 goals? I think we could do better but he does have ability
cc_star Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Ayegbeni Yakubu - Mixed. So lethargic at times but he's scored what, 9 goals? I think we could do better but he does have ability This is the dilemma over him He's scored a good total of goals, almost the 1 in 2 that we'll need over the season to have a chance, but when you keep in mind we've create more chance than almost anyone & Yakubu has actually score in very few games, 5 of his total (over half) came against just M'boro & Watford, I still have reservations & when you add in the fact he does absolutely nothing else & we're rumoured to have had to of increased his Everton wages to encourage him to step down I'm just not sure what value he adds over other Championship high scorers
lcfcbradyboy Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Carl Ikeme - Miss - we need a keeper not a clown. Chris Kirkland - Mixed - although i think abit of time he would be a good championship keeper hes to injury prone. Kyle Naughton - HIT - Amazing RB please sign him. Curtis Davies - Mixed - Good player But hes a mardy arse Miguel Vitor - Hit - great player only decent thing sousa did. Jeffrey Bruma - Mixed - Play him in midfield yes play him as a defender no way. Ben Mee - Hit - solid need him to sign. Greg Cunningham - Hit - good at getting forward and a good tackler Patrick Van Aanholt - Mixed - not as good as cunningham more of a winger. Diomansy Kamara - Hit - i would like to see him sign hes got great skill and play him upfront in a 4-4-2 with some one like Marlon king. Ayegbeni Yakubu - Mixed - Lazy he can be a super sub.
lcfcsnow Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 I wouldn't take Curtis Davies back on a free transfer, I was delighted when Birmingham came in for him. Look at what he's done for them, nothing. Full of himself and almost as big a liability as Sol Bamba. Apart from the two keepers all the others have had a positive effect.
Ruthless Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 I wish we wouldn't loan players so much, its not like we can't afford to buy them.
Bettsj2 Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 This is the dilemma over him He's scored a good total of goals, almost the 1 in 2 that we'll need over the season to have a chance, but when you keep in mind we've create more chance than almost anyone & Yakubu has actually score in very few games, 5 of his total (over half) came against just M'boro & Watford, I still have reservations & when you add in the fact he does absolutely nothing else & we're rumoured to have had to of increased his Everton wages to encourage him to step down I'm just not sure what value he adds over other Championship high scorers He also has 7 assists so saying he does absolutely nothing else other than score is not quite correct. The problem with him is we are used to strikers covering every blade of grass on the pitch, screaming and shouting and causing a fuss so to see Yakubu basically not leaving a 20 yard radius and smiling all the time, doesnt sit well but that's what he's done all his career and he's been successful so why get him to change? I think if he comes in the summer it will be a good buy. Certainly over a season he'd be more help than a hinder and i'm sure there would be so much more to him if he had a settled strike partner.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Carl Ikeme - Miss - Too poor Chris Kirkland - Miss - Overated and injury prone Kyle Naughton - HIT - Brilliant in most games. Providing goals, pace, width. If only we had the money and "pull" to sign him Curtis Davies - Miss - Good at times, but form dropped when he smelt the premier league - has he played much for Birmingham since? Miguel Vitor - Hit - Stron, skilful, cool head, but inexplicably left out of way too many games. Too expensive to sign. 2nd loan spell unlikely, no Portuguese link and not rated by Sven? Jeffrey Bruma - Miss - No footballing brains, poor positioning, frail at the back at times. Silly silly Red at Borough. Although awesome display against QPR and two stunning goals Vs Watford. Ben Mee - Hit - Good on the ball. Adequate at LB. Very strong tackler - only him and wellens at LCFC capable of such a challenge? Greg Cunningham - Hit - Good when he was here, sometimes lacking in attack Patrick Van Aanholt - Miss - Just. Defensive frailties, but is he much worse than naughton defensively? Excellent goal against Burnley. Final third decision making is better in last few weeks. Diomansy Kamara - Miss - Amazing home debut against Burnley, never got tackled and constantly ran at them and beat them all. However disappeared since and too old at 31? Ayegbeni Yakubu - HIT - you can say what you want about his lazyness but 9 goals in 16 starts is awesome. That's way over 20 over an entire season. Also doesn't do much for the team unless he scores......like a certain Andy King, but we all love him though?
clarkeylcfc Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Think everyone forgets bruma is only 19. I think he'll be one of our key players next season if he comes back.

Donut Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Carl Ikeme - Miss - Poor keeper, unconvincing displays Chris Kirkland - Miss - Unfit, didnt look sharp, and didnt keep a clean sheet Kyle Naughton - Hit- Nominated in the PFA team of the season and has given consistent, energetic and game changing displays Curtis Davies - Mixed- Looked good initially but once Birmingham came sniffing he was away. Miguel Vitor- Hit- Very assured competent displays and shouldnt really be playing at our level Jeffrey Bruma - Miss - Looks terrible at centre back and im not convinced at all Ben Mee -Mixed- Very committed and whole hearted but not convinced by his ability on the ball and he certainly needs to mature in the way he plays the game rather than constantly diving in Greg Cunningham - Hit -Played very well up until his injury and had a sweet left foot Patrick Van Aanholt - Miss- Defensively suspect, not particularly great going forward, and to me is a total 'big time charlie' Diomansy Kamara - Mixed - Great game against burnley and obvious ability......but has been quiet of late Ayegbeni Yakubu - Mixed - Has weighed in with 9 goals which is no mean feat, but his effort level and commitment has been questionable for me
The Doctor Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Carl Ikeme - Miss - Poor keeper. Roman Bednar - Miss - Absolutely shit Chris Kirkland - Miss - Shocking keeper, the only one worse than Ikeme. Kyle Naughton - Hit - One of our best players of the season. Curtis Davies - Mixed - Played well in his first couple of games but when down hill afterward. Miguel Vitor - Hit - Somewhat injury-prone but great when he's played. Jeffrey Bruma - Mixed - Played Ok at forest and good v QPR and Watford but looked a bit of a liability alongside bamba. Ben Mee - Hit - Poor on his debut but good since, offers balance to the back four. Greg Cunningham - Hit - Good player and i'd be delighted to have him back next season Patrick Van Aanholt - Mixed - Poor defensively but good going foward Diomansy Kamara - Mixed - Great on his debut but inconsistent since Ayegbeni Yakubu - Hit - Say whatever you like about his work-rate but his strike rate is brilliant.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Carl Ikeme - Miss - not a very good keeper Roman Bednar - Miss - SHIT Chris Kirkland - Miss - injury prone and never kept clean sheet Kyle Naughton - Hit - One of our best players of the season. Curtis Davies - Hit - played brilliant most games but never had a very bad game Miguel Vitor - Hit - not had a bad game when he has played for us Jeffrey Bruma - Mixed - Good CDM but not good at CB. too much pressure Ben Mee - Hit - can play either LB or CB and also made Taraabt look shit Greg Cunningham - Hit - Good player but shame what happened on new years day Patrick Van Aanholt - Mixed - Poor defensively but brilliant attacking. Diomansy Kamara - Mixed - Great on his debut but he dont try as much Ayegbeni Yakubu - mixed - when he tries he is amazing but most games just stays in same position and dont help the team by waiting for the ball and not running around to get it
Fox92 Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 I wish we wouldn't loan players so much, its not like we can't afford to buy them. When did Sven join the club? October? Therefore, Sven could only get loan players in because the transfer window wasn't open. And he did that very well, bringing in players such as, Kyle Naughton. What else could we ask for? And then in January, Sven went for players as well, make sure that the squad was big enough and all that. Of course, I wouldn't like this many loan players, but its all Sven could get. The forthcoming season will be different because Sven will have had the summer along with the money to purchase players.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Carl Ikeme - Was shit. Chris Kirkland - Worse than Ikeme, least Ikeme was fit. Kyle Naughton - Quality. Curtis Davies - Started off well and got worse. Didnt help that we were running after him trying to get him to sign. Miguel Vitor - Good, just wish he hadnt been injured a couple of times, and that Sven wouldve played him more. Jeffrey Bruma - On the whole, poor. His best games have been in midfield, but at the back he has been a liability. Ben Mee - Decent. Not great, slightly better than average. Greg Cunningham - Good. Thought he was a bit overrated but he is the best LB we have had this season. Patrick Van Aanholt - Shit. One decent goal vs Burnley, but is very poor defensively. Diomansy Kamara - Cant really tell, but has looked promising. Ayegbeni Yakubu - A bit of a let down. He hasnt scored as much as he actually should have done. Doesnt alway put in the effort either. Roman Bednar - WANK. Makes Yakubu look world class.
