Blanesta Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 Can i just say one thing. Outside of Leicester LCFC are not seen as a big club. You are seen on a par with the likes of Charlton or Coventry. Not exactly the sort of club players fall over themselves to sign for, unless of course you off players like Nuggent £25k a week. Just out of interest how would you determine club size?

We have a squad now more than capable of staying in them prem (bar an out and out good scorer) lets just see how the season unfolds ! Exciting times ahead!
Redski Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 I'm not disputing what you say, but I personally wouldn't put him in my top 3 forwards in the division. I would prefer we signed Yakubu if I'm honest. Time will tell what occurs - but can you honestly see NM at your club in February? Next season? Everyone keeps saying you should sign someone better but no-one suggests names, other than Yakubu who according to some on here doesn't want to drop down to your level. So I'm interested to hear who you think is better than NM at this level, perhaps suggest these names to Sven so we ca all move on.

Who do you think you're talking for? Charlton are lost in the limbo of League One football and Coventry have been sh*t for ten years and can't even fill their own ground. Not exactly the same, is it? Bristol City fans are simply dead-scared of losing their most valuable asset this Summer - and losing it to a team in the same league as yours is an even scarier thought. IF Maynard leaves you, I can see you struggle big-time and fooling with relegation.

Both teams never won a cup, never played in the prem, never played in Europe, not having much money spent on squads, small attendance etc... Not having a go, I Just don't understand with your logic why P'boro aren't the same sort of size club? strange

I think most outsiders see us as a pretty unremarkable club in fairness, but I think based on recent circumstances we'd be seen as bigger than the two clubs we've been compared to. I'm not sure we'd be put up there with West Ham and Leeds, but probably up with Forest and Derby as well as the likes of Norwich and Ipswich. There's also the issue of our potential fanbase to add into the mix. Tap into the Asian population of Leicester better, grow into Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire and we're probably bigger than even our East Midlands rivals. The best way to achieve all this is to ensure our Premiership place, hence the reason the Thais are investing so heavily.

This is when the banter gets real , this is when we see who eats humble pie who bashes who around the pitch . So regardless of who we sign i for one am just looking forward to the ride.

Aeropars Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 All this talk of which club is bigger is utter bilge. Your only as big as your last season. That makes us a mid to upper championship team. Our new found richness counts for nothing until we back that up with a good finishing position.
