I think he'd be a pretty top signing, Miroslav Klose captained Germany and scored a friggin ton at the world cup last year. Has won promotion to the Premiership before and has battled his way to the top of the English game. Felipe Caicedo, Sven signed him for Man City. Has ripped a load of goals in for Levante and if he'd be prepared to drop down a level then he could be the perfect foil for Yakubu. Anthony Van Den Borre, again if we can't get Kyle Naughton then i'd make an ambitious attempt for this lad. Was tipped to be a world beater at Anderlecht. hasn't quite been as good as they thought but would be more than capable at this level. Good going forward and defensively strong. Would add good height to the back line as well at over 6 ft. Olof Mellberg, we need a warrior at the back. Someone who will take bodies and again organise us properly. Tunchev might well be able to do that if fit but we need someone else to rely upon and this man does all of that. A fellow Swede, Sven might be able to tempt him back to England. He'll be 34 in September but is playing at a high level and is what we need. He'd be my top priority. George Boyd, i've kept an eye on this lad ever since he was at Stevenage and he's got the ability to play at a higher level. We need a wide player who can make a consistent contribution to our team and if Peterborough don't go up then he'll be available for under £2 million. Yakubu, in a team vying for promotion he would score 30 goals. So if we are serious about promotion and put together a team that's good enough then you can put =30 in our goals scored column. No better finisher than him available for £2 million. Jonathan Greening, he's knocking on a bit but we need a defensive midfielder who is aggresive in his play and doesn't go missing. Abe, King and Wellens on their day are superb but they've all been over run so many times this season and we again need someone whose played at a higher level and knows how to get out of this league.

I was at Man U for their match versus Marseilles ( hated every minute ) - Scholes and Carrick sat in front of the back four and let the other four up front run all over the place. Clean sheet and Man U were through - won the match with a clean sheet. That is what we need to do - the front four formation can be loose, just go and get some goals and help out covering and defending where and when needed. I have been banging on for months that Wellens in the team spoils our balance, not saying he is crap, just not what we need unless he is one of the front four. Yuki Abe with a proper defensive midfield player gives us all the balance we will need, and would give us the Championship title next season. In some games, maybe Wellens could play, as Scholes is sometimes left out of the Man U side for Giggs or another forward going midfield player, depending on who the opposition are. We must have the opportunity to play with two midfielders capable of actually helping our defensive set up.

All the talk so far has been about players in the English game coming, but Tord Grip was scouring Europe in January to find players in various European clubs, sometimes watching two or three games a week. I can't believe Sven has stopped him scouting for us since then. Don't be surprised to see two or three players from Europe arriving.

I know i know, you've heard it all before, but come December he shall be a free agent! Remember when Sven's name was mentioned for the first time, we laughed it off! He would provide us with that sparkle and additional flare we need. Also, i would say that we have a fighting chance to get: Cudicini (Spurs) on a bosman!

Besides, if Copenhagen want to keep him, I don't see why he'd Swap CL football for the Championship. Another potential issue is his nationality. There might be issues with a work permit and he'd likely be off to the Americas every now and then at crucial times.
