No, youre wrong, read my original post again. I said that I couldnt care less about any players private life except that I dont want a murderer playing for my team.

I swear you only read a couple of posts and then make assumptions.

How are Marlon King's crimes his 'private life'? Baffling comments...

Don't know the exact story, but didn't he walk away from the scene where he killed someone whilst drinking and driving? :dunno:

If this is true, I class him as a murderer tbh, taking one life's away.

:banghead: * 1,000,000

Unless he saw someone walking down the pavement he didn't like and deliberately drove his car into them with the intention of killing them, then he is not a "murderer"

Please look into the terms "manslaughter" and "homicide" on wikipedia and all should become clear.

And I'm afraid your personal definition of "murder" is of little importance to anyone but yourself, with all due respect. In the eyes of the law he is not a murderer.

Well that's exactly what I'm saying you said.

You brought Lee Hughes up - yes or no?

You heavily implied Lee Hughes is a murderer - yes or no?

This is a thread about Marlon King, in which case bringing Lee Hughes up would only have been to put King's actions into context - yes or no?

I'm bored with all this. Anyone who doesn't want to come to matches if Marlon King is playing for us, don't come!

But why did most of you pay to watch him play against us?

Because we pay to watch our team, not the opposition, who can pick and choose who they want to play for them.

If people don't want to watch us with certain players representing the club then that's their choice and should be respected.

You can't class someone as a murderer, he is either a murderer or he isn't. In the eyes of the law, Lee Hughes is not a murderer.

My personal opinion is that attempting to cause harm to someone is worse than accidentally killing someone.

Not trying to say what Hughes did wasn't stupid, terrible and unforgivable. But it wasn't his intention to kill someone, as far as we know.

I dont give a fcuk how many goals he scores against Derby, Forest or any other rat bast_ard club, I will never, ever support a loser like King.

lol Somebum, this has got to be your first + reputation post ever!

No come on, why did you bring up Hughes then? You wanted to change the subject, and it was just a coincidence that it was about another footballer who has comitted crime/s in the past?

Don't opt out of the debate because you may be exposed for saying something silly.

The point im trying to make is that I dont care about their private lives except for murderers. Dont get me wrong, what king did was very bad but there is a massive difference between hitting a woman and killing somebody.

Explain what you mean by this then - if you're not in fact using Lee Hughes' crime/s to put Marlon King's into context?

The club is bigger than one man and will still be standing and here when he is long gone.

Having said that i don't want that bastard anywhere near this club in any capacity.

And there you go again, reading one post and making assumptions. Please read my FIRST post in this thread. I quite clearly implied that I couldnt give a toss who we sign apart from lee Hughes because to me he is a complete and utter willy puller.

And how exactly can I be exposed for something silly? WOW, I want us to sign marlon king send me to the fcuking hague

I quit this forum before because of trolls like you and I think ill be doing that again.

This has to be one of the most depressing threads ever.

The amount of people who are willing to excuse Marlon Kings repeated acts of violence towards women because he's a competent footballer is worrying.

Here is just an extract from his sentencing

“You have shown not a hint of shame at your disgraceful and arrogant behaviour,” Judge Nicholas Loraine-Smith told King yesterday.

Southwark Crown Court was told that on the night of the assault, King was “cold-shouldered” by a series of women in the Soho Revue Bar in London. He then approached his victim, a “slightly built” student. During the trial, the victim said: “I felt someone grab my left buttock. I turned round and was quite disgusted and shocked.”

She said King told her: “You’re not even in my league, love, I’m a multimillionaire.” Then, in a burst of “completely gratuitous violence” he hit her, “smashing” her to the floor.

The woman wept as she listed her injuries. “It split my lip, broke my nose and gave me a black eye. It felt like I was bleeding everywhere, but it was mainly my nose and mouth.”

The judge told King: “Thereafter, you did your level best to avoid any responsibility for what you had done, and were helped in this by the nightclub, for whom you were a good customer. They allowed you to leave without calling the police, although they pretended to do so.”

He added: “I appreciate that this conviction will cost you an enormous amount of money, but it is difficult to be sympathetic when you boasted about how much you earned.”

For some people to then make flippant comments regarding women shows a level of immaturity that does this board no favours. I would seriously consider returning my season ticket should he sign. What this lady has done is to shine a light on a potentially worrying signing and hopefully made the owners and the manager think of more than just the footballing implications of Kings signing.

Jesus wept, take a chill pill and stop throwing toys out of the pram. He's only asking a perfectly valid and reasonable question. You have an opinion, and to some, including myself, it seems like it's a random and illogical one. What's so horrible about having to explain your opinion? Hell, I'd even say you should be glad that someone even shows an interest in trying to find that out.

Good, if you're going to say things like you have done I'm not going to cry over that.

I've read all your posts and we both know what you've said, and what you'vee tried to say.

You wouldn't mind King coming, but you would mind Hughes because he's a murderer. You have clearly said that. You can retract it if you like, but you've certainly said that.

See i agree with this but its the way the woman says "I will also organise a high-profile boycott campaign for all women and girls to stop attending". It is her choice not to attend. Firstly why was there any need to get the Mercury involved saying signing King would "alienate the fanbase" ...i mean wtf? Secondly does she really think it is right to start a mass campaign to lower our attendences? Fair enough have and follow your own principles but why try to force them on everyone else. Just gonna end up damaging the reputation of the club IMO.

Less women and children at the ground is a bad thing?

Larry. Think for a second. Why would the clubs reputation be damaged?

If the answer is because we've signed Marlon King then the she's not damaging the clubs reputation, the club is by signing a recidivist sex offender and woman beater. He hit the 20 year old woman when she spurned his sexual advances, he was at the time 'celebrating his WIFES PREGNANCY.

Damaging the rep of the club? I'd say that was the case if he WAS signed. You're being naive if you think people aren't going to have a problem with this.

The fact of the matter is that he's a thug. A lot of people don't want to support a thug. I've lost a lot of respect for the people saying "I don't give a shit what he's done, as long as he scores goals". They don't give a shit what I think about them but I bet they haven't taken 2 seconds to imagine if he'd assaulted someone close to them.

Bollocks would they want him here, and they'd do everything they could to let people know that.

And to the others saying "You'll be chanting his name when he bags 20 before xmas"....Like **** will I, I'm not a fickle cvnt with no morals like you.

Posted

I wouldn't boycott. But i'd be disappointed if we make the signing. Would boo him in his first few games maybe? and would find it hard to celebrate his first few goals.

Well, quite clearly you must have different interpretations to my comments than I wanted them to be put across.

And in all honesty, if people are actually going to boycott if he signs then clearly they dont love this club enough. My dig with Hughes is just a personal one, just a one-off person that I despise but would I stop following my beloved team if he signed? Of course not.

We could give him a shirt number to match his convictions too.

Fooking covscum and unrepentant sex pest, fook off!

Take a minute and just reflect over what you're saying. A boycott campaign will not 'force her principles over everyone else'. If you don't agree you won't support the boycott. If most agree then who are you to argue with the 'alienating of the fanbase'? Instead you focus on how people not wanting to support the club signing a repeated offender will lead to 'lower attendences'. Fans should only attend matches and support the team if they want to, right? [Mandaric] Fans are not just daft people whose loyalty to a club is being exploited to throw millions of well-earned pounds for rather tepid entertainment [/Mandaric]. I really have no idea how you come to the conclusion that people standing by their common sensed principles will damage the reputation of the club, but the signing of a person like Marlon King won't

Yes but what im trying to say is she is trying to speak for everyone. Signing him wont alienate me. If we signed marlon i agree it dont make us look good. Starting a mass campaign though just draws shit loads more attention to it. Mutinity amongst the fans etc. Loads more negative media. This article is titled "Leicester City fans threaten a boycott if Foxes sign striker King". In actual fact about 4 fans have but that doesnt stop the media making a massive thing about it. What was the need to get an article written when the chances are he wont sign for us anyway. Just publicity that we dont really need.
