I will be very disappointed and outraged if we sign King. Disgusting person.

I certainly wouldnt want to see him in a City shirt and would never cheer his name, etc, but not sure if I'd go as far as to say I would boycott the games.

Just have to wait to see if we do sign him first.

Seriously, these reactions have been ott.

I would be delighted if he signed, he knows where the net is and thats all that matters. What happens in his life, I couldnt give a toss about. Theres only 1 player I wouldnt tolerate and that would be lee Hughes.

Do you not think this is contradictory?

Can't say I'd be too fussed. Done his time, scores the goals to get us up, the crowds would be on their way back.

Why would you sign King and not Hughes?

At least Hughes apologised for what he did.

Hughes made one mistake, an awful one.

King's history is one mistake after another.

Marlon King's convictions today for sexual assault and actual bodily harm are the latest in a long list of court appearances stretching back 12 years.

London's Southwark Crown Court heard that since the age of 17 the Jamaica international has found himself in the dock on no less than seven previous occasions involving 13 offences. They feature dishonesty, drink driving and other motoring offences, and violence against women.

Only one, receiving a stolen £30,000 BMW, resulted in a prison sentence – 18 months reduced to nine on appeal. Apart from some community penalties, the other punishments were fines.

King's first brush with the law was in December 1997 at Camberwell Youth Court when he was convicted of wounding another footballer. At the time he was playing for a local Dulwich side. His victim was part of a St Thomas's Hospital team.

Magistrates heard how he grabbed his opponent round the neck and, as the referee booked him, returned to the attack with a head-butt and a punch in the face, fracturing his cheekbone. He was given an 80-hour community order and ordered to pay £250 compensation.

Two years later, at Tower Bridge Magistrates' Court, he was fined a total of £240 for two counts of theft and two of fraudulently using a tax disc.

In 2002 he was brought before Camberwell Green Magistrates for driving with excess alcohol and while uninsured. He was fined £650, ordered to pay £40 costs and disqualified from driving for nine months.

A week later at Greenwich Magistrates' Court he received a six-month community rehabilitation order and was ordered to pay £100 compensation for criminal damage and attempting to obtain property by deception. Later that year, at Inner London Crown Court, he was jailed for receiving the BMW Cabriolet.

A year after that he was at Bow Street Magistrates' Court for two counts of common assault. The court heard how a cab driver had called police about a "disturbance" in Berwick Street, Soho. When officers arrived they saw King chasing two women along the road with a belt and buckle wrapped round his right fist.

One of them explained he had attacked them for "no apparent reason", punching her in the face and causing cuts and swelling. He was fined £1,000, and ordered to pay £500 compensation as well as £100 costs.

His last court appearance was in 2005, again at Bow Street, when he was convicted of threatening behaviour. This involved him approaching a woman near Leicester Square, and again for "no apparent reason" spat at her. He was fined £300, and ordered to pay £500 compensation and £55 costs.

I would rather have signed Hughes (two or three years ago when he was doing well at Oldham) than King. Hughes did a terrible thing, and is rightly disliked, but he it was one mistake. He apparantly does a lot of charity and community work in relation to the crime, and has kept his head down since returning to football.

King is just one horrible person. Unlike Hughes, he has done something time and time again. Like you say Hughes apologised and you get the feeling he really has shown remorse and is sorry for what he did, unlike King who I get the impression is just an attitude player and really doesnt give a shit.

So just to recap:

If we signed the Night Stalker you'd be cool with it but you cross the line at Fred West playing up top for us?

What in the name of god are you talking about? Fleeing a car crash (which killed a person who wasn't wearing a seatbelt) because of alleged inebriation worse than assaulting women?

Think you need to sort your crime hierarchy out. I'd have Hughes over King any day if we're talking about morality...

Is he even really that good? OK he's had a decent season, but I've not heard too much about him over the past few seasons and he's 30/31? Not saying that's old, but he's past his peak

The guy is a scumbag, if the club signed him i would still go but i would never acknowledge the scumbag even if he scored a hattrick against Derby.

Careful, both crimes were awful, and there is no doubt that Hughes was pissed out of his head.

I wouldn't want either of them.

Because he was in jail?

I think there are few things in this.

1. To support an ex-offender in rebuilding their career is positive.

2. To respect the individual on a personal level is choice.

3. Not to employ somebody on the basis of having a criminal record for a job not made subject to the '74 Rehabilitation of Offenders Act is unfair.

If Sven believes he's worth it, in terms of footballing value, bearing mind the investment Sven will have to make in man management and the effect of a player on the wider dressing room, then I will support the decision to employ.

I reserve the right on a personal level and as a supporter, not to chant his name, not to promote him as a role model for young people, not to respect him as a person until he proves otherwise, and to make critical comment as I see fit upon his performance as a footballer.

Sven and the wider Club will also reserve the right to terminate his contract if he brings the club into public disrepute.

"King has convictions for 14 offences, dating from 1997.[30][31] He received fines, driving bans, community service sentences, a rehabilitation order and orders to pay compensation on convictions including: theft from a person and from a car, criminal damage, and attempting to obtain property by deception; fraudulent use of vehicle licence document, driving without insurance, speeding, drink driving; a wounding incident while playing amateur football, and two cases involving assault of young women rejecting his advances in the Soho area of London" - wiki

What a w.... he isn't prem and he is clearly a twit. Why are we looking at him?

Some things are bigger & more important than grabbing a half useful player, this above list isn't someone who should ever be looked up to or applauded. feck him!

What next Lee Hughes?

I wouldn't miss games because of him, but i'd boo him - completely disagree with what he's done. Really don't want to see him in a Leicester shirt, people like him don't deserve to. Yes, he CAN score goals, but i'd much prefer a goalscorer who isn't a complete scumbag.

Lee Hughes killed somebody, he then RAN AWAY. He ruined lives.

Oh that's alright then. All is forgiven, Marlon. At least you didn't kill her!

Silly Bint.

I don't want us to sign king and I won't chant his name, but if Sven signs him then so be it, that won't stop me supporting my club.

There is a big difference between killing someone and hitting them. But you could say that because King was done for drink driving he could just as easily have crashed and killed someone. I still have no idea how I'd feel if he joined but I'd prefer he didn't.

The point im trying to make is that I dont care about their private lives except for murderers. Dont get me wrong, what king did was very bad but there is a massive difference between hitting a woman and killing somebody.

Pretty much this.
