Fox92 Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 We're all entitled to whatever, but that might be abit too far. He did something wrong but he has impressed me with Coventry. Against us, his movement was good, and he has proved that he is a good finisher and can score at this level. I don't really care about their personal lives, although he did something quite bad. Didn't Jack Wilshere do something like that to a girl? I'd still take him here.
Father Ted Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 And do you know what else? Most of you fickle twats slagging him off will no doubt be singing Der Der Der marlon king, once hes scored his 20th of the season. You all talk out of your fcuking arses, 'sven out, yaks a fat lazy bastard get Howard on, fcuking loanees, bring back fryatt Pearson and mandaric'

AdamN Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 The point im trying to make is that I dont care about their private lives except for murderers. Dont get me wrong, what king did was very bad but there is a massive difference between hitting a woman and killing somebody. Of course there is, but that doesn't make King any less of a disgusting twat of a man. Let's not forget that the nightclub incident wasn't an isolated one - he's been convicted of a number of offences before that, all of which paint a pretty good picture of the kind of reprehensible character he is. And technically, while not in any way trying to defend what he did, Lee Hughes isn't a murderer.
artursteppe Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 I'm bored with all this. Anyone who doesn't want to come to matches if Marlon King is playing for us, don't come! But why did most of you pay to watch him play against us?

Babylon Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Barton is a bad lad but hardly a bastard rapist And neither is Marlon King, I suggest you watch what you are accusing people of. And killing someone drink driving isn't as bad as hitting a woman??? Are you having a laugh.
Jay Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 didn't we sign Stan Collymore after he beat the crap out of Ulrika in a Paris bar? also believe he went to trial over beating up an ex girlfriend before that as well! still didn't stop everyone singing we've got stan collymore though
AdamN Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Lee Hughes isnt a murderer? Haha Well, not by the letter of the law. Though whether you agree with the law is another matter. Anyway, this is beside the point. As far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't want either of them at my club.
Larry_LCFC Posted 2 May 2011 Author Posted 2 May 2011 What's it to you? If she doesn't agree with the club's policy then good for her. The club have us as fans in an unconditional bind of loyalty but if somebody has some kind of moral opposition to a signing then fair play to them for making a stand against it. So you dont think its a stupid statement to make ... I am referring simply to what she said. How can you say you will never go and watch the team you love ever again just because some player is joining. Bet she will be there when we get to the prem. I am simpy sick and tired of these people that call themselves fans when they are prepared to jump ship just because something happens that they dont like. Shit happens ... its life. If you dont like him .. dont chant for him. How you can disown yourself fromt he club based on Marlon King is beyond me.
Kitchandro Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Why is she the loser and not you and Larry for accepting any scum as a player? At least she has some principles. Here here I will not boycott games myself, but getting on your high horse because somebody else has some principles is a disgrace. Football is not all about winning, despite what some may think. It's about pride and bravery. Marlon is a coward who has not admitted fault or apologised, and I would certainly not be proud to support him.

Terrible mistake, cowardly ran away, but he didn't attempt to hurt someone. It wasn't a malicious attack.
hackneyfox Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Clearly your not understanding the point im making. Read my above post. I've read your post above. It's rubbish, you're saying that your a loyal fan because you'll support your team whoever plays. A very childish post.
Larry_LCFC Posted 2 May 2011 Author Posted 2 May 2011 Killing someone due to drunk driving isn't murder. Terrible mistake, cowardly ran away, but he didn't attempt to hurt someone. It wasn't a malicious attack. Oh so its ok to hit someone in a car while drunk and then flee the scene.
hackneyfox Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Lee Hughes killed somebody, he then RAN AWAY. He ruined lives. Marlon king broke a womans nose but shes still here to tell the story. Oh well that's okay then and we'll ignore the 2 prrevious convictions for assault on women and the fact that he still hasn't accepted his guilt or apologised.
Steven Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 So just to recap: If we signed the Night Stalker you'd be cool with it but you cross the line at Fred West playing up top for us?
Haydos Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Oh so its ok to hit someone in a car while drunk and then flee the scene. Pipe down, he's clearly not saying that, just that it wasn't 'murder'.
hackneyfox Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 Oh so its ok to hit someone in a car while drunk and then flee the scene. He's not saying that. I had an uncle killed by a drink driver, I believe that you should receive a very hefty prison sentence for death by drink driving BUT look at King's convictions, they involve drink driving and seem to get more violent as he gets older.
hackneyfox Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 I don't understand why this has been made into a poll, I won't boycott the club but I don't want him anywhere near the club. The results of a poll on a boycott can be misread. If you need a poll on the King it should be about whether we should sign him or not.

I had an uncle killed by a drink driver, I believe that you should receive a very hefty prison sentence for death by drink driving BUT look at King's convictions, they involve drink driving and seem to get more violent as he gets older. Well i guess it depends where you stand then. To me getting in a car while drunk, hitting and killing a innocent person and then cowardly leaving the scene while they lay dying in a pool of blood isnt far off what Marlon King did. Hughes and King have both served their time and while people will never EVER be able to forget what they did, you have simply got to move on. Everyone deserves a second chance, hence why Lee Hughes is now the club hero at Notts County.
Kitchandro Posted 2 May 2011 Posted 2 May 2011 So you dont think its a stupid statement to make ... I am referring simply to what she said. If you dont like him .. dont chant for him. How you can disown yourself fromt he club based on Marlon King is beyond me. Firstly, like I said before, I would not boycott games myself. However, if I had young children I would probably choose not to bring them with me. It is important that they are taught right and wrong and showing them that a bad person is playing for the Club that you are encouraging them to love sends out a terrible message to young people. As do some people on here. Imagine saying that to your kids - 'he's done some terrible things, but it's wrong to refuse to support him because he's a good footballer. You see, it's OK to do bad things as long as you're a good footballer'. An example that many high profile footballers set these days, sadly. 'Bet she will be there when we get to the Prem' - well how do you know that? How can you say that? If you have any evidence for that claim I'd like to here it, otherwise that's just not on. It still looks to me like you're trying to make out you're a better fan than this person because she has principles. Your wild claims are doing your argument no favours. People don't need an excuse not to go to games, if I didn't want to go I just wouldn't go. What are they trying to prove by saying King is the reason they won't go? That they have an excuse? No, I should think that's just how they feel. I have no problem with people who boycott games because they don't feel connected to the Club anymore because they can't accept the individuals on the pitch. I have no problem with people who accept him and go to games. I don't even have a problem with other people chanting his name. But I do contest it when people do have a go at people for having principles.

There have been previous thread/polls on whether Marlon King should sign or not. This thread is in response to the Leicester Mercury reckoning fans will boycott the club if he signs, hence why I am keen to see what the results would show. I think marlon is a cretin but he wouldnt stop me watching my team.
