sphericalfox Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Is it all as gruesome as that .GIF makes it out to be? I won't turn the thread into a movie thread, but David Cronenburg directs some pretty gruesome and psychologically disturbing films. Whilst that GIF looks impressive, sadly the film hasn't aged as well as it might have. Still a great idea for a film, and no doubt it'll be rebooted soon. It is a classic for it's time.
mancunianfox Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Scanners is a good film and is on the less gruesome scale of Cronenbergs earlier work. The head bursting scene looks fairly silly and is the only bit like that in the movie (which catches you off guard actually). It was made on a budget of about 10p so it looks dated but the ideas behind the film are still interesting. Shivers is my favourite early Cronenberg movie. Much better than Yann Kermogant.
