stix Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 Surely the first stab in the neck would end it? I doubt she even had time to realise she was being attacked. I dont know where she was initially stabbed but unless it was in the top of her head into the brain or the heart id imagine it wasnt instant. I unfortunately watched the ken bigley beheading years ago(which i fully regret now!) but that poor bastard was in a whole world of pain right up until the end. Its shit like this happening that makes me think capital punishment should be brought back.
Fox92 Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 Seriously what is wrong with some people in this World?! Honestly, what would make a person do such a thing?! I always say/think this. I don't understand why anyone would want to inflict pain/hurt/kill another human being.
Bert Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 I read the guy was homeless? Maybe he just wanted a roof over his head, with 3 meals a day and thought this was the best way to achieve it. I'm not even being funny there or anything, just a thought.

I see your point, but if you just want to go inside, surely robbery or something else that doesn't directly harm a human being is a better option, not severing someone's head off.

There are many other ways he could have got to prison, in public as well for so many people to witness it, truly sickening.

Finnegan Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 Said he had mental problems in the reports. I'd have thought you'd have to be fairly ill to do something like this. Utterly mad. And no, this wouldn't have been an instant and painless death. Are you nuts!?
Bellend Sebastian Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 It's about as horrific as it gets. I'm sure I read that he was discharged from whatever treatment he was having in February. My missus works in mental healthcare and she says it's every professional's nightmare to let someone into the community that harms someone. Usually it's easy to tell who presents a risk, but not always. Christ knows what happened with this one

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 15 May 2011 Posted 15 May 2011 Like others, I just don't understand how people can do things like this! Let's. face it, nowhere seems to be safe Any of us could be in the wrong place at the wrong time. What really concerns me, is the number of killers, who have been treated for mental issues, and released, only to commit evil crimes.

It's quite often these things happen now and now that woman's family and many others like that have to deal with that for the rest of their lives and the sad thing about it is that it will continue to happen as well.
Fosse Boy Posted 15 May 2011 Posted 15 May 2011 Behead the bastard, let him know how it feels. Ah yes. An eye for an eye, such a great basis for the justice system.
Bert Posted 15 May 2011 Posted 15 May 2011 Ah yes. An eye for an eye, such a great basis for the justice system. That's literally how they do it in Iran. Was on the news last night, this man had thrown acid in a womans face because she wouldn't marry him, now he's in court and his punishment (although it's been delayed) is to have acid put into his eyes.

I saw that on BBC news last night. Didn't the government block it from happening in the end? Edit - got my answer when I fully read the post

Yeah, saw that. Unreal. Can't remember if it was Iran or the Saudis who sentenced a guy to be surgically paralysed after he'd put someone in a wheelchair after a fight as well. Mental.
MikeyT Posted 15 May 2011 Author Posted 15 May 2011 Yeah, saw that. Unreal. Can't remember if it was Iran or the Saudis who sentenced a guy to be surgically paralysed after he'd put someone in a wheelchair after a fight as well. Mental. WTF!!!
ScouseFox Posted 15 May 2011 Posted 15 May 2011 An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind, literally in this case.

Yes, and the woman he did it to has said she's willing to carry out the 'retribution' herself, apparently.
marko Posted 15 May 2011 Posted 15 May 2011 Yeah, saw that. Unreal. Can't remember if it was Iran or the Saudis who sentenced a guy to be surgically paralysed after he'd put someone in a wheelchair after a fight as well. Mental. That was last year in Saudi - Surgical Paralysis I don't think it went ahead in the end but to even contemplate such a barbaric act is sick in my opinion. Here's the acid story - Acid Blinding I know what the guy's done is beyond horrific, but again, taking such a brutal stance seems beyond extreme.
ScouseFox Posted 15 May 2011 Posted 15 May 2011 What happens if he does it again? The acid guy, I mean. If he's blinded someone with acid, then been blinded himself as a punishment, what happens if he throws acid at another person, blinding them? Presumably, you'd like to think it won't happen, but what then? He can't be re-blinded...

He'd probably have a hard time doing that in all truth , but maybe they could negotiate with the family to cut his fingers off or something . all penal systems need some alternative punishments .
