By what I've heard he wasn't great at Forest, but clearly his time at L'pool must have affected his confidence a bit. With the right management etc we'll have a great player. Was never L'pool standard but he's been a quality PL full back for years. Still seems odd if Masilela still goes through though. Especially if we're paying a loan fee for him.

Haydos Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 Bit of an iffy one, here's why I think why.... 1) Didn't seem to pull up any trees at the Trees. 2) On 40k a week wages at Liverpool (rumoured) so what's he going to be on here? 3) If it is a high wage, is it worth it? Would Ball/Masilela be a better signing?

A few people on here have said the same thing, and as i have said before, my brother works on the accounts at LCFC, he gets news first hand really because he deals with the transfer fees and wages etc. Not sure about Routledge, would have thought we'll hear more once Konchesky has signed.

Especially with us trying to get Mee as well, not to mention still having Berner on the books. Don't get me wrong, I think Konchesky would be solid in this league and would add some good experience to the back-line, but I don't think that either him or Masilela would sign if they weren't told they would be first choice? Maybe something has gone wrong with Masilela's work permit / medical?
