Paul Konchesky - SIGNED

Recommended Posts

Thanking you and Sven for taking Konchesky off our hands. Probably a good deal all round, last year he was bought for over £4mill and Hodgson had no doubt he'd fit into a "top 4" side. But it turned out he was utterly useless compared to what was expected. For the Championship, he's a good player, but for a team with Champions League ambitions, not so. We get a bit of money back, you get a hard working player who'll be more than good enough for a Championship side. Cheers.

Liverpool fan I know had that to say, pretty honest opinion really.

Doubt the 40k a week very much.

But this is a good signing, he's been a steady premier league player for years. Maybe Liverpool was too much of a step up but for the Championship he's arguably the best left back in the division when on form.

Yeah scousefox agree with everything he says, he has played Premier League football for most of his career and has been very good at mid-table clubs.

Hodgson was impressed with him in a good Fulham side, so he isn't that bad.

Going with the wage money is that true, only a twitter comment but I doubt it would be that much...

@liamlcfc Doesn't matter who your owners are, the club can't afford it. Chelsea were in 500 m debt when Roman is the owner...

Paul Konchesky is a #LCFC player, the contracts had already been signed, the paper work is the FA registration which won't take long.

Just been reading on the florist forums about their opinions on Konchesky.

Couple said he wasn't good enough, while most said he was commited and poored his heart out for the club to play.

Said he did well in most games apart from an odd couple towards the end of the season May time.

So not that bad, wasn't having game time at Liverpool and confidence knocked a bit, but reading some florist comments they don't seem to bad at all.

40k my god.......,...............

Not happy with this if i am honest, regardless of how much we are paying him! Suppose Maiselea isnt coming

Why?

Why?

Spending 1.5 million on a left back, paying something for a season long loan for maiselea and we have berner?

Seems a lil excessive to have 3 left backs

:dunno:

If the £40k is true then i'm genuinely worried about the future of this club. So far our deals have either represented value for money, or purchased a very valuable and much needed player (Mills). This deal does neither. It's bad enough we've paid for a player I'm convinced Liverpool would've let go for free, but matching his already ridiculous wages when he drops a division, is desperate to leave and has no other options... well, it scares the crap out of me. Risdale at Leeds is what springs to mind. I hope the reports/tweets are wildly inaccurate, in which case fine, but I fear this one may suggest we have more money than sense, and with a manager (who I love) who can't say no to a player...things could get messy long term.

Sorry to be so negative but it's my gut feeling right now.

Not happy with it, so you rather have Masiela, who hasn't played English football and has hardly ever been seen by us Leicester fans.

I'd be happy with Konchesky, his not flaming Kaebi or Canero in disguise you know :)

Why are people getting upset about a RUMOUR from TWITTER about his salary....

It's TWITTER for crying out loud!!!!!!

He was good at West Ham and Fulham, he had a bad season with Liverpool, he was okay at Forest, I think pre-season and a full season in the championship will bring his old form back, he has experience in championship and premiership, he can speak English too ;). I don't know what to make of it but we need to get behind him and hope he gives it his all :)
