However none of these games atmospheres compare to true derby's e.g West Brom v Wolves, Brum v Villa and other clubs with similar sized crowds. I take it you've been to a bunch of these games then? What makes it a 'true' derby anyway? And I'm pretty sure we have a bigger Stadium than 3 of those teams.

I agree... but look at how close these clubs are as well. For example, Birmingham and Aston Villa is an 11 minute journey. I still have a different view with our rivalries though. Every football fan knows about the fierce rivalries such as West Ham v Millwall, West Brom v Wolves, Birmingham v Villa, Liverpool v Manchester United etc are fierce rivals and are very close geographically. With Leicester though I don't feel as if I am going to a fierce local derby where both teams really do hate each other.. at the end of the day some of our fans don't care about Coventry. and Forest v Derby is the main rivalry (just 14 minutes apart). When I talk to my mates (who support clubs such as Doncaster, Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United etc), they don't see Leicester v Forest or Leicester v Derby as a fierce derby, its always 'who are you rivals with?' or in more recent years 'have you played Coventry yet?' (I do think Coventry is the derby like). We always have conversations about Birmingham v Villa, Forest v Derby, West Ham v Millwall, Sheffield United v Sheffield Wednesday, Wolves v West Brom etc. Therefore, I do think the worst part about supporting Leicester is the fact that we have no fierce rivals. Ok, the poll shows Coventry fans don't like us, but then if they were playing in the Premier League every season, I'm pretty sure Birmingham or Villa would be topping the list. Don't get me wrong I love going to watch Leicester v Forest, Leicester v Derby, and especially Leicester v Coventry, but it doesn't feel like a real fierce rivalry to me, where as it would do to a Wolves fan who was going to see them play West Brom, or a Birmingham fan that is travelling across the City to watch them take on Villa, etc.

Since I've got older I spend a lot of time with a F*rest fan and now I despise 'em. It's the European Cups thing that really bothers me. Has a more pathetic club won that tournament? It's easy to see why they hate each other more with the Clough-thing and the geographical proximity. I don't buy any of this "we don't hate Leicester" stuff though. Cov are a clear third. I'm from North West Leicestershire so geographically I don't have much reason to hate them. On top of that they can't muster the attendances at their place to make the away day a really tough rivalry atmosphere. The past two seasons we've took 6,000 and 5,000 there off the top of my head and that's amounted for 18,000 and 20,000 of the ground. (Figures off the top of my head.) That's just pathetic - there's no reason why Cov should be so badly supported. It's not like they've got Manchester United on their doorstep. I used to class Chelsea and Leeds as making up a big 5 of teams I hate. But I don't hate Leeds so much anymore. Their fans aren't as racist or arrogant since they've suffered over previous seasons and I've gotta admit they impress me with the numbers they turn up in and the noise they make. The crowds they pulled when they were crap in League One were really impressive. I've started to hate Man U more again lately. I live in the North West and **** me their fans are arrogant. Not a big fan of Sheffield United either - and I've never been able to work out why.

And thats what I was on about, its not a fierce derby. It might be local, but is it fierce? In Leicester fans eyes yes, and we are a third derby for Forest, but other football fans don't see it as a fierce rivalry - at least none that I've met or know - its usually Leicester & Coventry.

Yes there maybe some fans like that, there probably are, because at the end of the day, we should all be able to sit down after/before the game and talk to each other, not have all this violence. There are many fans who don't 'hate' another football club, I don't 'hate' a football club. I may dislike Sheffield Wednesday but I don't 'hate' them and I'd never want anything bad to happen to the club such as administration. You might not see the games which I listed as fierce, and there maybe some of their fans that don't hate the other team, but I suppose it's where you live and whether you see these fans day in, day out. On the other hand, there will be some fans that do hate the other team. For instance, when we play Sheffield Wednesday, they'll be many fans that see the game as 'just another game' but I always want to beat them more than any other side because of where I live and all the fans I know, because of stuff that they have said to me/do say to me about Leicester.

What I mean is it depends on where you live, yes we are local rivals with Forest, Derby and Coventry but those games won't have the same effect on me as they will you, and a lot of other fans, because of the location. Say all you want, but I don't go to the Richo/Pride Park/City Ground thinking I hate these sides. Thats why I brought up Sheffield Wednesday, I know they have nothing to do with Leicester, but because of my location its like a local derby to me and I want to beat them more than any other club, where as other fans don't even care. Certainly have little feeling towards them myself. That said, I can accept that in the Leicestershire/Warwickshire borderlands you'll have fans in Hinckley/Rugby/Nuneaton or wherever that do see it as "the big one". But it traditionally was, presently is, and forever will be Forest and Derby who are our main rivals.

Atmosphere at modern games aint great but when we play Forest that's the best it's going to get in this country. I can understand the 'it depends where you live' point a bit, though when you've been to the games themselves it's a different matter. You get caught up in the match atmosphere, it's got nothing to do with if I know any of them or not. Like I said it's one thing to think that but when you write an essay about how it's not a proper rivalry (as many annoying Forest fans do) then I don't see how you can expect anything other than a negative response from the majority of Leicester fans.

Surprised Villa are that high on Cov's list as well when the last time they played each other must be a good 10 years ago, if not more. and sent them down.

TBF I think it reflects the amount of plastic fans we have. I bet it has something to do with historical events between the two sets of fans. You may have only supported the club since 1999 but the club had been kicking about for 115 years prior to that – try looking in to it before posting your outspoken but ultimately incorrect opinions. TBF I think your views reflect an embarrassing lack of knowledge about the club you're a 'diehard' supporter of.
