shailen Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 If he plays week in week out like he did in the play off final then lets have him now...but hes always seemed to be inconsistent and.always tries to do too much...bit like lloyd dyer tbh...i rather have mcnauff tbh.
Libertine Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 4m what is it with us being tight over a striker and throwing money at Reading!? Ooh, yeh, can't believe we're only bidding 5m+ for Maynard.
lestajigs Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 Two Reading players handed in Transfer request today got a good feeling Kebe was one of them with 12 mounths left on his contract A good feeling???
Guest shearfox Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 Good player, 4m though a bit on the steep side.
dannythefox Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 Ooh, yeh, can't believe we're only bidding 5m+ for Maynard. Pissing around to much we could of had yak for half that if we paid me a bit more wages or bonus etc and he would of been here by now!
Jollie Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 If we sign this guy I will feel slightly vindicated for all the posts I put up on here and the Youtube video (dogshit music) I posted too
hearn161 Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 hi guys, Reading fan here very much in peace. Firstly, I can't see this move happening, the rumour this evening has solely come from Twitter and is a classic believable deadline day tweet. Also, Jimmy is currently in talks with the club over a new contract. And the two players wanting to leave are probably fringe players such as Brian Howard and Marcus Williams. I am happy to answer questions on Jimmy on here and will constantly be updating the situation on my twiitter at http://twitter.com/#!/hearn161

hearn161 Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 12 months.. hence why the £4 million tag seems far fetched
themotivator Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 i think we've got to look at the fact that if we were to sign kebe for 4 mil. we would still have to spend on another striker (e.g.maynard - 6mil). we would be a very decent signing and 4 million is not a lot over what i would have expected. im not sure. what would happen if we spent £10million tomorrow?
Dylan Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 I'd love to have Kebe here at City... an absolute quality winger and will tear teams apart. But £4million seems a bit too much considering he's in his final year- for £2.5 million though-
SCIAG Posted 30 August 2011 Posted 30 August 2011 Reading fan here, and Kébé is incredible. Someone said they'd like him to play like he did at Wembley every week, other people have worried that he is inconsistent. He is inconsistent, but the playoff final was one of his worst performances for 18 months or so, and he's more consistent than McAnuff. He is lightning quick, and easily our best player. I think Reading fans would be gutted if he left, unlike when you signed Mills. If Mills is worth £5m (he isn't), then Kébé is worth at least £6m. However, to be frank, I don't think he'd want to sign for you. He's talked in the past about wanting to play in the top flight, either here or in Ligue 1. He isn't a money grabber like Mills, he's someone who wants to further his career. I don't think your squad is much better than ours, and he's no youngster, so he probably wouldn't gamble on you being promoted. Anyway, I really liked the way you play football. I hope Sven sorts the defence out and you have a good season.

Finnegan Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 From the BBC deadline day news feed: Richard P via text: "Just seen Jimmy Kebe arriving at Leicester City's King Power Stadium. £4m bid accepted by Reading. Cashing in on last year of contract."
Finnegan Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 kristmace on Twitter: "Rumour template: My [Distantant Acquaintance] has just seen [Footballer] at [Location] ready for a [Fee] move to [Team]."
Fox in the North Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Half tempted to set up a twitter account and release hourly believable transfers to raise forests hopes
ithuriel Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Half tempted to set up a twitter account and release hourly believable transfers to raise forests hopes would be quite funny
Darkon84 Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Brian McDermott has come out and said Kebe is going nowhere
Liamlcfc1 Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Think this Forum could crash by the end of today
lcfcjim Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Brian McDermott has come out I knew it! Always thought he was a bit....
