MikeyT Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 He says "I'm happy here playing football and long may it continue". That to me sounds like he wants to stay there.
1994fox Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 as the maynard thread is closed this isnät for me 100 % clear that he wants to play at Bristol having in mind he's talking to Bristol reporters. http://www.bcfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10327~2392091,00.html Doesnt seem that interested with bristol citys contract offer.

drc Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 well maybe I read it more that he want's his future to be sorted.
wattolcfc Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 well maybe I read it more that he want's his future to be sorted. I read it that way too. He's never going to come out on BCFC TV and say he wants a move or they just wouldn't do the interview as it would be playing into our hands. I can see this being an August 31st jobby!

If he wanted to be at Bristol so much, he would have signed a contract for them by now. So is still possible in my view
MikeyT Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Is this the new Nicky Maynard thread now the other has been closed?
1994fox Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 well maybe I read it more that he want's his future to be sorted. I thought there was a contract offer on the table? so surely he could sort his future pretty easily if he wanted too.
Lester LXXIV Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Well his agent is no doubt using our interest and financial muscle to ask for silly money on a new contract at Bristol City. If they can't meet his demands he may turn to us!
Guest Bilo Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 He talks about 'getting something sorted soon' and 'what's best for me and the club.' That could just as easily be a big money move to Leicester as a new contract.
psychonaut Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 You missed out the "Whatever else happens, happens. I'm happy here playing football and long may it continue." I'm happy here - meaning portugal on tour and long may my happiness continue. I dont think NM wants to sign a new deal with BCFC or he would have done it already. Even if he wanted more £££ it doesnt take that long to negotiate a deal.

morris1234 Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 has anybody considered he may want to come to us but is being very loyal to.bristol and actually going along with these claims to.up the price?? what if millen and the chairman sat him down and said ,look we wont stand in your way but if you can hang on and help us get the best possible return from our investment ,then we'll give you our best wishes and everybodys happy? just to be 100% sure cus twitter plays up alot on my fone so i cant check, but we are still definitely in for maynard? thanks
psychonaut Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Never in a million years does he mean in Portugal!!! What its such a wonderful place
Christoph Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Is this the new Nicky Maynard thread now the other has been closed? +1
thybluefox Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 The only way he can show his commitment to them is to sign a new contract. Words mean nothing as 1)its all vague answers and b)we know how easily footballers go back on their word.
lestajigs Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Is this the new Nicky Maynard thread now the other has been closed? Yea do you think we can equal the 160 pages???
Jay Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Van arrnolt possible derby loan fourth official did they not see him play for us?
Libertine Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 did they not see him play for us? He actually played very well against them to be fair. Even defensively.
Blue Bob Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 I think Sven has been pretty shrewd in all of this. Made more than a fair offer, doesn't seem to want to go any higher so publicly withdrawn interest. Now its over to Maynard - either hand in a transfer request (which he may not do if this will cost him a percentage of the fee) or publicly state he is not prepared to sign a new contract - in which case Bristol would be daft not to cash in!

Thats what I think. If Nicky wants to make a decent push for the prem with us, its simple say so. Also heard that Nickys pregnant wife's parents live in the East Midlands?? interesting hey

If you actually read what he said, the whole thing and not snippets. And without all their thoughts around it, then it reads quite differently.
