ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Do we really need a defensive midfielder? Can't see how he'd fit into our current midfield which already looks strong
sdb Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 He was always decent at Man City. Not a player we need (ahem, striker), but useful I guess.
Callabinho Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 He scored against spain! get him in pronto ...Nah he is a quality player! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/world_cup_2010/matches/match_16

psychonaut Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Do we really need a defensive midfielder? Can't see how he'd fit into our current midfield which already looks strong I really dont think its strong enough, not for a top 2 finish...
Narborough_fox Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 IanStringerBBC Ian Stringer @arlowhite he's (Sven) not done yet buddy, watch this space. How our club has changed, for the better of course More signings?
Libertine Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 IanStringerBBC Ian Stringer @arlowhite he's (Sven) not done yet buddy, watch this space. How our club has changed, for the better of course More signings? Well I'd have thought that'd be obvious.

kingfox Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 From Paul Fletcher bbc man who writes about the football league said these on twitter earlier today. "I see Leicester have agreed a deal for John Pantsil. When does it end? Surely it is promotion or the dole queue for our man Sven." "Yep, I'm sure Sven knows what he is doing. Cannot help but think there might be a few players unhappy at bench-warming though". Thoughts complete asshole or has a point? I personally like his blogs on bbc, but don't know what to make of them comments about us Foxes.
Far Post Gerry Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 Arsehole, not asshole. But yes he does have a point; our owners seem like good guys right now, but give us a run of 6-odd games without a win and their patience might be tested. I hate to say it, but Sven needs to get us promoted.
phildw Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 Too many players in their 'comfort zone' last season knowing there was no real competition for starting places. This was borne out with some very lazy lacklustre performances from some key players at crucial times at end of season and this cost us big time. The more competition the better so players know that they are not a dead cert pick week in week out in the first team. Sven knows this and his policy is spot on IMO.

I personally like his blogs on bbc, but don't know what to make of them comments about us Foxes. Most BBC pundits/columnists are appalling imo, but he has a point. Especially with the 5 subs being re-introduced, there's gonna be some decent players not even involved on matchdays.
davieG Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 Well it's not as if they don't know the situation Sven has said enough times he wants a 20 man outfield squad so if they sign they are must realise they will have competition and not be guaranteed a start, be stupid to think they are guaranteed a start or are happy to take the money. Besides you can't look at the number of signings without taking into account the size of the squad which they seem to be failing to do. So before spouting off they should ask themselves is our squad that much bigger than last year when it wasn't strong enough, is it better when it was good enough, if the answer is no and yes then shut up.

So tell us something we don't know cos all teams have an 11 man squad so as not to piss anyone off. As for Sven well we all know promotion or bust as his contract is up next summer. :frusty: is less painful than reading his shite.
Guest Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 Why would you form any opinion about the man from that? It's an entirely sensible and accurate view he is promoting and much the same as most of us think.

Joe. Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 Paul Fletcher is actually a very good blogger on the Football League, quite why anybody would be frothing at the mouth because of a couple of sweeping (and pretty agreeable) statements is beyond me. Oh no wait, it's because they're a moron.

I agree, we all saw the difference in Yakubu last season once he was dropped.

wellyfox Posted 23 July 2011 Posted 23 July 2011 Stating the obvious makes him a tosser, does it? No your right i'm the tosser. After all i pay a tv licence and taxes so he can be payed for that drivel.
