Callabinho Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Dont even know who it is yet so dont get your hopes up Trevor Benjamin
bald reynard Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Don't shoot the mesenger, but I just had a phone call from a mate who's a Wolves fan, to ask what I thought about City signing Ebanks-Blake. Apparently there's talk on a Wolves Forum today (he's been told !) about us signing him before the start of the season. Now, I've looked on two Wolves Forums - and I can't see anything - but I think there was some link about it on here a couple of days ago, wasn't there (and I can't find that !) ? Surely SEB (another double-barrelled like CMS - just to worry you !), can't be the, "3rd signing" Liam's heard about, can he ?
sdb Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Saw this earlier... Kasper, King, Pelts, Gally, Waggy...is it Smith and Weale at the front? And then who are the 2 at the back?!
Kent Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Saw this earlier... Kasper, King, Pelts, Gally, Waggy...is it Smith and Weale at the front? And then who are the 2 at the back?! It's SSL with the peace sign, I couldn't work out the 2 to the right of him but I think you're right it's Gally far back right.

Liamlcfc1 Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 One of them at the back is Nugent the other is St Ledger. think its ball
Kent Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 In other news, Chris Weale has the smallest hands in the world.

I must admit, I have also heard those reports from a couple of people in the West Midlands, but I don't know if there's any substance.

I knew he used to be fairly decent but I'd prefer to get a striker on a good current form rather than reputation. Than and it's apparent he can't quite make the grade at premiership so I feel he would only be a fringe player.

Happy Fox Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 SEB is a fantastic striker his record when he was in the championship was impeccable, he is fairly young, played at the highest level, If we get him he would definitely be worth it

He HAS got a much better record than a lot though - and certainly better than the likes of Waggie etc. What I can't understand, is why McCarthy seemed to refuse to play him (or at least, start matches) over the last two seasons - when the season before (2008/9) he was top scorer by a 'country mile' (25 goals in 41 games in their last Championship year) - perhaps because it was only Championship level (but then, that's where we are !) ?

That's probably what throws me off the idea, Sven is the manager and I have complete faith in his decisions. I guess a SEB and Nugent pairing would be decent too!

McCarthy played 4-5-1 a lot, with Kevin Doyle as the lone striker - wasn't really a lack of faith in SEB.
lcfcliam Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 IanStringerBBC Ian Stringer John Pansil becomes Sven's 8th new signing of summer at #lcfc. Free agent, 3 year deal. Was due to join squad in Austria, may not now though 5 minutes ago
Joe. Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Has it actually been confirmed anywhere reliable that we have any kind of interest in Ebanks-Blake?
Bert Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Just like I said last night., been done done since early yesterday.
Mr.Lowe Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Form is temporary, class is permanent. SEB is a 20 goal championship striker. So is there any truth to this SEB rumour Bert?? I agree, defo get 20+ goals a season for us.
