That lad from Japan Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 Found this on a Bristol City forum Leeds United........................ .3465.1 Nottingham Forest.................2081.0 Norwich City.......................... 1971.0 Leicester City........................19 68.2 QPR........................... ..........1562.1 Cardiff City.......................... ..1530.8 Burnley....................... ..........1476.3 Hull.......................... ..............1404.6 Derby County........................ 1319.8 Millwall...................... ...........1216.2 Crystal Palace.......................1 204.6 Ipswich Town........................11 97.5 Portsmouth.................... .......1194.5 Middlesbrough................. .....1059.5 Sheffield United.....................103 9.7 Swansea City.........................9 60.6 Doncaster Rovers...................936.8 Barnsley...................... ..........898.4 Reading....................... ..........894.1 Watford....................... ...........880.4 Coventry City.......................... 844.5 Bristol City.......................... ...734.8 Preston North End..................624.2 Scunthorpe United..................515.7 Not surprised Cov are down the bottom but honestly didn't expect Forest above us. I know there are many factors in away travel, I'm disappointed we didn't get over 2k but things like Norwich on a Tuesday night didn't help.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 Don't forget Forest's playoff support would obviously be high. Also we dropped off at the end, couldn't realistically make it whereas they could/did so ..
ScouseFox Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 How did Leeds even manage to make 3,500 their average?! That's bigger than quite a lot of away ends, isn't it? Not to mention the likes of Scunthorpe where it's barely 2,000. Incredible support.

Not to mention the likes of Scunthorpe where it's barely 2,000. Incredible support. They took 6k to Cov so that would have boosted the numbers up a fair bit.

Mickwalker27 Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 Went to Norwich that Tuesday night when we were playing poor, a few hundred of us at best
ScouseFox Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 Norwich, Pompey and Cardiff all midweek for us, that's why we didn't get above 2k, but still 4th best in the division is a good effort.
hbkkids Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 4th best average away attendance is good, lets get 1st place next season though, that would be better.
lestajigs Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 Ain't bad for us, but u got to take your hat off for Leeds away support!! And how shit are qpr fans, they been sitting at the top off the league, from nearly the start of the season,
ajthefox Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 Fair play Leeds, thats some following on average. Find it amusing that Derby are where they are despite having such a big number for their home support.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 Leeds away support is amazing, really respect them for it.
Dan Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 4th best in the league despite coming midtable, falling behind to Leeds United, 2nd in the league and the side who travelled the least miles in the league, and came 6th. Fvcking superb effort.
1964FOX Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 And don't forget we were forced to play a midweek snow tie at Ipswich only 500 of us at that one.
Mee Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 And don't forget we were forced to play a midweek snow tie at Ipswich only 500 of us at that one. One of my favourite aways of the season. An experience and half!
1964FOX Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 One of my favourite aways of the season. An experience and half! Yes it was and some very clever spontaneous chanting. Great feeling of togetherness between us all that night I thought.
Craig Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 Without a doubt my favourite away of the season looking back. The atmosphere in our end when we thought it was going to be called off was fantastic
accessory Posted 3 June 2011 Posted 3 June 2011 Remember we had quite a few away games on Sky last year, including Forest and Derby. That would have deterred a significant number of the fanbase from travelling. The difference between us and Forest is therefore insignificant. For historical reasons, Leeds are and will remain a class apart, but I'd expect us to make the 2nd spot on this list our own in the next campaign, regardless of the presence of the hammers.

For historical reasons, Leeds are and will remain a class apart, but I'd expect us to make the 2nd spot on this list our own in the next campaign, regardless of the presence of the hammers. That isn't insignificant. Forest had their TV aways too, in-fact, Leicester being one of them. I also seem to recall Leeds, Hull, QPR, Norwich AND Palace away all being on TV for them, which is more than the four we had. But like I say, for a side that bang on about such a glittering history, being in a city similar sized to ours (with competition from Notts Co, also with us having the Tigers which is well under-rated in terms of support competition, IMO), for a side that made the play-offs and generally spent the whole season in the top half whilst we had a stage where we were bottom, the fact they get less at home than us, and only take on average 100 more per game, it doesn't one bit add up. As I said earlier, I'm proud to not only be 4th, but to be behind three sides that really, it was a certainty we were gonna come behind.

lestajigs Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 Really, a Leeds love-in? Really? I just threw up a little. My God, people. dayday Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 Fair play Leeds, thats some following on average. Find it amusing that Derby are where they are despite having such a big number for their home support. Derby are just plastic fans!
ScouseFox Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 Really, a Leeds love-in? Really? I just threw up a little. My God, people. Nope, I said it was incredible support. It is. I didn't say I loved their incredible support, just that, based on those facts, it's incredible. You're welcome to do one if you don't like it, honestly.
