I wouldn't of suspected him to travel to Usa, I wouldn't expect him to touch the Man City first team Boyata only managed that and Boyata on merit is a better prospect than Mee. I would welcome Mee back with open arms and I hope it happens, but I don't know why it's taken so long to unravel.

I think there has to be something to unravel before it can. We don't even know if formal talks have happened yet. He may well be the last name Sven wants to pursue as he will not be in the starting XI. Or doesn't know if he wants to loan him or sign him. If it's the former then it would explain it as he's getting his permanent signings in first.

Berner Masilela Konchesky?? 3 left backs, plus Ben Mee...... I think Sven wants Ben Mee as cover for Mills, Bamba and St. Ledger at centre back, Mee doesn't want to come here and sit on the bench, I don't blame him

Mills and SSL partnership I'd presume and also there is Bamba thrown in there, with Tunchev and rumours of Vitor coming back. A lot of players and only two spaces.…

sphericalfox Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 It's clear to me that Sven wants Mee as backup/squad player. He can comfortbaly play LB & LCB. However, he isn't better than the options ahead of him. To have Mee on the bench means that it frees up another an extra attacking option on the bench. However if the Konchesky rumour is anywhere near true, and Mee doesn't want to take this option, then Knochesky would be an adequate replacement. I believe he can also play LB & LCB. We need quality in depth. Masilela maybe a good player, but after returning from surgery on his knee, we better have a decent player as backup, as it bothers me to say it (touch wood he signs and nothings bad happens during the season), but Sven will have this on his mind.
