cc_star Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Really chuffed about this! In a reply they also say we've enquired about both a perm & temp, hopefully we'll be able to get him on a perm. The LCB slot was problem last season

The LCB slot was problem last season Aye, even if we get him on a loan like Masilela, with a fixed price at the end of the term I'd be happy!
thybluefox Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Really took to him last season, to think he's Championship standard already having only ever played for us bodes well. Also nice to have a proper left footed defender. Him and St Ledger, with Masilela on loan and we're sorted at the back.

Filbert's Friend Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 This is a really positive step. Dead chuffed. Plus it will hopefully silence the "too many attacking players" brigade for a while
DanTheFox07 Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Really like what I am hearing at the moment, another step in the right direction with squad building, I wonder if sven is gonna go back in for vitor too? depending on tunchev`s fitness im guessing!

Jimbo Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Ben Mee, for me, was the one player I was most excited about seeing here again this season (I don't include Naughton because I'd already given up on the chances of seeing him again) really hope this goes through. After a shakey start he was a stand out performer and will only get better
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 @Fourth_Official Fourth Official Leicester have opened talks with Manchester City tonight over re-signing Ben Mee Yesssssss !!!!
MikeyT Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 @Fourth_Official Fourth Official Leicester have opened talks with Manchester City tonight over re-signing Ben Mee Would this be a loan or permanent? Can't see him getting much of a look in at Man City.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 This would be a cracking bit of business from Sven, solid player who'll only get better.
Corky Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Excellent tackler with good distribution, and can play left-back if required. Would love him back.
FrankieADZ Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 if we managed to get him back it would be for me the best bit of business. just hope we get Mee on a permanent deal...or a loan with view to permanent as i cant see him getting in the Man City team any time soon
Libertine Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Hope we get him. Really want us to sign a more experienced leader at the back also though. Bamba and Mee did well together for a period last year but I'm not sure it's a great long term option.

Amin Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 A really good addition if it happens. We need atleast 4 defenders that can comfortably play at a high championship standard, and with Bamba, Hobbs, Tunchev and hopefully Mee&St Ledger, that would be the case.

Bamba and Mee did well together for a period last year but I'm not sure it's a great long term option. I like Bamba, can see why he's a bit of a cult hero - but some of his defensive decisions are dreadful and put us under un-necessary pressure, he's often not close to his man and relies on his long legs & good luck to get him out of a hole... Hopefully a bit of pre-season coaching will bring his weak areas up to the rest of his game (which can be awesome)

Hopefully a bit of pre-season coaching will bring his weak areas up to the rest of his game (which can be awesome) I agree. For me it should be New Man & Bamba or New Man & Mee for the most part next year. But I can't really see us bringing in Mee/St. Ledger and not playing them, nor can I see Bamba being dropped. We need to stop changing the defence so often, but I'm not entirely convinced that Bamba & Mee is a promotion winning pairing. We'll see anyway.

Really want him here permanently. C'mon Sven, get this one done, I'd love it.
