Probably a month later (??) and we are nowhere in the transfer market. Absolutely nothing. Surely a man of Sven's networking nouse would have had a few deals lined up? A few deals just sitting there in the back of his mind, all but sealed? Just ready to pull the trigger on? But no, there's nothing. Just nothing. I'm going to go ahead and jump to the conclusion that all is not right at the club at the moment and the reason why we have made no moves at all in the transfer market is because Sven doesn't know if he's going to be boss next season. There must have been some kind of disagreement which they're working towards resolving. But as each day passes without news, I can't help but feel that somewhere in the depths of the Walkers Stadium our boy Sven and the owners are having an almighty rift. In fact the more I think about it, the more likely it seems. I'm going to stick my neck out here and make the outrageous claim that Sven won't be our manager this time next week. Guy Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 Although I don't know the OP (Dave the Caveman) or the general nature of most of his posts on here, I think the OP is just venting his concerns, not joking. Why would he? As another poster said, not all was well with Pearson this time last year and the transfer activities were non existent, just like now. Although lightning may not strike twice here, with Sven's recent short stay track record at his clubs (since he resigned from being England boss after the World Cup in 2006), then you can never be too sure. Perhaps it's best to give it another couple of weeks before pressing the panic button though! While people are saying that "it's only June", lest we forget that the season for City has been over for a whole month already and the new fixtures come out on 17th! Then training begins again in earnest at the beginning of next month - so it's important to get players in in reasonable time for that. So I'm also a might surprised that nobody has even been mentioned as a transfer target yet - let alone signed. While it's clear that the likes of Kyle Naughton won't be back, it appears that all is very quiet on the western front which I think is unusual at this stage!

jamesmilner Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 july 1st is preseason starting date . just round the corner .we need a side that can get 1st or 2nd . that will be tough to achieve . surely sven should have been thinking players long before the season ended . still not even a loanee returning . 3 weeks to get in at least 6/7 players . then get them to know each other before august . hope it will happen , thats all .
