dave the caveman Posted 8 June 2011 Posted 8 June 2011 Some time ago our boy Sven said he wanted deals wrapped up quickly during this close season. Probably a month later (??) and we are nowhere in the transfer market. Absolutely nothing. Surely a man of Sven's networking nouse would have had a few deals lined up? A few deals just sitting there in the back of his mind, all but sealed? Just ready to pull the trigger on? But no, there's nothing. Just nothing. I'm going to go ahead and jump to the conclusion that all is not right at the club at the moment and the reason why we have made no moves at all in the transfer market is because Sven doesn't know if he's going to be boss next season. There must have been some kind of disagreement which they're working towards resolving. But as each day passes without news, I can't help but feel that somewhere in the depths of the Walkers Stadium our boy Sven and the owners are having an almighty rift. In fact the more I think about it, the more likely it seems. I'm going to stick my neck out here and make the outrageous claim that Sven won't be our manager this time next week. Lets see if I'm right...

We've got those important staff inplace now, however, so give 'em a week to check us out before Sven gets the go-ahead to make any move. No problems at all

Tom Kennedy arrived before Pearson left. Now then people. calm the **** down, it's only june - we've got another 2 months before the season starts and then another month in which to do any more transfer dealings, the fixtures haven't even been released yet.

Players are on holiday, managers are on holiday! We've just had a major upheavel behind the scenes! Its a well know fact we've been in for Westwood and a trusted souce in Bert has said activity will start next week!! Me personally (while it is quite boring not signing anyone) would like Sven to take his time and get the right players to take the club forward rather than signing any old Tom, Dick or Harry to apease doom mongering all is not well supporters like you!!!!!!!!!!! Either this guy works for the mail or he's Martin Allen. The Thais appear to absolutely love sven so i'm positive they wouldn't let him go. Also surely the fact we've had no financial director and CEO for a week, so now have somebody getting used to the role, doesn't help a situation. As Sven has said it all hangs on the loanees and the longer they keep him waiting the longer it will be. The market will start moving in the next week and i will say after emailing a few agents a deal might be on the cards before the fixtures are announced. I'm not saying, I know anything but I've received a few vibes. No championship team has done any real business yet so why worry. Players like Maynard are, according to his manager, still on holiday and any activity will be down to him either signing a new contract or not, likewise with King.

To be honest, i think we`re probably finding it difficult to bring players in at the moment, because we`re probably in competition with a few clubs, for certain players, and the players agent are going to be playing one off against the other, so as to get a better deal for their player, and it`s all going to take time to play out.. I`m not so sure either, that we`re going to be quite as willing, as the media, had led us to believe, to pay silly money in fees, or wages, and may actually be competeing on a bit more of a level playing field, than maybe we thought, with other teams from our division. I suppose the coming weeks will tell us. I`ve got to say though, that all the hype about us having unlimited funds and stuff, has come from the media, and i`ve never once heard the owners or sven say such a thing.
