Raw Dykes Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 This! Honda CB-1, love it. Been over 4 years since I owned a bike and am really glad to be back on 2 wheels (note: the oil is not from the bike) Nice! Are you cutting your losses on the cage?
Zingari Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Cheers! No, despite the name it's a 400cc (inline 4) - Japanese import. Not amazingly fast but revs to 15krpm so makes a nice enough sound! Zingari - the oil stains on the drive are from my better half's S reg Punto. I think another tin of Stop-Leak is due... ah it just reminded me of my how my drive used to look after my old Thunderbird T110 had stood there for about half an hour

Ah the import. Tough to get hold of these days aren't they? I had the 650 NTV.. Similarly shaped (it's bigger brother I think).
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Nice! Are you cutting your losses on the cage? Sure am, that piece of shit is going straight on Autotrader when I get it back. Col - yeah they only made them for 2 years and were only officially marketed in Japan and USA, but spare parts are still pretty widely available. Wasn't particularly after this bike but on a budget (£500 with a little tax/MOT left, cheap insurance) it fit the bill of: A) getting me to work quicker and B) having a bit of fun. I did actually find an NTV I considered - V-twin shaft-drive aren't they? Would be nice to not have to worry about a chain splitting (happened to me once... luckily only at 20mph)

Lovely bike, added a fairing and the 650 v twin never missed a beat. Took it touring to Wales and Scotland. Great bike. Having the shaft drive was brilliant mate. I had the bike for about 20k miles and the shaft only needed servicing at at 16k.. Once in all the time I had the machine. Now own a house without a garage unfortunately and I miss the bikes.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Brilliant, my dad's been a fan of BMWs (shaft-driven) for years and can't stand the idea of a chain, I guess it is pretty archaic nowadays. Get another bike! Just smear dog waste over the handle-bars if you don't have a garage, no one will touch it Zingari - I've had no personal experience of classic British bikes but heard enough to put me off ever buying one. Great as they look, the idea of daily maintenance... no thanks! My first bike was a CZ (Czechoslovakian) 125. 2-stroke pre-mix, so never had oil leaks. Can't tell you how many things did go wrong with it though. Most times you wanted to start it you had to pull out the spark plug and wipe it with a rag, it would just cover itself in debris constantly.

My first bike was a little Triumph step through. It was a fookin Triumph if I ever got the bastard started..
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Haha! Yep the CZ... thing was a dog. I lost the key but amazingly a standard phillips head screwdriver started it without damaging the ignition, couldn't be easier to steal - and no one ever touched it! Cost me £100 to buy, then about £200 to bore it out to 160cc just so 4th gear could actually be used
Rincewind Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 Ordered this free online via a game on Facebook. Awarded some cash for some promotions. Only had to pay postage and not committed to buy more. Free printing.. Couldn't really find a sutable design.
Tielemans63 Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 Bought one just like this yesterday - picking it up next Friday. Chuffed as it's a nice car at a very good price. Died a bit inside though as buying a Ford Focus means having to accept I'm no longer a young man.
Zingari Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 This is a better picture of my mug. that's some mugshot i thought you had more hair than that !
Rincewind Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 Yes. Thought it a nice promotion for my website and book. Pity I'm the only one that'll use it. Christened it with some fancy tea. Not too bad quality but to have more it would be £5-7 each and this was free for playing a game. Wouldn't mind a T-Shirt with it on. maybe a more appropriate picture but at the time only saw flowers and cute (?) babies. Even less appropriate.
Fox92 Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 You got a car? If you fancy more advertising, you tried your local printers? I used to work at my local printers, fairly easy to knock some small text up for a vehicle.
Rincewind Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 No I don't drive. Not sure if I would go as far as have it painted on a car.
HEGGSY Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 Like that a lot. When did F&M and Puma start doing stuff together? Do they do anything else?
Bayfox Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 No I don't drive. Not sure if I would go as far as have it painted on a car. can be put on magnatec if you know anyone willing meaning can be pulled on and off at will. i can sort if you're interested.
Rincewind Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 No don't think I know anyone. The mug was free so thought I'd do something different and unique. It is probably the only one in the world like it. Having the design on a T-shirt would be OK. People might enquire what it means but I would like something like the cover of my book as a design. The cost puts me off. My income has to improve first.
Webbo Posted 5 September 2012 Posted 5 September 2012 2 nights in Bournemouth in a fortnights time. I've just screwed the RAC down another £25 pounds and a free £20 M&S voucher on my renewal.
Jackirius Posted 6 September 2012 Posted 6 September 2012 Flights from Mumbai - Goa and Chennai - Bangkok
