Leicester City have reached agreement with Hull City for the permanent transfer of Jack Hobbs, who has joined the Tigers for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old defender has agreed a three-year contract at the KC Stadium, where he spent three months on loan last season, appearing 13 times for the Championship side.

In joining the Tigers, he links up with former Foxes manager Nigel Pearson, who brought Jack to City in August 2008. Initially signed on loan from Liverpool before completing a permanent transfer a year later, he made 130 appearances for the Foxes, scoring once.

The Club would like to place on record its thanks to Jack for his valuable contribution both on and off the pitch during his three years on Filbert Way and wish him every success in the future.

Good luck for the future is all I have to say, shame we let him go but he just wasn't right under Sven and Sousa. Thanks for the contribution.

The Tigers have secured the signing of Jack Hobbs from Championship rivals Leicester City for an undisclosed fee.

Centre back Hobbs is no stranger to Tigers fans having spent the final three months of the 2010/11 season on loan at the KC Stadium.

The 22-year-old former Lincoln and Liverpool player impressed during 13 appearances to earn himself a permanent move and he now looks set to be a regular feature in the Tigers' back line after putting pen to paper on a contract that runs until 2014.

Speaking about joining Nigel Pearson's squad on a permanent basis, Hobbs said: "I'm delighted now that it's all done and I'm finally a Hull City player. I am really looking forward to meeting up with the other lads for pre season and starting a push towards the Premier League.

"My time at the club last season only reinforced for me what a great club Hull City is - the fans, the stadium, the set up here, the manager and the players meant it was great to be a part of last season and I want to be part of it again."

Make sure you log on to www.hullcityafc.net and TIGERS Player early next week for full interviews with Jack Hobbs and our other new recruits.

Bye Jack, at least you won't sulk when told to fight for your place anymore (because you won't have to)

Shame to see him leave. I still think he's good enough at this level and I rekon he will be solid again for Pearson next season.

Thanks for the contribution though, Jack.

Cheers Jacky, Good couple of years for us but not what we need right now I suppose.

Lad'll have a good future no doubt.

Sousa's mental defensive style shattered Hobbs' confidence. He was a good player the season before. Never properly recovered. Good luck to him for the future - apparantly a really nice bloke too.

Can confirm. A genuinely nice bloke who has time for the fans when I met him.

Haha, very true!

Quite gutted by this, had high hopes for the lad after such a promising start. Still think he'll go on to have a decent career.

All the best Jack.
