I would price him in those 3 fights

2/5 4/7 1/3 = 2/1

so 4/1 is huge for me

I think it’s a fantastic bet and fantastic odds Given the state of play right now

but Fury could end up a favourite in that equation if he was to come back a monster , but I doubt he will

I reckon that’s decent. I can see Parker getting caught up in the whole occasion on Saturday and freezing. Wider is all ego and not as good as he thinks ( seems to take on has-beens and underprepared journeymen). Fury will never get back to where he was, l personally didn’t think he was all that anyway. Tin hat at the ready !

It’s a fair opinion on Fury , really only one world class performance on his record , but it was a performance of some beauty

I will eventually but I've still got about 4 months on my IUDTV.

Have they got a website so I can see what they offer?

Really looking forward to the Joshua-Parker fight. I have a feeling that Joseph will get the upset.

Out of topic but the fight I'm looking forward to the most is Khabib vs Tony Ferguson in the 7th of April. (ufc)

Depth as in what? weight classes? They have 12 classes (8 for men and 4 for women) with amazing fighters in almost every division. from flyweight's Demetrious "mighty mouse" Johnson ( who's considered the pound for pound GOAT for many) to lightweights like McGregor and Khabib and heavyweights and light heavyweights like DC and Stipe Miotic.

For me, MMA is the ultimate fusion of styles, you get Brazilian jujutsu, Sambo, muay thai, folk wrestling, and old fashion boxing to name a few. Too many styles that dictate the kind of matchups that are enticing.

The best part about the sport is the relative absence of "fight maths". Fighter A can beat fighter B, and fighter B can beat fighter C, but that doesn't mean fighter A can beat fighter C. it all depends on the matchup you're facing and your game plan. But once in a while, you get your generational talents like GSP and mighty mouse who clean up the division no matter the opposition's style (well, it helps that they are both in the GOAT conversation for the greatest all-around fighter ever).

Since the start of the UFC, it was the same story, a striker vs grappler! that's why I want to see Conor vs Khabib so much. Conor is a monster south pow (at least for MMA standards) and Khabib?, well, Khabib is a different breed of mauler. he fights like he's 20-30 pounds heavier and his ground and pound is just disgusting. the moment he gets you down, it's a one-way ticket to concussion land.

4474018_o.gif (the way the guy's in the ground legs twitch after every hit is nightmare material)

The way he traps the left arm and paralyzes his legs with superior positioning is out of this world

the ref should've stopped the fight or his corner should have thrown the towel after the first half dozen elbows. but, If he gets his hand on the Irish, it's night night for Conor.

Yeah, MMA looks almost like a glorified cockfighting but it's way more than that. The technique and the fact that you can't make it there for just being a one trick pony for long is what's amazing about the sport.

I'm so excited for the Khabib-tony fight because Tony is a submission artist and proved that he can take a ton of damage and still pull something out of nothing at the drop of a dime.

Looks like kicking out time at a few pubs I’ve been to. As much of a sport as darts is. Obviously that’s my opinion, so convince me otherwise.

Do you consider boxing, judo, wrestling, jujitsu...etc sports? if so....

MMA is a mix of different martial arts/sports (hence the name MMA which means mixed martial arts). It's not just some angry humans kicking the lifespan out of each other. It demands commitment, hard training and huge heart just to step out there. There are black belts and even world champions and wrestling Olympians competing in the ufc.

here are some resumes.

Quote

Rashad Evans

He has obtained the rank of black belt in Karate, Gaidojutsu (Greg Jackson’s submission fighting system), as well as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. As a caveat, Evans earned a spot on our list by obtaining his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt from Rolles Gracie without ever putting on a gi.

Stephen Thompson

Having an illustrious kickboxing career with a combined amateur and professional record of 57-0, “Wonderboy”, achieved the rank of black belt after American Kickboxing, some suggest, took cues from Muay Thai and introduced a ranking system as a way to identify skill levels and accomplishments within the art.

Georges St-Pierre(GSP)

Beginning his martial arts career in traditional Kyokushin karate, GSP would earn a black belt in the art and as his training progressed on the professional level he would go on to earn a black belt from Greg Jackson in his submission fighting system, Gaidojutsu, as well as the coveted Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt from Bruno Fernandes.

Fabricio Werdum

He has competed in every professional fighting league of note with the exception of Bellator which includes the UFC, PRIDE, and Strikeforce but even more impressive are his three martial arts black belts. Werdum holds one of the highest ranks in the arts of Judo, Muay Thai, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

1

and then you have guys like Khabib who's a 2-time combat sambo world champion and a judo black belt.

And MMA is not just some dudes kicking the crap out of each other. it demands technique and mastering the craft to be able to dominate and stand out

these moves can't be done by everyone

cGMmJyB.gif

method=get&s=tj-waldburger-gif.gif

dj-borg-flying-armbar.gif (the guy with the beard is mighty mouse)

those are high level moves from some top martial arts styles

I don't see how can people see boxing, jujitsu, karate, Maui thai..etc as sports/martial arts but not MMA. People with high credentials from around the martial arts world rally around to see who's the best. Test their skills and create new styles. (just like Eddie bravo did with 10 planet jiu-jitsu)

Well said. There is a UFC thread that our old friend Gaelic Fox started a while back. A simple search should find it. Marquess of Queensberry rules only in here.

I think the lighter weight will be good for Joshua. He looked too big and too slow in against Takam and easy to hit against Klitschko. Comparisons with Frank Bruno ( who was a limited, game, big hitting bodybuilder) were drawn, and rightly so, l think. A more mobile Joshua can only be good. He even said he felt too heavy. I’m sure his team have looked into this and see it as the way forward.

What round is everbody thinking David Price will have his Jeff Schlupp moment, look completely puzzled with life and totally forget where he is and what it is he's actually supposed to be doing?

Might not be, but you can't devalue it as a sport because you don't enjoy watching it. Especially when you're saying that a sport that's basically a more restricted version is a sport.

Both take tremendous athleticism. What do you reckon will happen tomorrow night anyway?

I'm going for a little longer. Might be hope talking more than anything. Has the potential to be special if they both turn up
