Lillehamring Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 i have to confess i've actually never heard of him but the thing that makes me very pleased about this, is that it seems to be very much a sven purchase - not a boardroom decision.
Ric Flair Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Never been able to understand this! 75 pages of speculation and ejaculation and then it gets confirmed and barely an excited squeal. It's like a flash of the knickers and everyones buzzing and then the beef curtains are out and you've all gone vegetarian!!! Come on you buggers, this is an OBSCENE signing. I want 100 pages by midnight.

Lineker's Left Foot Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Goal 40 seconds in against us reminds me of a certain Mr Steve Walsh - is he the next one???
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 why must i go to work tomorrow, its so unfair, want to bask in the glory of the latest transfer news for a few days!!!!
Dylan Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Our best signing yet imo, and a clear statement of intent from our owners, showing their ambition and targets. He's an absolute class defender at this level, and will lead our defence!

Fox 4 Life Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Good timing, apparently Stoke failed to agree terms with Dann so they may well have been back in for him! Superb signing
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Good timing, apparently Stoke failed to agree terms with Dann so they may well have been back in for him! Superb signing over the moon with this signing
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Excellent signing. Good work everybody. im sure the key to it all was my "come on millsy, come to City" posts, without them the deal would have stalled im sure
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Lets sell the best Defender in the leauge and replace him with .............. Paul McShane. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_7025336,00.html The Royals look set to lose Matt Mills this summer after it emerged earlier on Thursday that a fee had been agreed with Championship rivals Leicester. McShane has now been identified as a potential replacement and Reading manager Brian McDermott is believed to be considering a move. 25-year-old McShane admitted last month that he was unsure whether he had a future at Hull after being sent out to Barnsley for a loan spell last season. McShane has previously spent time with Walsall, Brighton, West Brom and Sunderland, having started his senior career at Manchester United. .
The Doctor Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Cue the odd Reading FC fans' comments: "He's shit", "Cost us too much", "overrated", overpriced", blablabla. And the Brizzle Rovers bunch will now be even more nervous about losing Maynard. I'd imagine Rovers would be delighted to see maynard leave brizzle.
crisp monster Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 As said before a brilliant signing and the type of inspirational player that we haven't had at the club for many years If it goes tits up no one on this site can moan cos we all wanted him Roll on august 6th

John Matrix Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 I'd imagine Rovers would be delighted to see maynard leave brizzle.
HoneyBadger Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 This is what Reading fans thought of him in March, before they were influenced by the thought of him leaving: http://hobnob.royals.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=104489&st=0&sk=t&sd=a Not too popular!
kingfox Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 I have heard mixed reactions from Reading fans saying they like him. But his attitude problems do seem a bit of a worry, that forum posts were written in March and in all honesty they don't sound too good on our behalf. I think it's a good signing but £5 million is way too far, it's a big gamble going by Reading fans messages.
ajthefox Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 I hope the Thais have much deeper pockets than what we think, because after the bid we made for CMS and now 5 million for Mills, we are being made to look like we'll literally spend as much as it takes to get every player. I'm excited we've signed him after hearing a lot of good things and bearing in mind that prem clubs have been after him, but I find it very hard to believe he is worth this much. Time will tell.
