song_bilong Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 there's a reason why fans are fans and why sven has managed england, lazio, roma etc if sven and his scouting team thought he was worth paying 5m for then i'd take their opinion over what reading fans say any day. sven kept picking owen hargreaves and getting booed for it only to have the whole country trying to suck hargreaves off after the euros
HoneyBadger Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 The main reason being that most fans weren't good enough to be players and therefore have the profile to become a manager.
tylesta Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 After scrolling through there forum i think they dislike due to a one fingured salute to the crowd. Something about smashing up supermarkets aswell. and threatning reading fans!
reynard Posted 24 February 2012 Posted 24 February 2012 This all makes interesting reading now given the current context. Looks like a few might have changed their minds.
Matt Posted 24 February 2012 Posted 24 February 2012 I can't say it was a bad signing because I was very behind this signing, I was very happy calling him 'one of the best defenders in the league' and I was quite sure of that from what i'd seen of him at Reading (Which wasn't much but I felt it was enough to base that opinion on). How wrong I was, not only has he been poor, he's got an bad attitude and big ego.
Kitchandro Posted 24 February 2012 Posted 24 February 2012 I'll also admit I vastly overrated him. He's average.
LCFC BEAST Posted 24 February 2012 Posted 24 February 2012 Shows how naive people can get and just follow the crowd!
Guest shearfox Posted 24 February 2012 Posted 24 February 2012 I thought he was better than he was, I'm glad he is out the side now and Morgan seems to be far more assured at the back.

I remember the thumping header that gave them the win at the Walkers last season, thought he was a great player.
Matt Posted 24 February 2012 Posted 24 February 2012 Shows how naive people can get and just follow the crowd! How do you mean? Thinking he was good or slagging him off? Thinking he was good? I was following no crowd, I honestly thought he was one of the best defenders in the league. Slagging him off? Again following no crowd, Can I say he has played well? No, not consistanly, I can count on one hand how many good performances he'd put in, Can I believe he doesn't have a bad attitude or big ego? No, I think he comes across thinking he is better than he is, thinking he is untouchable and he is guaranteed a place in the team - Shown by the apparent/rumoured bust up with Pearson. Shows how naive people can get when they are bias towards players and have favourite players!

Not you personally but the drastic change of opinions shows nativity and one of my mates has started disliking him since others have been complaining. Everyone has their opinions and I respect that, no one opinion is right and people have a right to say what they want. What he's done with Pearson is clearly out of order but SSL had the same problem and now he's a fans favourite, another change in opinion from some.
Matt Posted 24 February 2012 Posted 24 February 2012 What he's done with Pearson is clearly out of order but SSL had the same problem and now he's a fans favourite, another change in opinion from some. Because he's pulled his head out his arse, knuckled down, got stuck in, and playing well. I suggest Mills and anyone else with a problem does the same. I've said it before, i'll say it again, players don't have to like each other, fans don't have to like players, but if they are wearing a Leicester shirt and playing well, that's all I ask.
LE4Dan Posted 24 February 2012 Posted 24 February 2012 Only one thing for Matthew Mills to do - start fighting for his place and show us and his boss why he should be a starting CB.
Matt Posted 24 February 2012 Posted 24 February 2012 Only one thing for Matthew Mills to do - start fighting for his place and show us and his boss why he should be a starting CB. And the Captains armband - which he has never deserved, but another thing he needed to be promised to come to LCFC which I believe was down to his attitude and ego.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 24 February 2012 Posted 24 February 2012 Mills needs to buckle down and get back in the team. That's what St Ledger did and he's a regular now! COME ON MATT!
Tielemans63 Posted 24 February 2012 Posted 24 February 2012 To be fair, last season he was one of the best players in the league so people's expectations were fair enough.
Fox92 Posted 24 February 2012 Posted 24 February 2012 Thought he would be a good signing, as you can see from this thread in July, but I was wrong and I overrated him. Reading fans said he is only good on TV and I think they were correct. St Ledger and Morgan are way better defenders in my opinion.
funkyrobot Posted 24 February 2012 Posted 24 February 2012 I can't see Millsy shifting big Wes out of the team now he's got into it, not only is the latter an NP signing, he looks a far more accomplished defender and a much better passer. I Think mills is gonna have to fight to partner him instead and I'd put him behind both ssl and Bamba in the pecking order based on form alone.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 February 2012 Posted 24 February 2012 We could spend £10 in the space of a few days if we're succesful with Maynard. I'm staggered. We've got a boss defence now. I predict the lowest Goals Against in the league. My skin tingles! Proof positive I'm not psychic. Phew!
