Parafox Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 So the NotW has been closed in the wake of the Millie Dowler phone hacking allegations. It's a safe bet that many on here will have read the paper at some point and some may well be subscribers. I, personally have read it usually about once a month because I like the TV critic, Brian Hyland. The rest of the paper is pretty much full of shit although sports coverage was better than most fot the Championship football reprting. I was wondering how many will feel a sense of loss by it's demise or is the majority opinion such that it's about time. Personally I feel it fully deserves to go. I fear it will re-appear in another form (the Sunday Sun)? How much of this is down to Rupert Murdoch and his megalomania around media? The paper was something like 160 years old (I think) so it's been around a looooong time. Was it all bad?
z-layrex Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 It wasn't all bad as you said, but it was a paper for morons, and there are enough of those around. Good riddance I say.
General Smuts Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 I like looking at boobies of a sunday and this kept me entertained whilst the sunday sport went missing.
purpleronnie Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Won't make any difference it will just become the sunday sun.
Darkon84 Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Think its out of order how all the staff have lost their jobs, but people like Chief Executive Rebekah Brooks keep their jobs, when they were the real cvnts and get to sit around on their fat bloated overpaid arses.
Dr The Singh Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Apparently they are going to launch a new sunday paper. Look forward to it!!
Stevosevic Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Shit paper full of trash, won't be missed. But i'm sure a trashy equivalent will be put in place.
sdb Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Apparently they are going to launch a new sunday paper. Anyone who buys that should be kicked in the crotch by anyone and everyone who's been ****ed over by the 'paper. (i.e. loads of people).
Christoph Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Nothing will change, the Sun will be a carbon copy of what the News of the World was. No tabloids are good but they're the only papers with a decent back page, there aren't no fun rumours and interviews in broadsheets
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Glad to see the back of the bloody dreadful rag. I feel sorry for those who will lose their jobs though, due to the idiots in charge. They should be dragged into the street, and publicly flogged! Now we will be seeing another trash comic cut rag, to replace it. Wonderful ain't it? Bastards!.
Zingari Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 I must admit to being totally confused by all this .Surely a few heads rolling and a few prosecutions of those found to be involved would have been enough . They seem to be throwing the baby out with the bathwater here . I'm not a great fan of the paper and it has undoubtedly overstepped the mark here, but it has been quite effective at investigative journalism and I'm sure many journos quite often work in grey areas to get a story We surely don't want to see investigative journalism castrated completely though , do we ? And I must just add that Rebekka Brookes could do with running a brush through her hair

FoxyPV Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Did Ross Kemp not divorce / ditch her because she was beating 10 bells of shit out of him?
I am Rod Hull Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Did Ross Kemp not divorce / ditch her because she was beating 10 bells of shit out of him? WTF ! Fiery them gingers...
Bellend Sebastian Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 [/b] Not bad for a ginge though... She looks so forlorn you could almost feel sorry for her I nicked this from someone off Twitter
Zingari Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 WTF ! Fiery them gingers... The Evening Standard yesterday interviewed Chris Bryant about his tireless efforts to investigate phone-hacking. This, understandably, annoyed Rebekah Brooks (nee Wade). Here's Bryant's version of his last meeting with Rupert Murdoch's favourite seemingly Teflon-coated, flame-haired executive: "She came up to me and said, 'Oh, Mr Bryant, it's after dark -- shouldn't you be on Clapham Common?" "At which point Ross Kemp [the ex-EastEnders actor and her then husband] said, 'Shut up, you homophobic cow'." Whether or not Kemp continued with "Leave it, you slag. He's not worth it," Bryant does not say. http://www.newstatesman.com/blogs/the-staggers/2011/07/rebekah-brooks-kemp-bryant
