Guest MattP Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Hart, Ferdinand, Neville and Beckham in an all time XI?
Bert Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Hart, Ferdinand, Neville and Beckham in an all time XI? What's so funny about Beckham? He was, and still is a cut above. Falcao was the best player he ever worked with he said.
????? Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 HIs all time England XI was: Hart Neville, Terry, Ferdinand, Cole Beckham, Lampard, Hargreaves, Gerrard Owen, Rooney (these are the ones that he has coached not all time England)
stix Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Hart, Ferdinand, Neville and Beckham in an all time XI? In their prime?? More or less absolutely.
Guest MattP Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 In their prime?? More or less absolutely. Has Hart reached his prime? You would of thought we would of won a few things wouldnt you with 3 England players in an "all time" XI? Beckham - totally overrated, Fergie knew when to get rid. Ferdinand - done well for himself, good player, not a patch on Pique. Let alone a world Eleven. G. Neville - Good job he played for Man United. I can't believe Sven didnt include Nedved over Beckham, Mihajovic anywhere and the season he had Salas up front he was one of the best in the world. Big case for Dejan Stankovic as well.
ajthefox Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Out of all the England players, Beckham is deserved but the rest shouldn't be anywhere near all time world 11. Particularly Hart, that's just ridiculous, he's only just become our number 1. The others have a case but I find their inclusions pretty odd. Surely this is all just who he has coached?
Guest Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 David Seaman was incredible until his last couple of years. Up there just behind Schmeical (Peter!) in his prime!
Guest ttfn Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 David Beckham was once so overrated that he's become criminally underrated. Reverse Lee Carsley syndrome.
One Arm Babba Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Beckham would be the first name on my team sheet in the right mid position. great player.
ozleicester Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 cannot beleive the Beckham hate, yes he's fashionable and married a spice trout. But the man is one of the greats.
Fox92 Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 David Beckham is overrated. He wouldn't make my best 11. Even George Best highlighted in his quote that Beckham can't use his left foot, doesn't tackle, can't head a ball and doesn't score enough goals. His dead ball set pieces are ok, but nothing more. If you look at the percentage of how many he has taken but scored, it's not that good. Plus he shouldn't have more England caps than Bobby Moore because Beckham comes on for 10 minutes and gets one while Moore played every minute. Beckham - totally overrated, Fergie knew when to get rid. I agree. In fact, I thought I was the only one that thought this.
Samilktray Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Fox92, the guy who'd suck off Steven Gerrard given a chance, calling David Beckham overrated.
Fox92 Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Fox92, the guy who'd suck off Steven Gerrard given a chance, calling David Beckham overrated. What is wrong with Gerrard? He gets stuck in, he can tackle, he can score goals, his vision is good, he is fairly good in the air, his shots from long range are good, his passing is fantastic and his set pieces are all right. And, he is very loyal.
Samilktray Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 David Beckham can score goals, has twice the vision, has been known to score the odd long range effort here and there, dont think I need to say anything about his passing ability and his set pieces are among the best in the world. David Beckham has also pplayed for the 3 biggest clubs in the world, and had some success in playing for all 3. When Steven Gerrard has a game for England like David Beckham did against Greece, we can sit down and talk about this.

davieG Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 This is why I hate football everyone has a different opinion!

I agree that Beckham can score long range goals and his passing and set pieces are alright, but everyone refers to the Greece match at Old Trafford. He has had sucess at the 3 clubs, but he would have had more sucess if he would have stayed at Manchester United all his career, ie Giggs. And, I doubt that Gerrard will have he moment to score a vital goal for England now anyway. "You'd find a fackin h'ngry pig loyal if you fed him Stephen Gerrard. They go through bone like butter!" I haven't got a clue what you are on about.
One Arm Babba Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 What about pigs? I'm a pig farmer. How dare you.
sdb Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Did he ever really play Hart? Kasper always seemed to be his choice of the Man City back up keepers if I recall correctly?
shen Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Did he ever really play Hart? Kasper always seemed to be his choice of the Man City back up keepers if I recall correctly? "On his return from a successful loan spell at Blackpool, former Manchester City manager, Sven-Göran Eriksson, named Hart as Manchester City's number 1 ahead of Andreas Isaksson. After his performance against Newcastle United, Eriksson touted him as "one of the biggest talents in this country as a goalkeeper", and that he had the potential to become an England international in the future." Kasper always seemed to be his choice of the Man City back up keepers if I recall correctly? I always thought Kasper was his number one as well.
