  1. 1. Should City bid for Shane Long?

    • Yes but no more than £6m
    • Yes but no more than £4m
    • Yes cash and player exchange
    • Only if we fail to land Nicky Maynard
    • Only if another Championship side makes a bid
    • No not a chance

It's nearer £70m which will all be paid off when they sell Upton Park and move to the Olympic stadium.

I wish we got 70 million for moving grounds!

I'm interested to hear your logic behind this?

Yeah but will he want to sit on the bench for liverpool

I think any player would prefer the bench and dreams of Europe with a Massive club rather than the Champ with Leicester.

My logic is it was what I was told by somebody very close to West Ham who is a good friend has no reason to lie. The land the stadium is on is worth a fortune plus they will get new sponsership deals for the new stadium which they are leasing and not buying.

But has been reported in all press that they have to borrow 40 from newham council.

And that is on there bid for the stadium not made up.

You are right but that money, which is being borrowed at a very very low rate for a very very long time,is for boxes and retractable seating etc etc. They are leasing the ground on a 100 year lease.

This seems a little odd from a West Ham perspective imo. They couldn't stump up the cash up front for CMS at £3million so what makes them able to do £8 million for Long now? They haven't shifted any of their best players yet so where are the extra funds coming from?

I think this is a case of...

...just waiting to happen.

Sullivan and Gold have put in £30 mill this summer from personal funds and have stated this publicly. Dont believe all the hype about the clubs debts and so called poor financial state. Sullivan and Golkd are VERY smart businessmen and are worth about £800m between them according to the rich list.

What would people think about an £8m bid for long?

Too much & Liverpool have expressed an interest according to SSN, I can't see it personally. U just throwing this one out there as a suggestion?

As an Irish supporter the lad is Fraytt x 20. Great with his head, great with his feet, and pacey as fook.

However, 8 million is a lot of monies. Though he would easily repay it with goals for fun, and the support from our immense midfield.

We would need a decent winger to utilise his talents to the full. Unless that's coming, I can't see him doing what he's done at Reading again for us.

A deal potentially being £8mil with at LEAST £3mil of that add-ons, acceptable. £8mil up front would be plain daft.

After the play-off final defeat against Swansea, chairman John Madejski declared Long to be world class. "What is the value I would place on him? £20m."

A fantastic striker so it is true about this about this amount of money which was mooted 2 days ago, so obviously it would be difficult to entice a striker from the prem to come to the championship so now we are turning our attention to Long, he would be a fantastic striker for us
