Guest Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 impressed with Bamba, Danns, Kasper, Peltier especially and three of those are newly bought guys.
Guest Bilo Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 The drubbing many expected completely failed to materialise and there are many, many positives to take from the game. Defended resolutely and played some nice stuff of our own against massively superior opposition. Just the striker situation to sort out and we have one hell of a team here.
Charl91 Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 If someone had offered me 2 - 1 before the game, I would have bitten their hand off
sdb Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Kasper, Bamba, Pelts excellent. Danns, Vassell decent. SSL and Nugent poor. Yes it's a friendly, etc, etc. I'm just saying.
ramboacdc Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 its a loss but a good result in my eyes. worked out the creases and should good for battering cov next week.
benmeysner Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 impressed with the defensive performance, I hope this will be a benchmark performance for rest of season, mills looked solid until the goal, konchesky looks solid as did peltier, kasper looked good, impressed with nugent but he just needs someone to run around him and make some runs.. good game tho
Fox in the North Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Maybe move Lloyd dyer to striker and we've solved the problem? Just a thought?
Salieri Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Excellent workout and did ourselves proud I thought. Some good performances, especially from Bamba and like the look of Schmeichel too. Can't wait for next Saturday!
Master Fox Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Kasper, Bamba, Pelts excellent. Danns, Vassell decent. SSL and Nugent poor. Yes it's a friendly, etc, etc. I'm just saying. I thought Nugent played well. Abe is fooking rubbish.
Charl91 Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Maybe move Lloyd dyer to striker and we've solved the problem? Just a thought? I think he's a good impact sub, but I don't think he'd should start
Blue Bob Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Well done Top for bringing this to city, great occasion and will be a great boost to the team to play against such a massive side. Did OK i think, hope Mills is OK - any news? And before the moaners start - it could be a lot worse - we could have had a friendly against Lincoln like the Trees did. Thanks Top!!
MC Prussian Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Good game, 2-1 to Real the fair score. Let's face it, with this setup, being well-equipped in midfield and defense, we were never going to match and/or threaten the second-best Spanish league club. But we did what we could, had a couple of chances and I'm glad for Lloydy to score. Still, many positives to take from today's game: Schmeichel and Bamba played very well, loved Johnson during his brief spell in the second half and Mills' efforts in the first. In fact, our entire defense is very much up for the new season. Vassell and Gallagher were our main threats going forward during their 45 minutes. Nugent still a bit unlucky playing in this 4-3-3, has yet to find into this formation. Few touches, one shot. Also disappointed in Wellens' selfishness and poor ball control. That freekick in the first... Oh my. Yuki Abe pretty much invisible when he was on, Danns played alright and composed. We need an offensive midfielder to step up, to put on pressure (either King or Johnson) and another, prolific striker who fits Sven's system.
CKB Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Proud of that! well done lads We just need a striker and maybe a winger and we are set
Fox in the North Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 I think he's a good impact sub, but I don't think he'd should start True, just thinking with how he can run and has a decent finish
themotivator Posted 30 July 2011 Author Posted 30 July 2011 Dyer is probably my current favourite Leicester player who i think is a little bit shit. Mind you that was also the case last season. Looking forward to hear the thoughts of the lads who were there. How was Johnson doing? Stringer and Young mentioned he was pooped and thoroughly unfit. any glimpses of quality?
Haydos Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Dyer is probably my current favourite Leicester player who i think is a little bit shit. Mind you that was also the case last season. Same
sdb Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 I thought Nugent played well. Abe is fooking rubbish. I thought Abe was great 1st half.
Spudulike Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Both goals very preventable. Poor defending but Mills was concussed for the first. Comedy for the second. Its all very well playing top opposition in pre-season friendlies but losing can become a habit. That said, Cov are not Real Madrid.
OLD norfox Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Proud of that! well done lads We just need a striker and maybe a winger and we are set YES ! Proud to be a fox. Impressed display by Kaspar, Peltier , Bamba and Nugent. Can't wait for the Cov-game
Kent Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 So glad we've got Schmeichel, I think they might have scored one or two more if Weale was in goal.
Guest Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Kasper, Bamba, Pelts excellent. Danns, Vassell decent. SSL and Nugent poor. Yes it's a friendly, etc, etc. I'm just saying. I thought Nugent did well, thought Danns was excellent and vassell skinned them every time. If I had to say any players were below the level it would be our stalwart midfielders from last season. Wellens, Abe and King but we were playing Real. Look who they brought on at half time - 4 world class players; Maybe Ball looked a bit poor too. I think we're going to let in very few goals this season. The new defense was impressive.
Jonezy Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Very strange and encouraging seeing a side like Real Madrid playing Leicester. They were of course different class and gave us a great defensive workout and limited the danger from us to set pieces. Thought we held up really well defensively, but it caused us to be a bit limited going forward. Great with a goal at the end and hopefully a good experience for the players going into the season. Can't wait to the Coventry game now. Bamba was unreal today by the way.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Bamba was excellent today. Wellens well off the pace and kept backing off. Hope Mills is alright.
